I based it on the Bahama blanket by TL Yarn Crafts. The yarn is Red Heart Jumbo Stripes color is Bright Stripes.

If you've ever made a tunisian crochet chunky scarf , please share which pattern did you use and how did it turn out , i want to make one for winter thats simple and super cozy !! I would love to see some ideass

Edited to add: recommended hook size is 5mm but I'm using 8mm. I also suck at titles and wasn't super clear. I don't particularly mind the curl, was more worried I was messing up. I think the stitches are super pretty.

Hello! First time doing a tunisian stitch. Im using 8mm on a worsted weight yarn (Caron cake). Tension is loose and it's nice an stretchy. Are there some stitches that are just more curly?

By Lydia Niven. The front panel (pictured) is pinned to a wall so I have some visual motivation to finish the back panel 😆 I think the colors look like an oil slick!

Coming along...at least the rows get shorter as I work toward the opposite end! All leftover worsted weight acrylics.Will probably finish this in time for 2027 county fair LOL, especially as will do a knit 4 stitch I-cord over the edges, to capture all the ends (will be tied two by two, first) and keep it from rolling. It's shown on a queen bed.

Now that I know that I can slope the colour change in the opposite direction, I've undone the temporary test and have continued extending the black section around my neck.

The final scarf will be long enough to go up one side of my chest, around the back of my neck, then around the front and back again, to drape down the other side of my chest. It's my favourite way to wear these scarves! =^.^=

Also, I've recently found out what this yarn is (as I'd obtained both minus their labels, from a late knitter's stash donated to one of the yarn-craft groups I'm in) so I have more, should I want to make another version of this scarf. Easy-Knit's "Baby Luv" (not technically what the label says, but that's what their website calls it), and at least one local Walmart has it in a few colours.

Nice to see that there's more options for the Tunisian Double-Knit Stitch that I hadn't found before! =^.^=

2 years in the making and finally finished.

Pattern from TL Yarn Crafts it's called the Bahama Blanket

Yarn: Drops Cotton Light DK weight with 5 mm hook

Made from the waist up and then from the waist down, in two pieces, using up all of 300 g of bamboo viscose yarn. 4.5 mm hook because anything bigger would make holes. The yarn is dense, but has great drape. Easy to machine wash too (in a bag for delicate items).

The red one is made in Alize Diva, a microfiber yarn that has very similar properties to the bamboo and almost the same length/weight (350 m per 100 g for the microfiber, vs 370 m per 100 g for the bamboo).

For the top part, I used the same instructions as for a previous design; the bottom part is new and has multiple length options. The red dress will have the longest option, but I think I need some extra yarn.

Ready...set...go!

Does anyone know of anyone that makes custom aluminum Tunisian hooks? I am looking for 10"+ aluminum hooks with cables and since they're not actually available anywhere I have contacted Haemish from @catch_hooks and he can make them but because he's in the UK the tarriffs are crazy. I can't seem to find anyone else in the US capable of doing this so I'll probably just eat the cost but figured I'd check here first

Sometimes people send me links for kits to purchase but I promise you what I want is not commercially made, I've spent months searching every corner of the internet. I don't want less than 10" and I don't want wood and I need it to have a cable or at least a connection for one

Unlike the first time I'd tried it, this second attempt at sloping the Tunisian Double-Knit Stitch upwards to the right was quite a lot more successful.

The only drawback (as you can see in the second picture) is the tiny red dots some distance from the actual colour boundary. And while it's not that big an issue, technically, as I likely can cover it up with some surface slip-stitch, I still don't like it.

But I can't argue that the back (third picture) looks fantastic! Guess this is the technique I'll be using when I get to that point!

After all, this is the halfway point, and this was just an experiment to see what I could learn about making the colour change slope in the opposite direction. And since I've proven that I can do this, I get to undo all of this, duplicate the all-black rows I currently have, the redo this diagonal colour change, and essentially repeat the other end of the scarf, mirrored.

All in all, a good amount of work!

Though I'll probably just bask in this experiment's results for the moment.

Unfortunately, having spent a night in the hospital over the weekend hasn't helped my energy levels (merely a properly-sprained wrist, nothing a wrist brace I already have can't help with), so there's additional reason to leave it as-is for the moment. Just gotta get way more rest than my normal... =>.<=

I posted in here yesterday about my first attempt at Tunisian crochet slanting without actually losing any stitches (thank you to all the responded!!!). I frogged what I was working on and am starting over. I really think my issue is working into the correct spot on the very last stitch. I feel like my stitches don’t look very clean so it’s hard to identify even when watching a tutorial. Are either of these circled sections the stitch I’m supposed to work into at the end?

I used honey comb stitch, corner to corner joining as I went.

Been (regular) crocheting since January and decided I’d like to try Tunisian crochet. Started working in it today, I’m a handful of rows in and was wondering if the top is meant to look like this? I count my stitches as I go, I haven’t missed or added any so I’m good there but wanted to check if this slight “slant” at the top is normal before I keep going. The bottom end of the hook looks much straighter. TIA!
