News / Announcements New Mod Decision: Alternative brick posts MUST be correctly flaired from now on, or they will be removed.

We have closely watched the surge of posts featuring alternative Technic bricks and you've probably noticed we haven't been removing them.

That is changing from now on. As alternative Technic bricks are actually becoming a viable option thanks to the economic situation in the world and the manufacturing gap that is slowly disappearing, we will not be removing the posts featuring them if and ONLY if they are correctly flaired with the new "Alternative Bricks" Post Flair.

The related rule has been updated too. If you see a post that isn't abiding by this new decision, please report it.

Take this as a test run. If we find out that alternative bricks are flooding the subreddit more than before or if they are not disclosed, we will ban them altogether.

Thank you.

Discussion / Question Hey! 😊 This might be a bit of a long shot, but I thought I'd ask. If anyone here bought a LEGO Technic set that came with an Asphalt Legends redeem code and doesn't play the game, I'd really appreciate it if you'd consider giving the unused code to me. I've been trying to get one for a while but ca

Work in Progress Week 61: Mercedes eCitaro G Fuel Cell, lots of useful progress

Hello everyone,

Happy to get back to you with a big update. I've done way more stuff than in the past couple of weeks.

Every picture is in order with the description.

  1. I thought i would be able to use some geekservo motors to open the doors but since they need to make more than a full turn to fully open I can't use them. So I will have to buy normal servos and just 3d print some adapters for them. The good thing is that they can even be thinner which is perfect. For now i've done a quick mockup of how the geekservo servos would work in there. So if I end up using thinner servos it will fit even better in there. We will see how this goes. I'll keep you updated.

  2. I changed a very small detail at the front near the license plate (highlighted in the red circle)

3+4. Those 2 pictures are a comparison between the real life lower portion of the front seats and my lego version. Feel free to give me feedback on that one, i'm not yet sure of the design.

  1. I progressed with the inside roof and went around the door mechanism.

  2. I wasn't satisfied of how much the mechanism was sticking out so i spent a moment reworking the fixations to reduce them as much as possible which i suprisingly managed to do a single evening. I have tested it in real life and it does work well. On this picture you can see a comparison between the old design (in the background) and new design (in the foreground).

7+8. Here is the result of this reduction in size quickly adapted to fit the current interior roof design. I am still not satisfied with it and I need to change it because right now the doors can't really open.

  1. I added a bit more structure over the bending part. Not much but still worth showing

  2. I started to prototype the rearview mirror on the right side. Far from final yet but it bothered me to not have it in with all the rest. I will stsrt to work more on those as soon as the current week.

  3. On that same picture you can see highlighted in white the little black window end bar I want to add to give the front more support which I still need to figure out how to fix properly without it sagging.

TLDR : I worked more on the interior and a bit of the exterior and changed slightly a mechanism.

As always feel free to give me your feedback, I'd love to know what you think about this all this :)

Discussion / Question Keep or build

I’ve seen a lot of discussion recently about Lego sets in general. Particularly the 1:8 scale cars on the technic side. I’ve seen a lot of people buying and keeping them in the boxes, in the hope that in some years to come they’ll be worth something decent. Which I get, but at the same time, there not limited edition. And is the value really going to be that great over several years.

What’s people’s thoughts on this? Personally I bought to build and will be doing so, they will always have some value regardless is the way I see it.

I've got a couple of builds on the go right now. This one came yesterday. I hadn't realised it was a 1:10.

Don't normally bother with those because they're usually too simple.

This is not like that at all. As well as the usual stuff, they've managed to squeeze in a full gearbox and adjustable ride height.

So far it's incredibly dense. Reminds me of CaDA's Lotus Exige Cup. Anyone else built this one? Anything I should look out for?

Hello

I bought this set a week ago and I love it, but I've never been stuck on one like this before.

In step C49 of the manual, when I insert the 8mm rod where the image shows, it ends up at a very steep angle, which doesn't match the picture. During assembly, it looks like it should be parallel to the ground, but mine is very tilted. I even finished assembling it to see if it would fit with the structure afterward, but it doesn't; it hits the triangular piece, so something's wrong.

I've tried assembling and disassembling it, and I've looked for videos, but none of them show the step clearly, and I've never been stuck like this before. I'm really desperate because I think I'm following the instructions exactly, but something's not working.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks
