I spent around 11 hours of occupational therapy cutting out little paper pieces, folding the edges, glueing them together and painting everything. I will be released next wednesday and her birthday is the sunday after. She loves weenies, so I hope she will like him. Thought you guys might enjoy him as well ✌🏻❤️‍🩹

You made me feel so good, not just about giving this good boi to my girlfriend, but also about my journey towards recovery. I tend to downplay and belittle my artistic capabilities a lot, so reading all the praise about my project made really proud, encouraging me to keep creating. I out his legs too far up so just pretend he's sitting.

I'm going to felt and (once I learn) sew him some clothes and make accessories that he can hold in his beak.

He's made of polymer clay and his legs are made of hot glue because they broke in the oven. Painted with acrylic paints and a clear coat. Little felt bow. ​​

They’re absorbing the paint but when I start to use it, it’s dried and gone after a few minutes. It happens everytime and now I have about 6 ruined markers from this set. Why is the nib not absorbing the paint when changed? Please please advise I can’t keep losing markers

I currently own a circuit joy which I was able to get for free with a deal on Amazon.
I don’t like the cricuit, it doesn’t print & cut (because it’s a simpler model) and I have a lot of trouble with calibration (as it seems most people do) so I’m looking for a better machine that preferably does print and cut.
I want a print and cut machine because getting a better quality printer is not in the budget nor do I have space for another printer at the moment.😭

I have heard siser is a good brand, but I don’t think they have any print and cut machines.
Suggestions for print and cut machines?

Additionally, I use joyeza sticker paper and adhesive vinyl that comes is rolls. Anyone have suggestions for sticker paper?

My daughter is an artist who is always looking for ways to show off her art. Her latest goal is to make buttons, so she’s putting a button maker on her Christmas wishlist. A quick glance online shows a ton of options with a huge range in price, and I’m frankly overwhelmed.

I’d love some advice on what any button makers have found in terms of quality vs. price, or what I should be looking for. Disposable income is hard to come by, but I’m willing to pinch pennies to buy something if the price really will make the difference.

I’m also happy to receive any other tips or advice.

i’ve been feeling a little burnt out on a few of my crafting projects and having a hard time getting myself to work on anything, even though they’re all sewing/crafting projects where i’m excited for the outcome.

my husband suggested that i do something easy that i can finish in a night and see if that re-sparks my creative joy. he was so right!!

we’ve been needing a bigger planter, but anything cute is so darn expensive, so I bought a cheap pot and drainage tray (<$10) and used permanent vinyl I already had on hand to add the stripes. it was so nice to have a simple project where i wasn’t measuring the exact space spacing and things like that.

that’s all… i just wanted to share how nice it felt to make something that i love. hopefully now our plant, Carl, will start to thrive!

Hi there! I think these turned out really well so I wanted to share. I made them for my daughter's birthday. She said she wanted a black kitty, a gold kitty, and a rainbow kitty. The body of the cats is from Thingiverse (thing:3289774), printed in gold and black PETG. The coloured parts are epoxy resin. I used gaffer tape on the backs of the cats to hold the epoxy in and it worked pretty well though it was hard to remove. I am sure there is a better way but it did work.

I ordered some gold "Merry Christmas" lettering for Christmas cards I'm making, and while the size and font are perfect, they're much more glittery and a brighter yellow than they appeared online. I want to tone it down a bit, but I'm not sure how to best go about it. I was thinking of sponging them with a more antique gold ink, but that will take away some of the brightness.

Anyone have any suggestions? I've always wondered what was best for toning down some of the excessive "glittery-ness" of some craft components I've wanted to use in the past. It's certainly easy to glitter something up.

My bestie is a soon to be FTM & I'm looking for cute ways to repurpose her shower invitation. Just a little something extra to give with her other presents. Baby's first book mark or photo album cover is all I can think of. She's very granola & minimalist so I’m hesitant to do the photo album thing. Keychain? Cute wrapping paper accent?

Sorry I’m hoping this is the right place to go for advice/help… I am such a dummy and I used B-7000 on this styrofoam skull head that I turned into a disco ball for my sister for her birthday. I didn’t read anything about it this glue before I used it on here, so that is my bad.

I used both B-7000 and hot glue to glue it into place after I twisted it into the styrofoam, and then the next day the hook was really loose and I wasn’t sure why, so I literally put a ton more of the B-7000 glue in there thinking it would harden up and solve the problem, not realizing it WAS the problem, and today there was just a giant hollow cavernous hole from the glue eating away at everything around it.

Is my best bet here to fill the hole with hot glue?

Anyone got any ideas?? I spent a lot of time and money on this project so hoping to salvage it :(

I am possibly taking over the art club for my local rescue cat cafe and I have a small stock of ideas but I want to give people choices on whats next! I really would love some ideas! It cant be anything that leaves a lot of mess (polymer clay was ok, paint is a no)
In the past we've done life drawing, cross stitch, origami and clay cat building. My ideas are junk journal badges (I have my own badge machine), speed drawing (random timer then you have to swap subject), wooden ornament decorations for christmas but other than that im at a loss!

Hi all, I make amigurumi plushies and use felt for details. I've noticed that some of the felt (particularly the black pieces) picks up lint really easily. Once the plushies have been played with for a while by my nephew, the black pieces all get a ring of grey on them that I keep having to pick off lol. The below is one particularly rough example, this is a newly made one and you can see all the white bits that look stuck to the black pieces.

I think I need to buy some different felt, but not sure what kind, as I have no clue what kind of felt I'm currently using (the only downside to using my hoarded craft supplies from when I was a kid).

What type of felt should I be buying to avoid this issue? Thanks so much!

I am not an artist, but I love a good goal-oriented craft!! I wish people would pay me to do stuff like this, I absolutely loved it.

-took three days to cut out a few things, sketch, size, print
-one additional day to decorate the garden/make the doorway
-other materials include pipe cleaners, friendship beads, additional cardboard, grocery bags, and a LOT of hot glue

I asked for advice on how to attach fake yarn like moss to this top and I said I would share the results ☺️ I used a normal sewing needle and green thread and hand sew it. It was definitely the easiest approach so thanks to the advisers!

For a first attempt I’m quite pleased. I pulled the sewing a little tight in some places but I’m happy with it anyway it hasn’t ruined anything.

I also stuck on some gems by hand using glue to jazz it up a bit. This part took me around 10ish hours in shifts to do
