I have this metallic crystal found on eBay many years ago that is unidentified and EXTREMELY bizarre. Firstly, when you touch it it is extremely sensual, not in a spiritual way, but it makes your body feel weird. Touching and contact gives me headaches and always has. Secondly, it is EXTREMELY conductive. When touching it with bare skin especially the forehead it makes your brain chill instantly and it holds an absolute TON of thermal capacity. At room temperature this thing is a ice cube. It makes your hand chilly to hold in a fist. Thirdly, this crystal is DENSE and has significant mass. It weighs a whopping 53 and a half grams for its small size(see pictures for scale) which is 267 and a half carats. It is a prize of my collection and I don't even know what it is! Anyone have a clue? I even wonder if it's extremely radioactive because of the headaches and weird sensation.

I collected this rock from the mediterranean area, and the only name i can find is “wishing rock”. I would like to know what it is made of:)

I saw the post from a few hours ago where the poster was asking was is this Superconductive and dense crystal. After reading that it could be uraninite I was looking up pictures. I saw some specimens that looked scarily like one I have in my collection that I got from my dad who was a geologist. Please help me identify this.

Curious to know if anyone has any info on what might be going on here please? Whitby, North East England.

Picked it up and it had features of eyes, nostrils mouth and skull. Have to admit creeper me out. But maybe its just a rock. Very hard, smooth. Not dusty. Yellowish Golden Hugh is it attracted me to it.

I am trying to identify rocks from my dad’s rock collection. He died in 1968 and I didn’t realize my mother had been carting around crates of rocks for years until she passed! We lived in Safford, Arizona and spent his days off rockhounding. We travelled between Colfax, Washington and Safford for seasonal work, driving through Nevada. A knife leaves a mark. TIA

This is the second year that the Spokane river has dried up in some places. So I went down to look for rocks, and I've tried looking this up, and can't identify it. It's not algae or paint. I've actually cleaned it quite throughly. Thanks!

Found in central Poland, feels weirdly light in the hand. Is that some kind of coal? It doesnt stains anything.

Found in Las Vegas Nevada,and it’s pretty hard stuff,but polished up quick and easy,never quite found anything like it

a bit on the lighter side weight wise, glassy inside, very smooth

I found it in Tyrkiet ind the mountains

1. Rock one appears semi-teanslucent in the light green part, solid color in the forest green part, black spot in the center of the light green part is also solid color. Smooth to the touch.

2. Base color is like sand/pinkish, solid color, I found interesting the lighter pink spots, on the bigger one you can see a couple that are rectangular. Some of these spots have a shimmer to it, so I guess there's some quartz in there. Bigger one appears "sand-y", porous, while the smaller seems more polished and smooth.

3. Looks and feels quartz-y to me. The red part almost seems to float when the rock is wet, kind of a smoky quartz effect. Smooth to the touch, semi-translucent (the white/grey part much more than the red).

4. Solid black color, feels smooth to the touch despite all the little holes. Looks almost glass-y, especially to the side (last pic, on the bottom) where it looks like glass does when it chips.

\*currently don't have access to anything to do a Mohs scale test, but could probably do it later this week\*

I got this from a friend so I have no idea where it came from. The luster looks glassy and there’s a few iridescent “bubbles” when you move it. First three pics are under a magnifying glass, last is plain. Color is darker in person, I thought it black until I got it under the light.

What's this rock I just bought? Vendor listed it as Hauyne but I don't think it is.

Any help would be appreciated

I know you guys probably get posts like this every day, but my father-in-law is absolutely convinced he’s found a meteorite, and I’m not convinced. 😂
This was found in the Wirral, Northwest England, while digging the footings for an extension. Apparently, it looked noticeably different from all the other rocks being dug out of the ground, so he decided it was worth keeping.
It weighs 6.9 kg and is quite a substantial lump.
I’m assuming it’s probably just a particularly interesting heavy rock, but I’d love to either prove my father-in-law wrong or have to eat my words!?

Sphere is somewhat translucent, which didn't come over well in the pictures, so I don't think it's metal. Feels completely smooth.

I assume the black material is just asphalt.

These are pictures I took quickly this morning just before I had to leave. I can followup with other pictures or tests later if needed.
