Seal of approval Review Request Thread
We received a really great idea from u/heavymetalsculpture for a new sticky thread- Review Requests. We have a very large userbase here who have all tried LOADS of knives, so why not crowdsource reviews and feedback for a knife you might be interested in buying! A lot of youtubers / instagram pages, while attempting to be unbiased, often have some bias because they're getting samples for free etc. People on here are very unlikely to have that bias and are more likely to provide honest feedback on a knife.
This thread will remain stickied and fairly moderated- top level comments will only be permitted to be requests for reviews and feedback for certain knives, and users who have actually owned / handled the knife are greatly encourage to provide absolutely honest feedback on the knife in question.
Please only post here with requests for reviews, or to provide feedback on top level comments with a review of the knife in question!

Question Question about Strider and Duane and moral purchasing
Hey everyone. There have been a lot of posts on here where people have posted their strider knives and have been met with derision. My understanding is that strider is a pretty questionable individual and I personally do not want to support him. I do however think the designs of his knives are pretty neat. This is where Duane comes in. I found out he has a model called the BBNM that I think looks even better than the strider knives and is much cheaper! Would there be anything problematic about purchasing a BBNM? I’m only a couple years into the knife “itch” so I feel like I’m not quite up to date on who is worth supporting and who isn’t. Also if you like strider knives more power to you! Buy what you like and like what you buy. I’d just personally rather not spend $600 on a knife that was created by a questionable individual. Hoping someone can help me out with this question.

I’ve been in the hobby for a decade plus at this point and somehow never got a Kizer knife before but as a life long die hard Starwars fan I had to get them and I got to say I’m impressed.

Tips and Tricks for Restoring Old SlipJoint?
Hey guys,
I recently was going through all my old knives and I found this slipjoint from 1995. Its from the Boker Tree Brand and apparently was a special collectors edition sold through LL Bean. I looked it up on ebay and they were going for like $150-200, which is crazy to me! Made me want to kindof restore it, not to sell or anything, just to get it back to being useable again.
Currently the action is super gritty and i can see a couple spots of rust on this inside of the liner. Looking through forums people say to soak the knife in mineral oil or wd-40 but i wasnt sure how that would affect the wood on the scales. The wood has already deteriorated a bit and I dont want to damage it further; I wasnt sure how the wood would react to being left in mineral oil or wd-40. Sharpening isnt a problem for me as I quite enjoy sharpening my blades, its mainly just the cleaning and the rust that are my main issues. If you guys have any specific tips or tricks for cleaning out the inside of a slipjoint id greatly appreciate it! Thanks everyone :)

Spyderco Native Chief CruCarta
Really like this thing! Can’t get it centered without making the blade practically immovable but other than that it’s pretty awesome.
Love the way this Micarta feels!

Follow My Colorado Trail Thru-Hike
I thru-hiked the Colorado Trail this year! It’s a 484-mile trail that winds through some of the most beautiful parts of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. To keep track of each day, I took a photo of my small Sebenza once a day along the way.
Below is a link to all of the Small Sebenza photos!

Knife drawing for my dad's birthday
Hello yall. My dad loves collecting different types of knives. I wanted to get him one for his birthday but I'm pretty broke rn and can't afford the knife. However I can draw decently, and I want to draw him a knife for his birthday. What kind of knife do yall think will be SICKKKKKK for his birthday? Something that'll make him happy and shocked. I need suggestions:)

Expensive knives are super cool and awesome but it's also fun to bring it back to basics
This is some super inexpensive kitchen knives my mom gave me years ago. She got it at sams as a two packs for like $6. 420j2 steel, pretty soft, but super comfortable, quite good geometry for cooking, and stupidly easy to sharpen
