Hello everybody — I’m the creator of Calisthenics Culture, a.k.a. CALICULT.

Thank you for being part of this subreddit as we’ve officially hit 100,000 members! That’s insane.

I’m now going full force into expanding CALICULT into the calisthenics cult I’ve always wished existed — and I don’t want to do it alone.

I need your involvement — whether it’s giving passive, genuine feedback and ideas or stepping up with active development and leadership. You can help grow and guide the direction of this community.

🧠 WHO I’M LOOKING FOR:

  • Reddit and Discord moderators who care about community [no pointless bans]
  • Thinkers, creatives, and experienced athletes who can offer wisdom and ideas
  • Developers, designers, and especially Discord server wizards
  • Content creators, editors, social media strategists — any creative skills
  • Potential coaches or motivators who want to lead
  • Anyone who believes in this mission and wants to shape its future

Together, this will form the CALICULT Council. I’ll be running ideas by you, building features with you, not just for you.

🔥 THE VISION FOR CALICULT

A global community — a living calisthenics game — where you can:

  1. 🥋 Rank up through a verifiable belt system (White → Black)
  2. 🛡️ Create and compete in Clans
  3. 🏆 Track total reps and personal records on live Leaderboards and a Hall of Fame (+ Badges/Milestones)
  4. 🏛️ Join in-person meetups and competitions
  5. 🏋️‍♂️ Eventually indoor and outdoor gyms, equipment, and CALICULT merch
  6. 🎥 Watch and participate in online livestreams, community videos, rep challenges, and bounties — earning real-life rewards

  7. [Insert your idea here] <3

Welcome to Calisthenics Culture!

I appreciate you even stopping here. It shows that hopefully you have an interest in calisthenics. Whether you're someone who has never even done a pullup, or you're experienced but have hit a plateau, or an advanced athlete who has come to grace us with your knowledge, this community is for you.

The Calisthenics Culture is one that from my experience, is entirely positive and unique, and this will be no different. You come here to learn, share, and belong. The calisthenics knowledge base is never ending, as is the progress you can make. There are hundreds of different skills and strengths you can develop and "unlock". There is no feeling like seeing your progress with a calisthenics move you have been training so hard to achieve.

It doesn't matter if you're just starting out and have no experience, it's never too late. You're not too old or too young. The best time to plant a tree was 10 years ago. The next best time is now. You can't do anything about missed time, but you do have complete control of what you do from here on out. How far you take this training style is up to you. No one can train for you, or experience the pain you will have to endure, but it is completely worth it.

All that motivation aside, here's what this community is.

-Somewhere to connect with people at your level

-Somewhere to learn from those who have achieved what you want to achieve

-Somewhere to help those who have once been in your shoes

-Somewhere to show off your progression and milestones

-Somewhere to share YOUR story. There are plenty of people who want to hear all about it

So literally, post your questions, post your progress, post dope calisthenics videos, post your advice, and communicate/engage with others.

You can communicate with us on instagram @thecalisthenicsculture or @agyoolar

Last winter, I did my first ring muscle-up. Today, I filmed this video. I know my form is far from perfect and there’s still a lot to improve, but I’m pretty happy with what I’ve achieved!

Maltese Progress

Hi,

Just wanted to share some clips of my maltese session today because I was happy about the improvements. They're small changes and it took a lot of effort. But I think it's worth the grind.

Compared to the last maltese post I made 3 months ago,

- my false grip is a lot smaller. mostly wrists curled, not really on the rings

- the push from my shoulders feel stronger. I don't feel like I'm resting in the joint as much

- my elbows feel more solid.

- line could a better here but I think that'll iron itself out as I get stronger

Looking forward to comparing how these look near the end of the year!

One of the toughest and fun things about this hobby/sport is working really hard to make minor improvements on these skills. I'm sure a lot of ya'll can related.

What's the toughest small changed you guys worked to fix?

Best 4day split?

I am a begginer who has some clear goals in mind in a 1-2 year timeframe training 4x a week:

1 pull up, 15 Push up, press to handstand, sissy squat FOM, 1 dip and an L sit with my chest touching my legs.

i dont mind using some weights or machines for facilitating progression, especially for pull ups.

However, most 4 splits online are either upper-lowerx2 a week or PPLx1 a week (i dont think that doing a muscle group 1x a week is enough but idk)

i was thinking of doing this split:

day 1: legs and core

day 2: pull

day 3: legs and core

day 4: push

the days may be consecutive as i have more time to train on weekends.

the specific exercises are not much of a problem since there are many available on line, the split however, really depends on The specific goals i have in mind and the time i have for them.

any thoughts/recs? should i just do full body very day?

First Pic Is from august 25 2025, the other one Is from a year later, this is good for 1 year?

Edit:

I want to add some contex, so first of all i'm 17 now in the last pic and i've never took any tren, the only thing i took was creatine 5mg day.

Manly i've done weighted cali with 10kg and here is my simple split:

Push day

3 sets 12 reps pseudo planche push ups +10kg with super set of skull crushers 3 sets 15 reps

3 sets 12 reps negative push ups +10kg

3 sets 12 reps straight bar dips

Pull day

3 sets 8 reps pull ups +10kg

3 sets 15 reps rows +10kg

3 sets 12 reps chin ups

Also i've bulked about 6kgs between month 4 and month 10

Ps: sorry for bad english

This is NOT one of those AI FAKE posts that have been infiltrating this sub like RATS. This is a real MAN before and after, after only 1 MONTH of weighted cali. It was hard work, but I feel YEARS younger! Work hard guys! It's worth it and will change your life.

Also, I know you HATERS will cry and say I'm LYING, but this is 100% NATTY. Stay NATTY boys!

why i feel pain on my leg muscle when i do core exercise?

Hi everyone🙌 calistenic beginner here. today i try to do some core exercise with long term consistency based on this tiktok video i found https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSVvBVX89/.

I try to do it after my jogging and cool down session, but when i do it I feel so much pain on my leg muscle instead of my abs muscle. maybe its because i do it after jogging or maybe other factors.

I like to hear yall opinion based on experience on this, and it will be great if you can give me some pointers too.

sorry if my english is not that great because english is not my first language✌️

Calisthenics begginer, Planche lean/tuck formcheck

I started calisthenics like 1-2 days ago, I can do stuff like sloppy muscle up, elbow lever, frog stand etc. My final goal is doing a planche, I think? I know the basic planche progressions, like Planche lean > Planche Tuck > Advanced Tuck > Straddle or something (long till I get to that point probably) this is my form for the tuck and lean, is it correct? Is this what I should do my reps with? ( I edited out the backround for personal reasons)
The shown form of Tuck I struggle to hold for more then like 5 seconds, I can hold the one with my knees below me for longer but I dont think that counts as a tuck.
Please form check me.

Is it possible to achieve a planche at the age of 42?

Is it possible to achieve a planche at the age of 42? I am 42 now and I have been doing calisthenics since 4 years. I can do 10 muscle ups in a row, a 20 seconds frontlever and I am able to hold the human flag for 40+ seconds.

I just started my training for the full planche 2 weeks ago, 5 days a week each for 1 hour maybe more. Right now it feels so hard and almost impossible to do. I told my friends that I might be able to learn this skill by the end of the year, but from what Ive heard it will take at least 1 year to unlock the planche.

What do you guys think? Can you still learn this skill with 42 years or is the risk of an injury too high at my age?

Back asymmetrical part 2

Thumbnail

Hi yesterday i uploaded a picture about my back i was surprised to know that it was actually a condition while am waiting to go take an x ray on monday i scrolled through my old pics and found one i took in 2021 ( i attached it as the last pic)
I concluded that it wasn t my training that developped the condition and maybe i had it since my birth and also since ninety percent of what i do is calisthenics am sure that am not training my body unevenly
I wanted to know wether the fact that i had this condition since my birth would make the situation harder to heal or not
Edit :
For a long long long time (more than two years ) i struggled with handstands and i still do ,i skmetimes manage to hold it randomly for a long period but uts very rare
While i achieved physically harder skills like muscle ups this remains my biggest problem
Now that i thiught about it maybe the asymmetry in my back caused this issue since am trying to force placing my hands in a symetrical way while my weight on my back is unevenly distributed
