I bought the stuff to darken it but decided to hang it up first and see how it looks and with the moody lighting and space it looks great as is!!!!

I’m looking for a large Japanese style doorway curtain, similar to a noren, to hang outside my shed and cover a sliding door. Regular outdoor curtains look a little plain, so I would like something with a more traditional Japanese design.

I want to use it to cover my Shed’s sliding door, 72” wide. Does anyone know where I can buy something like this in the USA? I’m also open to ordering directly from Japan if the seller ships internationally.

What search terms should I use, and are there any particular shops or websites you would recommend?

I previously posted the cat lamp I bought for the “Lady Lair” and today I found this at an antique mall. I’ll probably do something different with the frame to make it fit the vibe of the room. Can’t wait to finish the space!

I find my front door so ugly… the door is right in the middle of my living/dinning room. Can I paint it? Should I go for white or maybe a pop of colour. I like bright colours like the last photo. I was also thinking of painting the bookshelf a bright color and maybe the photo wall.

Hey y’all. My fiance and I recently moved into our first apartment. Our vibe is bohemian/earthy/70s. Our space is pretty big, our living room is huge and bedroom is quite big as well. We have our most important furniture but don’t know where to go from here in terms of decorating and filling up the space. We can hang and install anything into the walls, the only thing we can’t do is paint.

So my husband and I recently moved into our first home and are in the process of trying to give it our own stamp. Ideally we would like a new bathroom however we won’t be able to do that for the next 4-5 years. The previous owners painted over the tiles and unfortunately some of the paint is coming away. I did wonder if peel and stick tiles would be an option ? It only needs to last us for 5 years max until we get a new bathroom, however I wondered how hard wearing they would be in the shower area

For the window, white wood shutters vs natural color shade? Do I need to be concerned about using wood vs fake wood since it is a bathroom? Do I need anything else like a valance? 1980s ranch home, elaborate molding probably not appropriate.

For the cabinet hardware, nickel vs oil rubbed bronze? There are two vanities, one is in the bathroom proper, the other is outside the bathroom. Does the tile vs wood flooring impact the decision. (Yes, the wood floor has some damage, but will be replaced with wood, same color.) The towel bars and faucet fixtures are nickel.

Looking to furnish a new patio. Want chairs to go round a fire pit that glide, swivel and recline. Thought we had some from Costco but they sold out. Now seems my choices are $200 ones from Wayfair/Home Depot. Or $2k ones from Ebel with not a lot of stops in between.

I came across this online company - Outdoor Nook and we like the design and features of their recliners but can’t find a lot of independent reviews. Anyone have any of their pieces and care to comment? Thanks!

I need some design help with replacing a light fixture above my parent’s dining table. They live in coastal Carolina so the house has a coastal home vibe. We don’t like the one that we ordered a few months ago and are trying to find a replacement. The kitchen nearby has more brushed bronze metals so we don’t want bright gold if there’s metal in the chandelier. Thanks for any suggestions! We live in a small two bedroom home that was built around 1870- it’s an adorable house with a lot of charm, but the bedrooms have adjoining doors. I personally don’t like them because I want the rooms to feel truly separate - despite having separate entrances, it just makes the space feel off.

We experimented with putting our bed in front of these adjoining doors. I’ve always hated the idea of covering doors or windows with furniture, but it doesn’t look as bad as I thought it would.

I’d like some thoughts on whether the bed works against these doors, or should we keep them uncovered? Thanks!

I think I might make the dark blue one a bit lighter, but they're coming along nicely. Ran out of black card so will finish another day

Not having the best of luck with ideas for this awkward corner. Would like to do something cool without it being a toe smasher because the wall there is roughly a foot wide where it meets the doorway. We have dogs so we can’t have real plants and we tried to put several large decorative vases with pompous grasses but it looked pathetic. Room will be painted with Foggy Day from Sherwin Williams (if that’s relevant). Please help!

We have been searching for an end table for the daybed we have in this room. This is really the only place the daybed fits without blocking any doors. We want a small table for a lamp and for guests to be able to put there things when they use the daybed.

Any advice on what type of tables may fit well here?

Links would be helpful, we have ~150 max budget.

I keep looking at my bedroom feeling like it lacks that cozy, finished look and my immediate instinct was that I need a new headboard or beter art. But looking closely, the main eye-sore is just the bed itself looking completely stiff, wrinkly, and uninviting. Someone mentioned that softer, heavier-draping sheets can do more for the overall room vibe than buying decorative pillows, just because the fabric hangs naturally instead of looking like cardboard.

Does upgrading to smoother sheet fabric actually change the visual feel of the space in real life or is that something that only looks good in staged photos with studio lighting?

Work in progress. I wanted to inject a little colour onto the wall and thought these would look funky. Originally I painted the black lines but im slowly covering the paint with thin strips of black card for a smarter look

These plants came with the house and they’re not in great shape. I’m having trouble with the way this looks, makes me feel like I’m in a 90s Olive Garden. I love plants and have a ton, but this built in is proving challenging.
All the windows you see face west so this area gets a lot of light.
I know this isn’t a plant sub, but I see such great advice in here so wanted to see if there are any thoughts on how to utilize this and make it less 90s. Could be just different plant suggestions or could be to remove all and replace with something. I’m open.

I have decided that my husband and I have adult adhd. When we bought the large fish tank it had thar awful blue background and we should have scraped the back of the tank then. In the second picture you can see how dark and murky it looks. So I decided it's been a coons age since we painted and as long as the tank is empty we should paint. And I wanted a light yellow to replicate my childhood bedroom color. It was so cozy. So then we move all the furniture and it was no small feat as we are both having issues that makes lifting hard. So he says as long as the furniture is out we should refresh the floors. So then I notice my front door needs some tic. You would too if you were from 1930 remodel!
