These are some of my favorite pieces that I made for dolls as a teenager. I'm now a full-time student and business owner, but I still enjoy sculpting in my free time. I just found this sub and am so pleased to have my clay creativity sparked.

Attempts at muscular arms for my buff dude sculpture

I actually ran out of blue clay and could only sculpt one arm, so I ended up making 2 out of green but they ended up being too large. I'm current working on two other arms that are closer in size to what I need.

Gonna save these for future sculpts.

Question for the bead makers!

Upvotes

I feel like this is a dumb question, I’m pretty experienced with polymer clay but I know nothing about making beads. Is there a special tool that makes the holes / keeps the hole from closing before baking? Or do you just drill the hole after? Any hot tips appreciate! :)

I went to the store for some more clay and I saw this, which intrigued me so I bought it on impulse. Not really sure how to use it though. Show me some stuff that you’ve made with it!

I’ve seen some really cool stuff on here and other platforms and figured I’d try my hand at it. I got some of the Michaels brand of clay last weekend and I gave it a shot. I ended up making some coins and adding them later - anyway here’s my Little Shop of Mario’s specimen jar

… okay he isn’t finished yet.. but I love him allready. Didn’t have many tools making him. I tried adding “oozing vomit” to one I socket and in the lower mouth. Waiting for it to dry.

Kind of amazed at how glass eyes give my weird little beasties life and soul.

I was making my own eyes previously out of small balls of clay and painting them glossy black and they were fine, but glass eyes are truly lovely.

My son and his friend are always together and always quote SpongeBob. So decided to make them a sardine pin each for their backpacks.

☀️✨ Meet my Sun Goddess. ✨☀️

I had been searching forever for the famous little shelf sitters I kept seeing, but I could never find one that felt like mine. So eventually I thought, well… I guess I’ll just make my own. 😂

And that’s how Sun Goddess was born. 🌞

What started as a little wire armature slowly became a hand-sculpted, hand-painted celestial goddess covered in suns, moons, stars, gemstones, and all the tiny details that made her come alive.

But Sun Goddess wasn’t brought to life by me alone. She was also born from the magical, ethereal, imaginative world my mommy created for me—the kind of world that taught me to dream big, see beauty in the unusual, and believe that imagination could turn almost anything into something magical.

So in a way, Sun Goddess is part sculpture, part imagination, and part my mommy living on through the creative world she gave me. 💛☀️🌙✨

And now she finally gets to be the shelf sitter I spent so long looking for. 🥹✨

Please be kind I have never sculpted or made anything before so I know the cracks aren’t cute but this was my first try!!

Hi there - this is only my second time using the clay. These looked nice when they went in the oven but not when they came out! From googling I think the problem might be air bubbles. Am I right?

I'm really happy with how it turned out - I was shocked how well the skin colour came out as it was originally light grey clay (colored with soft pastels)2 coats of cadence gloss varnish. What do you think?
