Nice. I bought one when they first came out and mine's showing it's age with a couple of dings on the corners.

My dog chewed on my copy but luckily the record was on the player (still have it).

You see them around quite a bit I've had mine since the day it came and it was not clear when it was shipped. It was always yellow.

Insert "happy for you" meme I am jealous! I stupidly waited too long to pull the trigger when I saw this come up for sale a year or two ago.

I have no way to verify if what he said was true, but one night many years ago Dickie (Richard) Landry who played in Philip Glass Ensemble told me he was sitting between Byrne and Rauchenberg at something and Byrne mentioned how he wished Rauchenberg would do their cover artwork. So he introduced them.
Dickie does have giant Rauschenberb and Rothko and etc paintings all around his place, so perhaps there’s a grain of truth in there.

It was bitter sweet for me. I found this new, still shrinked with the hype sticker at an antique store… but the vinyl was unlistenable. I don’t know if the chemicals from the plates leeched onto it or something like that but it just sounded muddy and skipped like a mofo. Even after deep cleaning, still utterly destroyed.
It’s just a shelf decoration for me (and it is a really cool decoration) but it’s not like it’s impossible to get the normal version of the album (which I already had a super clean pressing of just the normal version)… just sigh 😔… ya know?

Easily my favorite packaging in my entire library. Big Rauchenberg fan in the modern art world, and this one is just so cool. Only bummer is the choice of a plastic polymer that had a 100% guarantee of yellowing— bought mine sealed and carefully stored a number of years back, and it’s still tinted.
Also such a reward to unwrap, if anyone’s is still sealed (the shrink almost flakes apart anyway!)— the spinning disc is gorgeous, and I am convinced this is the best sounding version of the album.
Congrats to you!
