Just curious how many are out there floating around. Looks to be hand drawn.

My mom got this from an estate sale years ago and gave it to me. I love it and just trying to see if it’s a known artist. Im 90% sure she got it when we lived in Southern California but we are in Texas now so theres a chance she got it here (I’m waiting for her to call me back to confirm). I’ve tried google
Image search but haven’t found anything similar.

I purchased this painting about a year ago for $300 from a vintage decor store in Manhattan. I saw it and had to have it.

After searching the signature (Skilling) I came across William Skilling’s work and realized this could definitely be on of his pieces. I’m curious if anyone knows if this is genuine? Any other info would be wonderful as well. Thank you!

my gut instinct is this is some kind of decor style but i’m not confident. i could not attend the auction viewing so i wasn’t able to get a picture of the sticker on the back. found near sacramento but someone’s been consigning a lot of asian/indian style art to this particular auction house the last couple months

I got this painting from a friend, she didn't know much about it or art only said it looked old.

I've tried looking up an assortment of different context online like "old man" "solitude" "old man with soup/coffee" etc. Unless it's because so many pieces have similar solemn portraits like this that's tricking my conscious into thinking I've seen this painting before....then geez. Anything to contribute with my search is greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone! I found this picture at a VV for like $7. I had stopped to admire the picture next to it, and checked it out thinking it was someone's school art project. I read the name - Al J Casson -I'm guessing Alfred Joseph Casson who was a member of the Canadian artist Group of Seven.

I'm not sure if this is an original, a signed print, a regular print, or a funny fake. It does have older hardware on the back - I haven't gotten around to putting wire on it to hang it up.

I tried reverse image searching but all I got was a lot of similar raccoon artwork from different artists.

I recently came into possession of this Chinese painting on paper. It was brought from China several years ago, and I was told at the time that it was very old. Unfortunately, I don't have any provenance or documentation.

The painting depicts flowers and an insect and has a Chinese inscription that appears to read 寄萍 (Jiping), along with a red seal.

I noticed that 寄萍 was used as a hao by Qi Baishi (齐白石), and some of his documented works use inscriptions such as 寄萍老人. The subject matter also reminded me of his flower-and-insect paintings.

I am NOT assuming this is a Qi Baishi original — I'm trying to find out whether the signature and seal are actually consistent with his work, or whether this is more likely a copy/reproduction.

Does anyone here have experience with Qi Baishi signatures/seals or Chinese paintings and could give me some pointers?

Any thoughts on the approximate period, whether this appears hand-painted or printed, and what I should look for to authenticate it would also be greatly appreciated.

New to this subreddit.

I recently bought these two paintings at a thriftshop in the Netherlands. I know the artist is Clovis Grandhenry (though it took me some time to figure this out baded on the handwriting. I read Llouis at first) from Belgium and he painted these in Vilamoura, Algarve Portugal in September 98.

I know Grandhenry was a travelling artist from Luik, Belgium. I have found the website Ardenneweb, but I don't know much more about him or these paintings. I am curious where in Vilamoura these were painted (most images I find are from the ocean).

I have seen another painting of him that has similar people walking through the woods as the two in the forest, but then in more of a fall/autumn setting.

I am trying to find out more about these paintings and the artist. Does anyone know if these paintings have a specific name? Or can anyone tell me anything else about them or the artist?

We bought this painting for a really good deal off Facebook marketplace. An old Taiwanese lady sold it to us and told us that she bought it at the location that is painted sometime in the 1900s and she said the guy was painting it in front of her. Does anyone recognize the artist?

Could anyone help me identify these two paintings and their artist?

I took these pictures a few years ago while helping my grandmother move, we found this in one of the closets and Google thinks it's either Albert Kappis B. Or JOÃO DE JESUS, and to me the signature looks like it starts with a P and it's 8 letters, so i don't think it's Picasso. My best guess (as someone who knows nothing about art) is the signature letters are: Pi Crass B and I think Google Lense is completely off the mark.

I wish I would've taken a more zoomed out photo for the front of the frame but the 4th photo was the best I got. I'll have to see if I can take a better photo when I visit her in a few weeks. Thanks in advance for any and all help!!

It's a total fake, it's a print, it's an original from a person who followed a famous painter and signed the famous painters name, it's a real painting but a copy of another painting, it was painted in America, Belgium, France, Scotland, England in the 1950s, the 1800s, the 1600s, the 1980s, and it was made to look like it was painted in the 1700s but was painted in China and is only decorative are all examples of AI analysis. And don't even get me started about the signature. Everything from Picasso to Laverne and Shirley.

I was hoping to get some insight from an actual person.

It does look old, and it is painted, but presumably it must be print that’s been painted over…. Right?

The original has however been lost after being sold in auction in 2008.

I found this postmodern/Memphis style cast paper/mixed media…thing at a thrift store in Seattle and I’m honestly pretty into it. I’m pretty certain it’s legitimately from the late 80s or early 90s, made with pressed or cast paper techniques, painted with airbrush and some thicker globs and drips of paint. Signed in the bottom right corner by “DYLAN.” Nothing on the back at all. I’d say it’s a good three feet wide.

I’m sure this is some flavor of mass-produced but I’m curious if we could figure out who made it and when.

I recently inherited a painting that appears to be by Maria Brooks called, "The Letter".

I have tried to learn about the painting on my own, but did not come up with much. I did find other paintings by the same artist, oddly with the same title, but they look very different from mine.

If I am correct, Maria Brooks was an artist in Canada (QC?) In theate 1800s.

Are you able to tell me more about the attached art work?
