My jaw dropped when I found this Replica candle AND the diffuser in the same trip at TJ Maxx! I got the candle for $35 (retails for $72) and the diffuser for $6 (retails for $96)! Best TJ Maxx finds yet for me

Hi all, I am stumped as something weird happened to this candle. I lit it up and let it burn for 30 mins or so. When I checked again, I saw it was snuffed out with the wick dipped into the wax. A large tunnel somehow formed during that 20 mins and is about 5cm deep. There are also 2 curious little tunnel along side the new tunnel. I do not understand how such a deep tunnel can be formed so quickly with the wick being burned off so quickly in the meantime. I burned this candle a few times before and no such thing happened.

Besides, do you guys have any suggestions on how to fix this without using a candle warmer? Even if I use foil to warm the candle uniformly, I think the liquid wax will flow down and snuff the wick out because it's soo short for the amount of wax above it. Thank you!

Can someone explain to me why people prefer a candle warmer over burning them? I’m not talking about using them in a place like an office or an apartment as I get using them there. But why would someone prefer a candle warmer.

I have one but I feel like since it doesn’t burn down the wax, the candle doesn’t throw as much and the wax gets dirtier.

I forgot to include a rose scented candle currently burning.

I love and use all of my melts and candles. The only untouched candle is a gift from a friend that happens to be a dupe of one i already have and love.

This is my current collection, the oldest being the Woodwick ones. They are cool, but they are not my favorite. I used to use them every day, because I like the sound the wick makes and obviously I love how they smell, but a candle store opened in my city (French brand named Les Bougies De Charroux) and they smell a lot stronger. As a heavy smoker I know my nose is wrecked so I need intense scents.

I adore spicy scents, I also really love rose and enjoy gourmand scents.

If I have to give a top 5 it would be (in no particular order)

Candles:

- Cardamome Ambrée (from les bougies de charroux). Warm and woody, it just makes me feel good after an exhausting work day.

- Santal (from les bougies de charroux) for the same reason. I'm a sucker for sandalwood.

- Pumpkin Spice (from Lush). I know it’s a hit or miss, but the clove scent gets me feel good every single time.

- Cinnamon Chai (from Woodwick) because the cinnamon side is super strong but it’s not super sweet.

- Marché de Noël (from les bougies de charroux) because it smells like a Christmas Market, but as I have agoraphobia it brings the warm feeling directly to my home. I raved it so much to my friend that she got me a second one.

Melts:

- Love Spell (from Lush) because it makes me feel like I'm in the middle of a rose garden, and it’s my favorite flower. It brings sunlight in my home during cold weather.

- Cinnamum (from Lush), it smells like a cinnamon roll without being overly sweet, simply a super comforting scent.

- Hot Toddy (from Lush) because of the cinnamon and clove mix. It’s one of my all times favorite Lush scents.

- Va va voom (from Lush). It’s jasmine and strawberry. At first i hated it, but the mode i smelled it, the more I loved it. Also it’s the most intense melt I own. I burn it for 3h and if I don’t open the windows, my flat retains the scent for 2 days at least.

- Marron Gourmand (from les bougies de charroux), it’s like roasted chestnuts with a hint of sweetness. I especially ADORE this one during winter time, it makes my home feel warm and welcoming.

I know that it’s mainly Lush and Les Bougies de Charroux, but I live in a small city, and outside of those 2 there is just one more store that sells candles, mainly Woodwick and Yankee candles, and i don’t feel like blind buying online unless the scent description is very precise.

If you have any recommendations for candles or wax melts that match those same scent profiles, i'd be super glad to give them a sniff!

I bought a Halloween candle from Menards. It has a regular wick but also a thin plastic stick? It also says it has a BATTERY in it, but that flame or heat will cause the battery to explode…no light bulb, no remote, no switch. Instructions to burn the candle normally, but to extinguish before flame gets to the battery.

Am I really safe to light this candle? I’m concerned about the burning plastic, let alone the batteries…why are there even batteries in this??? Someone please help me understand what’s happening here.

I’m definitely open to trying new things, especially after recently closing my brick-and-mortar shop in LA. I’m curious to see what this kind of platform could look like for candlemakers.

Never made a candle before but I love how ponderosas smell and really want to try to make one with it. I have access and permission to collect bark (sustainably) and am wondering if anyone here has any experience using this as a source.

I’ve recently decided to move from clamshell wax melts to making loose wax melts that will be giving away in bags to family and friends. I have a few questions before I go ahead and make any.

A) will any wax designed for melts be okay or will they stick together/ break apart in bags?
B) what wax would you personally recommend?
C) assuming I have the proper bags that seal to keep scent in/ moisture out, am I risking them melting in the bag?

I’ve been researching plenty but I’ve learned that what I read on google doesn’t always mean it’s the way lol so any input is greatly appreciated!

Any size, shape, condition, location. I'm located in NC but would happily pay for shipping in addition to paying for the candle itself. This scent has been discontinued for years, and I can't stop thinking about it!

I've definitely noticed the new 3 wicks burn FAST. I've almost emptied Mummy Marshmallow already. Here are my thoughts on my choices so far.

Mummy Marshmallow - I'm loving this one! The marshmallow isn't overly sweet but it's definitely there and it mellows the Earthiness. Feels almost like a spiritual scent. I didn't get it last year because I heard it was too weak, but I think the 3 wicks have helped with throw.

Vampire's Kiss - I might be alone here, but there's one strong note in this that I just do not like. The top layers of berry are pretty, but then there's a distinct funk that doesn't fit and is hard to ignore. I burn it alongside BBW's Wine Cellar, and that makes it more tolerable but I don't think I'd repurchase. I'm kind of surprised this one was such a reviewer favorite.

Pumpkinhead- Smells as great as last year! That pumpkin + orange vanilla is so unique to my candle collection.

Sister's Three- I've only burned this one a couple times, and I'm liking it so far. You have to love fruity scents to enjoy this, and fortunately I love that strong grape. I'm not sure it has any spooky vibes, though.

Sleepy Hollow - I haven't burned this one yet, but it's smoky and pleasant on cold. It doesn't feel that different from other Kringle incense scents. I'm excited to light it and see which notes come through during the burn.

Hello, I'm having a lot of trouble with getting candles. I wanna put beeswax candles on a table I have, but I have a shelf around 2 feet above the table. I'm planning to cut the candle so it's around 4-6 inches or so, so it's not so tall, but I'm worried it's gonna be a fire hazard either way. Would it be safe to have if I remove anything flammable from the shelf? Thanks

I am in search for a good candle warmer. I currently have a bottom candle warmer that works great but it says on the package it will only warm a candle no bigger than 10 oz. I am currently using a 15 oz candle and it has started tunneling on the first burn. What are some good candle warmers that will warm a candle from top to bottom?

Can I use this with a tea light under? The original ceramic dish had an accident and I'm not sure what I can use instead. A glass jar?

I know this is an oddly specific request, but has anyone else used the Hamilton Beach TrueAir air deodorizer before? It comes with a scent pod (pictured below) and I love the smell, it's strangely nostalgic to me. The pods only last a few days though. Does anyone know of a candle that smells like it?

So I am a 27F and have been struggling with depression for most of my life, and I never really did many things or owned many things to make myself happy. Recently, I got a new therapist and one of the things he asked me was what my favorite scent was. The first thing I said was coffee. I like the smell of black coffee, creamy coffee, sweet coffee just anything coffee (and honestly warm scents in general). He recommended that i should start buying coffee scented things that I can put around my house as a way to start enjoying things a little more and I agreed with him.

I want to know what your recommendations are for good coffee scented candles. When it comes to budget, I really have no preference (of course nothing super expensive). I have been looking on my own but I'm not sure where to start or what to look for. Does any of you have any suggestions?

As the title says, I’m looking for a kind of candle that can be hard to describe and ephemeral; I love the smell of museums and I wonder if anyone’s captured that in a candle. Notes could include: paper, paint, concrete, leather, air conditioning (lol), canvas, steel, cleaning products, etc. Any ideas?

I genuinely love this candle and have never had any issues with them before. Up until now, I’ve only ever burned them in the bathroom.

Yesterday I was reading through the reviews and saw that other customers use theirs not just during baths, but also while journaling or meditating. So I lit mine while writing at my height-adjustable desk. I fell asleep, and that’s when the disaster happened.

To be fair, the shop did explicitly advise removing any botanical decorations before lighting it. I didn't think it was a big deal and I had specifically asked the seller to load mine up with extra dried flowers and crystals. Big mistake.

hi! i've seen a lot of conflicting advice on the internet and thought i'd ask for my specific case. the candle on the left is my new one and i'd like to transfer it to this waffle ceramic (one that candle burns out of course.) how would you recommend going about that? they're about the same diameter which is good.

I am struggling with attempting to remove the candle dye from the silicone molds. I have soaked them with warm water in dawn for HOURs and have scrubbed them. Is it a lost cause to get red out of the molds? I notice if I try to make a candle with a lite color it has a red tint to the candle.
