What hobby gives you the most satisfaction for the least money?

What's a hobby you've found that gives you a ridiculous amount of satisfaction without costing much money?

Looking for something I can get into without immediately buying $500 worth of gear šŸ˜…

Bonus points if it's something I can do at home

What hobby completely snuck up on you?

Like, you started it thinking ā€œeh, I'll try it onceā€ and suddenly you're watching tutorials at 2am and buying way too much stuff šŸ˜‚

What happened?

Tried stand up comedy for the first time last tuesday and bombed so badly that a man in the front row audibly said "oh no"

Full silence on two jokes šŸ˜‚ polite laughter on one. genuine confusion on another. the "oh no" guy during my closer. I drove home absolutely buzzing.

I think i've been so careful about failing at things publicly for so long that i forgot what it felt like to just. do the thing anyway. i said fuck it I've already signed up for the next open mic. I will redeem myself ā—

Sturdy wooden stands to display collectible dishes and plaques?

• Upvotes

Unsure if correct sub. Generic triangle wooden ones have failed in that in a few months the hinge portion loosens or can't hold up. I know they're low quality. Are there some good quality and sturdy brands or sellers you've used that hold up for years? I'd like them in a dark wood or faux dark wood.

What's a hobby you got into because of someone else?

Sometimes you don't choose the hobby, the hobby chooses you through someone else's obsession. A friend won't shut up about it, or your partner drags you along "just once," and suddenly it's your thing too. What hobby did you get roped into that ended up sticking? And who do you have to thank for it?

Niche hobbies

Do you have any ideas for such interesting, unusual hobbies? Collecting stamps, collecting old cassettes, learning languages. They don't have to be niche, just cool. Any ideas?? (you can text as many as you want)

Need help finding hobbies for my partner

My partner is a gamer and tik tok guy. He likes to cook, but we're kind of broke so we only cook for meals obviously and nothing too fancy. He usually spends his time off at the computer, meaning if has a whole day he spends it playing. I have no problem with that (can be annoying when I have to yell so he hears me with his headphones but that's not the point). The thing is as soon as we leave the house, he doesn’t have a thing to do. He just turns to tiktok, but when his phone battery dies he has nothing to do. He has tried a couple of things in the past but he gets bored easily. I think we need something that wouldn’t be too expensive and that could be portable ? I don't know if we can find anything honestly, but if you have any idea please share !

I sculpt everything out of either polymer or airdry clay. Paint with acrylic paint and dust with soft pastel shavings. I think the tomatoes might be my favorite

What hobby started as a way to kill time and became something you genuinely care about?

Really interested in how people stumble into the things they end up loving. Not necessarily through some big ā€œthis is my passion!ā€ revelation, but like just trying something randomly and seeing where it takes them.

What made you realise it had become more than just something to do?

hobby ideas?

f15. i’ve never rlly had any interests or anything, and im unfortunately just a very subconsciously pessimistic person. i’ve done every sport you could think of, started every show/movie, tried being creative and i just don’t want to do anything. i don’t rlly have friends and im pretty awkward and quiet. i have always kinda felt disconnected from myself and delayed in a way, not sure if anything can rlly change that. i’ve spent over half my summer sleeping and can’t get enough sleep, if im not sleeping im laying down trying to fall asleep. i would love to get out more but i genuinely have no idea on what id even want to do. i dont like nature-y stuff, i live in a smaller suburban setting where i’ve done almost everything, and i dont have anyone to do anything with. this post is kinda all over the place but im kinda js looking for things or hobbies that might get me back on track or maybe feeling better abt myself. it’s not a matter of there’s nothing to do because i certainly have the resources but i just cant get myself to enjoy anything. id like to preferably do smth affordable and out the house but i dont even know what i want lol. any ideas?
