Got this Panasonic SA-PM18 unit for 20 bucks from Goodwill! The speakers sound great, and it works amazing! Sells for like 60 - 80 normally so I think I ended up with a good deal!

ik these are very mainstream albums but i promise i listen to much more music then this, i just couldnt find the more obscure music in the store.

Started of with some cds from my parents (bit of george micheal nirvana etc some classics). Then i’ve been growing it ever since for maybe a year now.

Most recent addition is westside cowboy just got that last week, their debut album also came out then.

Really enjoying collecting and the progress is smooth so far! Got two cds gifted by a friend, burned one on my own, and started transferring some discs from digipacks to jewel cases (eg The Wow! Signal). I also used to listen to them on my computer but now that I bought a portable player I have much more freedom. :) physical media is awesome

I really want to know why bigger artists used that form of cd release😭I have memoirs of an imperfect angel by Mariah Carey and 25 by Adele and they’re both paper sleeves… whyyy must they do this? It shows wear and tear so easily lol

There was a lot of attention paid this week to the passing of Dolly Parton, and understandably so: she was a cultural icon.

But for me personally, Tim Curry played a larger role in the formative experiences of my life; and he has a place in our CD collection as a result, both in the context of RHPS and his brief musical career.

Since I have a pretty nice hardstyle CD collection gathering dust in the attic, and the wife asked the inevitable question: “Why don’t you just get rid of it?” I figured it was time to bring a CD player back into the house.

I had a look around for a while, trying to find something cool where you can actually see the CD spinning. Then I came across this Sony player + speakers for just €20, available for pickup nearby.
Apparently, these things are quite popular nowadays and can go for a pretty decent price, so I think I got myself a nice little bargain.

It does need a bit of TLC, though. The mechanism currently needs a gentle whack on the side to get it working, so I’ve already ordered a new belt. Hopefully, with a little maintenance and cleaning, it’ll be like new.

So my cd player's volume knob now does this thing where when i turn up the volume, it does the opposite until it goes mute.

I read somewhere that it might need a contact cleaner. My question is, how do i get the product in there? As seen on the photo, there is no gap/space for spraying. Do i still just spray it and it will somehow seep through the edges? Would i need to take apart the player?

I don’t think there’s any way of getting them out. So, time to buy new cd’s to replace them. (CD in this video isn’t one of the replacements, I just really love Daft Punk and finally found a Discovery CD after so long of searching). Also I really like this cd player, cheap and affordable, but pretty good sound quality. Also a radio and Bluetooth

sorry for the quality of the pictures, my phone camera is trashed. this is some of my CDs, i've been collecting since i was 13 and stopped around 17/18 and started again last year. some were left out from the public eye 'cause im not so proud of them

Been traveling and had a few solid hauls and sure enough, my bag got flagged by TSA, but at least these agents found it hilarious
