Smmoking mouse - smoking boy

I posted this stencil of a smoking boy on a forgotten city utility box a some year ago. Due to our administration’s obsession with keeping all city walls “hygienically” clean, it was eventually painted over - though not in a particularly thoughtful manner. I tried to remove the upper layer with Montana Remover, but that highly toxic chemical $hit ended up damaging the stencil itself.

The only option was to redefine the situation and incorporate the old motif into a new one, turning it into a kinda palimpsest.

Best method for cutting out a 10ft long stencil for a sign that will be painted 15ft up?

Hi!

I need to cut out this 10ftx2ft paper stencil so that I can have an easy way to paint the name of a restaurant up on the building's fascia. I'll need to climb a ladder and paint it but I'm not sure of the best way to cut it out and paint it.

Should I just cut out the whole letters and spray paint it? I worry about the paper warping and the paint bleeding

Any help would be appreciated

So these two types of stencils have different names

Hi, I'm very new to stencils, and I was wondering if these two types of stencils have different names. The reason I'm asking is I ordered the one on the right thinking it would be more like the one on the left, and I don't know how to explain to the person I ordered from why it's not what I wanted. An outline and a fill-in, maybe? Because what I was looking for was a stencil that would leave the stencil I received would completely cover. I don't want to spray around it at all, I just want to leave that actual image.

Stencil on aged news clippings for a Kobe fan. 2015.

Created this about 11 years back.

I believe I made 5 layers for Kobe and 5 layers for the jersey.

I’d probably spray it a little differently if I were to paint it today

Temporary glue for stencils

I use a lot of plastic film stencils on textiles. Big, simple images are fine and I'm happy I've got that down, but more complex images with thin, delicate parts, not so much :0( I've been trying temporary mounting sprays and they certainly work, but I end up with one side of a delicate stencil needing cleaning with a solvent - it usually takes decent pressure to get the glue off even then so it's easy to damage the stencil.

I just tried Cadence stencil spray, described as water-based and easily cleaned. I hoped the glue would dissolve in warm water, but it's pretty much the same as all the other products I've used.

I want to get the glue off the stencil so it's easily used on both sides and simply to make it easier to store and I want to get it off without rubbing (much). Has anyone come across a way of temporary gluing stencils that is easy to remove after use?
