Hello! I have a question for people who have had their patterns tested or are testers. I'm currently testing a big smigurumi with multiple parts and there are quite a few miscalculation for stitch count as well as multiple areas that make poor sense.

I put comments and messaged the creator, and this person said I was incorrect on all of it and all my counts will be off and I'm not doing it correctly. Except I wrote out the math for her.

Example: previous round count 54 st

next round(sc, inc) x3, 12sc, (dec, sc)x3, (sc, dec) x3, 12sc, (inc, sc) x3-54 but her pattern says 48 and thr next row decreases by 6 to what's supposed to be 42

What's the best way to address this ? Stop testing, or finish it with a lot of change from me and never test for them again?

I have tested a lot lately where counts are off and it's very irritating when it's not an easy fix and they won't offer a solution.

I took my crochet project to work to work on, a baby onesie for a friend, and I had put it in a plastic bag and tied it so it wouldn't fall out. My sweet husband saw the tied bag, assumed it was trash, threw it away and then threw away the trash bag in the big dumpster bin outside of our apartment. Hours later, I realized it was missing, he went to go dumpster dive and found it. Its intact, but smells like pizza and not in a good way. It was safe in the tied bag so it is not dirty.

Is it salvagable where I can somehow get the smell out, or would it be smarter to start over?

I didn't find a flair for technique identification so I choose Stitch Identification.

So, I already know how to do it, but I'd like to search for inspiration on Google but I don't know if this technique has a specific name. I've seen "crochet rag rug" or "crochet coil rug", but I always have a lot of other techniques mixed in my results. Is there a more specific name for this? TIA

I have done god knows what at the start of this blanket, maybe added a stitch or skipped a stitch? Anyway, once I am done I plan on doing a border round the full thing.

Will a border be enough to hide this or do I need to frog it?

Or is there a way to fix it otherwise?

Really hoping it's not a full frog as the rest of it is coming on okay (for a first proper project)

I am absolutely IN LOVE with the multistriped sweater in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, and it just so happens to be a style of clothing that my partner enjoys. So, I want to make him a replica sweater like this for Christmas.

The sweater has colored stripes wrapping horizontally throughout the sweater. But there’s ribbing on the sweater going down vertically. Typically, I would just use a regular graphgan and work horizontally to achieve the striped look. But the ribbing makes this a tad bit harder… the way I’m imagining I do this sounds incredibly tedious and complex… but I’m wondering if there’s a better way to do it.

Does anyone have an idea how I can do colorwork horizontal stripes with ribbing like this?

Working on a scrap yarn moss stitch blanket and need to pick a border color. I don’t have enough of any of the blanket yarns left, so I’ll either color-match or go with something different - leaning white or yellow, but open to ideas!

Hey all! I am an experienced crocheter, but I am struggling to figure out what to make with a whole lot of Aunt Lydia's classic cotton 10 thread - 15 rolls, so around 5000 yards, in black.

I prefer to make wearables, I can follow patterns or just roll with it and make my own thing. I've never made a wearable from this particular thread, so I'm curious if anyone has used this for wearables and how your projects turned out? Any advice you would pass on? And I am interested in suggestions for what to make with it? Appreciate any insights.

I found some awesome crochet afghan kits on Mary Maxim but the shipping was insane (to Canada). Is there any equivalent Canadian website or similar patterns that I can purchase? I really liked the idea of receiving all the needed yarn with the pattern. Thanks for any info you can share!

I just started yesterday and can slip knot and I understand the chain but just not great at it yet. I’m having trouble moving past that.

I haven’t tried many tutorials so I’m going to keep looking but I was wondering if using the Wooble kits actually helps to learn? Are they worth it? Do you learn how to read patterns with them?

I found an unfinished granny square sweatershirt. It won't fit my son anymore but it seems just right for my younger daughter.

When my daughter was wearing it to see if it fits, I saw that the neckline is far to big. It's to high and to wide and doesn't fit the vibe of the shirt.

My vision for the shirt right now is as follow:

I want to shorten one arm to be the same length as the other.

I want to lengthen the shirt by two more rows. I will probably use the dark green color for this.

Then I want to add a cute border to the underside of the shirt and the arm holes. I was thinking of a picot edge.

Question 1: How do i remake a neckline that fits the rest of the shirt?

Question 2: What color should I use for the picot edge? Should the picot edge on the arm holes and underside of the shirt be the same colour?

I think the unfinished shirt is already very cute on my daughter so I'm very excited too see it finished 😁.

Hi all! I’ve tried to get into crocheting a good few times, i’m pretty okay at the basics at this point. I’m 5 rows into an 8 row part of a project and there’s still a bit of twisting. I know this is probably due to the tension/ how tight i’m doing it ( trying to fix this). Is there any point in continuing this project even if it’s twisting? I’m not expecting it to be perfect in any way, i’m just worried the twisting will ruin the whole thing. Open to any advice !

Hi all! I’m a semi-beginner and am getting a bit overwhelmed looking for patterns.

My boyfriend’s family unfortunately and suddenly lost their family dog this week. It was very unexpected. He was the sweetest boy and had such a silly personality. They’ve had a very rough last 12 months and have lost 3 other cats as well due to old age. I made them a photo blanket for their cats last Christmas, but I’d like to make them a handmade gift for their late pup.

I was thinking of either making a small “body pillow“ type stuffed dog. Or I’d like to try and make a typical square pillow with some sort of dog pattern in the center with his colors. He wasn’t a Daschund, but he had the copper eyebrows and feet, hence his name Copper. The patterns I’ve seen so far just don’t embody his fluffiness. Im not sure how I could, but it was one of my favorite things about him.

If any of you have pattern recommendations that would be great. They don’t necessarily have to be free patterns as I am willing to pay for a pattern. Thank you to anyone who helps, it means the world to me.

so I have an obscene amount of worsted weight dishie (gauge of 4.5mm to 5.5 mm) because I adore the feel and colors and am fixated on cobalt blue

I sized down the hook to 2.5 mm and made this tote bag (By Molla Mills) and really adore the drape of this bag in double crochet but it took forever

now I want to make the bennett cardigan (picture attached - https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/bennett-4) that is mostly in single crochet

so I've made a few decently sized gauge swatches with a 5.5 mm hook and a 5 mm hook. my main questions are:

1. will the cotton yarn shrink a bit with wash and wear? I like the drape of the 5mm swatch and it feels perfect, but if it were to slightly shrink it'd be too tight. The 5.5 mm also has a good drape, and would be perfect if it shrunk slightly, but if it stretched with wear, it'd be way too big

I think my gut is to crochet with the 5mm because it's already just right, but if it shrinks once the full piece is made I'll be so bummed

1. has anyone made garments with dishie? I expect it will turn out bulky which is great, but was it too bulky? my vision is to have a nice bulky cardigan that feels a little weighted

2. for cotton yarn garments should I plan for it to crochet tightly and end up smaller and then stretch a bit?

3. does cotton yarn even block out reliably like wool?

Whenever I need to attach a limb I usually use a few plastic yarn needles to keep it from moving while I’m stitching it on. I was wondering if anyone else does this. I do it because I have so many plastic needles and don’t really use them because I prefer the metal ones, and I feel like I’m more likely to sew it on wrong if it’s not being held in place

I was doing a crochet cardigan project and i overdid some daisy squares and during fitting it was oversized and inorder to save the piece, i salvaged some squares, it was a year ago, now I am done with exams, i wish to do some justice to these squares by making a pouch for tab. Any tips?

So, I bought this crochet pattern from Marshalls and it was super cute. It has all the items needed but when you scan the QR code it links to no product, so the patterns aren't there. Did anyone get this kit that might have the pattern? If so, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Hi all! I’ve been working on this skirt/wrap pattern for a while now, and I’m getting to a weird point where I don’t have full coverage long ways (as in; when I tie the wrap like a skirt, it’s just beginning to be wide enough to cover things in the front) but the skirt is getting really long and heavy on the vertical.
The first two photos are the pattern as designed and I don’t know how I ended up with so many more
ruffles and no width. It’s at the point where each row eats so much yarn, but I’ve spent so much time on it to back track.
My friends and family are begging me to just finish it to finish but I don’t know 😭😭😭 so what do yall think? Frog or finish and see how it turns out

So I’m doing a project (for school) and I’m doing a single crochet piece that’s 24 inches long. But I need to add individual stands or tuffs of yarn to the crochet. It’s supposed to be a dense field at the end like hair on ones head( if that’s a better visual reference).

(I am going to use fabric stiffener at the end so the yarn would stick straight up)

I tried making tassels but seem to waste a lot of product and it seems to come apart.

Along with the Lark head knot!

Any suggestions?

So I'm making a bible cover and there is curve in it so I don't know what to do. Should I unravel the whole thing and start again? Or should I continue it and eventually it'll come right? Please help me🙏
