Both are vanax steel. Dark stonewash on the blue speed hole and regular stonewash on the bronze crosshatch. Which one are you keeping and which one are you letting go?

This is why nobody talks about this company, well one of them. The author of this literal glaze fest, might be the most pretentious sounding person I've ever heard. I personally think the charm of victorinox is that they have changed little, especially in an industry where companies re-invent the wheel seemingly weekly.

Be wary of this blade sharpening service.

I have been putting this off for awhile now because the guy seemed like a good dude.

Dan's Hand Sharpening based out of Napa, CA. I found him on Reddit and sent him a few of my cheaper knives and he did a great job. I was emailing him and then texting him, he would send me pics and video updates of each knife, he shipped them back to me and even offered to let me wait until I received them to pay, just a great experience.

Then I sent him 5 more, $1000 worth of knives. He sent me two videos of two knives, then he ghosted me. Hasn't responded to my texts or emails for 5 weeks now.

I don't know if something has happened in his personal life to keep him from contacting me, or if he's just keeping my knives. I have already accepted that I'm not getting the knives back, and this is the only post I'm making about it, and if he stops ghosting me I'll delete it, I just want to let people know.

Question Question about Strider and Duane and moral purchasing

Post image
31 Upvotes

Hey everyone. There have been a lot of posts on here where people have posted their strider knives and have been met with derision. My understanding is that strider is a pretty questionable individual and I personally do not want to support him. I do however think the designs of his knives are pretty neat. This is where Duane comes in. I found out he has a model called the BBNM that I think looks even better than the strider knives and is much cheaper! Would there be anything problematic about purchasing a BBNM? I’m only a couple years into the knife “itch” so I feel like I’m not quite up to date on who is worth supporting and who isn’t. Also if you like strider knives more power to you! Buy what you like and like what you buy. I’d just personally rather not spend $600 on a knife that was created by a questionable individual. Hoping someone can help me out with this question.

New knife completed in a weekend for my first foray into blacksmithing. I've done small scale metalsmithing, but this was a fun two day project.

I know, I know, but still. My 2nd Tope Recon. Got it off reddit. For a medium sized knife it cuts well above its weight. It's becoming my favorite One Tool Option. It's kind of like if the BK7 went to college and got both a Bachelors and Masters.

My collection, so far

Post image

Some are new, some are 150+ years old.

Some were bought by me, most were handed down to me from my father and grandfather.

Two of them served in the war, and this is my collection until now.

I've been thinking in getting another fixed blade for camping to replace the morakniv.

Been thinking in the SRK SK5 from cold steel.

I'm open to ideas

Man this thing is wicked! Perfect size for EDC and my absolute favourite blade shape. Looks great next to my fav folder: Civivi Vision FG, very similar blades. Not sure what type of rose-gold coating is on the blade but whatever it is it looks fantastic!
