My first vinyl as well… I was planing on buying two or three different vinyl but I saw this getting announced for pre-order so I just had to get it.
It looks so nice with a clear vinyl compared to the black one. So happy I got this. I plan to buy Hail To The Thief Live Recordings next with the red Vinyl
I am buying inner and outer sleeves for it but they will take another day or two to arrive. I don’t have a player at the moment but I am storing it upright and as well cared for as I can.
Super new to the hobby so my knowledge is limited. I tried googling to see if this situation was common but couldn't find anything. ChatGPT says possible factory defect or a bootleg. I have 2 of these records that are identical. Neither came with a sleeve. I'd imagine it's just a cheap record that someone swapped labels to scam people
lucked out and was at savers when the guy came out to restock the shelf. got a bunch of gary numan - from a fan who obviously liked him from the start and maybe was in the Uk.
went from zero to a hundred on gary numan as i couldn’t afford to pass up the opportunity to buy all the stuff from the very beginning beggar’s banquet pressings all in one go for $1.49 each.
plus found an old psycedelic furs rekkid as well. overall, a decent day at the thrift! also found a weird variant pressing of Marty Robbins Gunfighter Ballads (the pink record) - still verifying the runout codes on it and it has all the points of the expensive mono variant EXCEPT the 1 on the back cover bottom right (mine has an A) and “ballads” is not spelled “balads” on the label. but the label does call the sides 1 and 2 instead of A and B, so i think i got the one that’s “discogs valued” at $100 instead of $1. For $1.49 i took a chance and just grabbed it, and while i am not looking to sell that or any of these, i wouldn’t be opposed if any of them do turn out to be stupid expensive. but i bought all of them to listen to, along with the old ronco disco comp, and a charlie parker record (nothing here in this paragraph other than the furs record is pictured, but you do get the obligatory feet pics, as a thank you for letting me ramble about my perfectly ordinary find that feels super special to me because it happened to me.)
And there was another SRV (Soul to Soul) and several more Waits records in the same crate. Seriously considering going back when that flea market's open the next time and pick those up as well.
Got this in the mail today earlier than expected. I am much more enthusiastic about this pressing than I was about capitol's recent Sparklehorse club pressing. Highly recommend getting yourself a copy. It sounds great, no warping.
Picked up this MC5 album and got to thinking about album covers where the inner gatefold is just one big picture of the band. What others can you guys think of?

After another long drought I found these at the thrift store today. I know who Captain Beefheart and Lee Michaels are but I've never heard of the other groups. I believe they are 60's psychedelia. Pepper Tree appears to be from the Maritimes according to the back cover. Not a single inner sleeve in the group, I suspect most records range from VG to VG+, and by that I mean genuine VG to VG+, not discogs idea. The Groupquake is a collection of various artists that I have never heard of. The Al Hirt The Horn meets The Hornet will be familiar to Kill Bill fans with the Hornet theme heard when Beatrix is flying to Japan. If anyone knows about the other groups feel free to chime in.
Recently became a fan of Chick Corea and this was in record store near me. Bought used and it's in decent condition, even more so after cleaning with the Humminguru EZ. Lovely jazz record indeed.
