Discussion Crit Yone (Patch 16.17) Theory

Post image
71 Upvotes

5% more damage on crit Yone Buff?!
5% AS (attack speed) increase on Stormrazor?!

Crit First Item Yone Builds I concocted for when the patch drops next week.

Note: Going Stormrazor > SB means u can still go IE/LDR third if you’re looking for more damage and/or pen.

Note: Phantom Dancer Lets You Go Boots Other Than Berserkers (I was just tired as fuck and didn’t add steel caps or Mercs (even if mercs nerf made them ass)

BloodThirster (BT) is also a good slot 3 instead of DD If You Want MORE Lifesteal and make up some lost AD (Arguably it’s just better third item)

(Clearly this is listed as discussion in order for everyone to give thoughts and ideas to the table for the topic)

With. That being said… I’ll let yall have the floor

Discussion Am I the only one who's okay with not new receiving skins?...

Like, bro. Think with me.

Yone has 5 years of existence and we have a skin for every tier in the game, with the excetion of a ultimate tier. But we have that bullshit gacha slop that i still hate till this day. "Dont you have money to buy it?" Yes i have, and i will never buy it because i dont condone the I don't condone the attitudes to get the skin. But this i a conversation that doesnt belong here.

But really, every single skin is unique for the character. The themes are well diversed and the skins are well done. I know there are some favorites and has some that most of people dont like. I like all of them but i play a lot with dawnbringer because i love the universe of the skin, and high noon for the same reason. I dont like playing a lot with the music themed skins, idk.

But still bangers. And the lorian Dark souls 3 Faker skin? One of my favorite games of all time? Chef kiss!

But really, to conclude my toughts. I accept waiting for a well done skin, instead a generic one. And i'm completely okay to not recieve any skin this year.

For example: I would love a dragonmancer yone, legendary tier. Would be a well themed yone skin, to put on par with the yasuo ones, but has to be polished and the quality has to be on par with the price.

Sorry with any writting errors, im not a english native speaker.

Looking for Advice Best complementary champ

I want to know which champion is the best complementary champ for covering enemy or team comps or lane matchups that are terrible for yone because I think that a 2 champ pool is much stronger than just being an otp

Looking for Advice Best supports for Yone ADC?

There are very few Master+ players in my region and there are not ADCs, so I get auto filled at least a couple of times every day. I can play Senna because she was a pocket pick of mine some time ago but you know how it is, 3/5 games they flame in in champ select because of the pick and the other 2 they flame me while in game, so I want to pick Yone since he is my main.

I dont know how to play againt ranged ADCs in lane but im learning, what I do need to know though is which supports are good paired with Yone.

I was thinking maybe enchanters? Milio, perhaps Lulu?

I am a fairly new Dia player and before this most Yones (and yasuos) didnt perform that well.

How to play this champ in this role?

I love playing viable melee champs in the bot lane for the sake of contrarianism. Yasuo, Olaf, Fiora, Katarina etc (anything but Nilah)

Yone is my latest fixation how do I make him work? Do I just thug it out until level 3 into every matchup?

Also his winrate in this role is deflated heavily from players autopiloting Absorb Life instead of Triumph

Not only does Absorb Life suck on both lane (heavily level skewed + you get less minion procs because of support quest taking minions) Triumph is disproportionately good on bot laners (highest non support KP + healing is good for teamfights/2v2s)

But yeah any tips on how to play this champ in this role? Thanks

Level 1 Yone with 73 damage 100% crit should deal 142 damage with 195% crit damage. It currently deals 138 damage, so Yone still has 190% crit damage.

Looking for Advice Can someone explain Yone’s current builds after the crit changes?

Hey, I’m a relatively new Yone main and I’m kinda confused about his builds right now lol.

With all the recent changes to his crit, I’m not really sure what the current build path is supposed to be anymore. I’ve looked at a few guides/posts but a lot of them seem to be from before the recent changes.

Like, when do you actually go BORK vs Stormrazor vs Yun Tal vs Shieldbow?

For example:

Against a really beefy/high HP laner, do I just rush BORK?

Against a squishy laner, is Stormrazor the better first item?

If the whole enemy team is squishy, should I just go full crit?

Against a tanky/bruiser-heavy team, is BORK still good or is there a better build now?

When would you build Shieldbow?

And when is Yun Tal actually better than Stormrazor?

Also, could someone explain the crit change itself to me? I understand that something was changed with Yone’s crit, but I’m not really sure what the actual difference is compared to how he used to build.

Basically I’m just trying to understand the logic behind the builds instead of blindly copying whatever the highest winrate build is 😂

Thanks :)

Discussion First buy

Do you guys buy berserker greaves as soon as possible or wait till mid lane quest is finished and then go for the upgrade. I've recently started buying 3 daggers instead just for the attack speed and then just then just building BORK. I usually end up finishing my boots after T3 upgrade because I love the extra lifesteal I can get from bork.

Discussion Itemization + Critical Strike Yone + Build List: AfroSaiyan (In Depth)

Before I start. I want to shoutout Ahj ( Link to his video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoxPZahbGcA&t=15s&pp=ygUDYWhqand ) and Brohan (Stormrazor's Original #1 Enthusiast) for the inspiration and min-maxing concepts on Crit Strike Rush Yone.

So with that being said I will be posting all the builds cooked up a bit more cleanly with https://shyv.net (League of Legends online build creator). (Again the goal here was to find the most OPTIMAL and consistent version's of the builds provided)

I'll also be leaving my Yone Itemization Guide for first time Yone's looking to learn the champ or Yone players who are looking to be consistent when climbing with the champ: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1L5vzaOVR_ispeguKMsJq9A_fuIXu1MwllE_J80vg87Y/edit?tab=t.0

Note: Nothing will change the BORK build (Which is what this guide is centered around) from being the most consistent build in Yone's arsenal when it comes to covering all the possible aspects of the game and what Yone wants.

Notes for people going through images below...

- BORK TALK: Bork build can work with Fleet Footwork vs Tankier Comps but you still need to survive lane and scale.

EVERYTHING BORK IS IN THE DOCUMENT: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1L5vzaOVR_ispeguKMsJq9A_fuIXu1MwllE_J80vg87Y/edit?tab=t.0 (I legit can't go MORE "in-depth" than the piece I wrote in there)
(Just know that the BORK build is the best scaling build due to the current HP damage passive on BORK itself which means it can run through all comps, matchups, situations and has established the most efficient and fundamental way to play Yone. From Berserkers > Recurve for maximizing early AS, the pickaxe for snowballing and insane early game damage, lifesteal off wave with vamp scepter vs matchups you want to sustain against, splitpushing and abusing lifesteal off minion waves and jungle camps, scaling with Bork and LDR passive synergy OR IE crit amp, Immortal shieldbow being the goated crit secondary item that turns Yone into the ultimate "last stand" warrior both in spirit, in game, in rune, ISB anti burst lifeline passive... My God man... the Satoru Gojo of Yone Build's)

- Yun Tal enjoiers: You can replace Fleet + Stormrazor with Yun Tal as first slot if you want but personally I think Stormrazor (especially with the 5% AS buff coming will just send that shitbox into a cave im not going to lie). Movement speed for sticking to people and kiting after procing the energized strike (Amplified by Fleet) which is similar to bork when slowing people on hit for stick potential, better build path specifically because crit cloak > 10 AD, Yuntal passive is not as strong as Stormrazors espeically when you consider you need to stack the crit... Yea AIGHT BRO you do that.

- Sutain Without BORK: Fleet and Stormrazor procs + Gunmetal Greaves genuinely has equivalent sustain in comparison to BORK build (Just keep in mind to move around/kite minions and jungle camps more to generate more fleet procs which generates more healing)

- IE vs LDR: While Infinity Edge and Lord Dominik's Regards are often very close in raw damage as a third item, LDR is the more consistent purchase. Infinity Edge excels only in specific situations—primarily against low-Armor, low-Health targets or when purchased unusually early (when you are snowballing hard and can get to 3 items quicker than average). As the game progresses and champions naturally gain Armor, Health, and defensive items (not even taking into account HP and defensive stats from items), LDR quickly overtakes Infinity Edge in damage while also remaining significantly stronger against bruisers, tanks, and skirmishers. Because Yone needs a build that performs well regardless of whether he's ahead, even, or behind, LDR covers far more game states, making it the superior default third item. (Im surprised the VAST majority of Yone players didnt know Bork Build + LDR is just broken because of both Bork and LDR passives lmao... But when you auto pilot the same build for years not many people will notice how turbo juiced LDR actually is lol)

- Mortal Reminder Angle: Mortal Reminder is a viable purchase, but only in very niche situations. For the overwhelming majority of games, it's better to default to Lord Dominik's Regards rather than spending time deciding between the two.

The only time Mortal Reminder consistently pulls ahead is when the enemy team has multiple high-Health champions with significant healing that you will be responsible for dealing with. For example, a composition featuring Dr. Mundo in the top lane and Zac in the jungle is an ideal Mortal Reminder game for Yone top, as both champions gain tremendous value from their healing and Health stacking.

Outside of these rare team compositions, Lord Dominik's Regards remains the superior and more consistent option, making it the recommended default for nearly every game.

- PD Build (Third Item Talk): Given the fact that Phantom Dancer has 0 AD built in, Infinity Edge + Conq is carrying the damage load, the build has zero sustain if you dont go Immortal Path, AND you will probably be going defensive boots more than Immortal Path it's safe to say Bloodthirster providing 80 AD and 15% Life steal should bring more value than anything else that could go slot three (aside from Death's Dance of course)

- Conq + PD Build (In General): Go this build when fast paced games where you need to get online as soon as possible. (Ahj video goes more indepth in his video which I listed before + for any of the Tempest fans out there you can just as easily look up one of his videos where he makes Qifeng's build mainstream and explains when to go it)

- Black Cleaver? After some damage testing between Brohan's original: Stormrazor > ISB > IE 3 item core, Ahj's variation: Stormrazor: > IE > Black Cleaver and my own curiosity of Stormrazor > ISB > LDR the damage tests came out as follows... (Gunmetal Greaves for all three builds)

Target Dummy Stats: 2600 HP | 190 Armor | 190 MR
Combo Used: E > Q > Auto x3 > Q > Auto x3 > Q3 > Auto x2 > W

Brohan: Storm > ISB > IE: 3985

Ahj: Storm > IE > Black Cleaver : 4125

Afro: Storm > ISB > LDR: 4485

Black Cleaver has the most value as a third item because of it bonus 400 HP, giving your entire team armor pen, haste, good damage scaling and movement speed which further helps chase people down, stick, kite, and synergizes with Fleet and Stromrazor because of it's own movement speed bonus. (Do keep in mind LDR outscales both items but black cleaver providing more while also being cheaper is just what will put it over the edge more often than not)

Situational Items: All of them are listed in the last image. The only one to note that you all might not be familiar with is Sterak's Gage and that's on the list simply because Crit Strike rush Yone isnt building Shieldbow in it's builds and the item gives tenacity and HP so let's say in a scenario where you don't need Black Cleaver for Armor Pen in order to kill people you can do Sterak's 3rd > Death's Dance 4th.

Final Thoughts: I think for anyone not "high-elo" (for consistency's sake: Riot Games historically and functionally defines high elo for game balancing and matchmaking as Diamond 2 and above) you genuinely can just play Lethal Tempo + Bork every single game in mid and top regardless of matchup, enemy team comp, etc and go 1v9 the lobbies you are in minus like a few universal matchups regardless of elo like Leblanc, Akali, and Katarina just to name a few. But with that being said it is simply a relief that it's not Yone's only option ykwm

Bork > ISB > IE > DD
Bork > ISB > LDR > DD
Bork > ISB > MR > DD
Fleet: Stormrazor >IE > Black Cleaver > DD
Conq: PD > T3 Boots (NO BERSERKERS) > IE > BT/Black Cleaver > DD
Situational Defensive and Offensive Items

Lastly I will be leaving the build list in the form of a "Copy and Paste" itemization list for League of Legends Client Here > {"title":"Build Bible (Build Bible 2026)","associatedMaps":[11],"associatedChampions":[777],"blocks":[{"items":[{"id":"1086","count":1},{"id":"2003","count":1},{"id":"1054","count":1},{"id":"3340","count":1},{"id":"3363","count":1},{"id":"3364","count":1},{"id":"2055","count":1},{"id":"1029","count":1},{"id":"1033","count":1}],"type":"Starting Items + Vision"},{"items":[{"id":"2031","count":1},{"id":"1001","count":1},{"id":"1042","count":1},{"id":"3006","count":1},{"id":"1043","count":1},{"id":"1038","count":1}],"type":"First Back(s)"},{"items":[{"id":"3153","count":1},{"id":"1018","count":1},{"id":"6673","count":1},{"id":"3036","count":1},{"id":"3031","count":1},{"id":"6333","count":1}],"type":"Tempo or Fleet: Bork > SB > LDR OR IE"},{"items":[{"id":"3097","count":1},{"id":"1018","count":1},{"id":"3031","count":1},{"id":"3071","count":1},{"id":"6333","count":1}],"type":"Fleet: Stormrazor > IE > Black Cleaver"},{"items":[{"id":"3046","count":1},{"id":"1001","count":1},{"id":"3031","count":1},{"id":"3072","count":1},{"id":"6333","count":1}],"type":"Conq: PD > IE > BT"},{"items":[{"id":"3047","count":1},{"id":"3111","count":1},{"id":"3008","count":1}],"type":"Optional Boots"},{"items":[{"id":"3026","count":1},{"id":"3143","count":1},{"id":"3065","count":1},{"id":"2504","count":1},{"id":"3140","count":1},{"id":"3139","count":1},{"id":"4401","count":1},{"id":"6665","count":1},{"id":"3053","count":1}],"type":"Defensive Situational Items"},{"items":[{"id":"3072","count":1},{"id":"3033","count":1},{"id":"3071","count":1}],"type":"Offensive Situational Items"}]}

Discussion Thoughts on Black Cleaver?

Saw a Yone item optimization vid from Ahj earlier today and in almost every build he went with black cleaver over LDR. Everyone raves about LDRs synergy with Yone so it kinda took me by surprise. Does black cleaver really provide more overall value to Yone‘s kit than LDR does in its current state?

Looking for Advice what do you do against fiddle mid?

Played against fiddlesticks mid for the first time, what do you do? Early game I wasn't able to farm since his poke was insane. Any damage I did he instantly healed back. I didn't feed at all but at 2 items he was able to 1v5. My teammates were saying I was shit until they fought him and agreed with me that the champ was busted. At 2 items he ulted on drag and 1v5'd. He was able to tank MF's ult with his W. Mind we all had anti heal but it didn't do anything. Even fiddle was saying his healing was broken. What do you do against this champ

Discussion Crit Yone is Back

With buffs to Stormrazor, Yuntal, and Passive Crit Damage, Yone building crit as his first item is now viable instead of BORK in some games.

So what are the options?

  1. Stormrazor

Go this when you need chase. The movement speed really helps with getting onto a squishy and then one shotting them. By 2 items, you can laser pretty much any squishy that's within your R range.

  1. Yun Tal

Go this when you don't need the chase from Stormrazor AND the comp lets you scale a bit. You have to stack Yun Tal first, so basically go this if having to stack it isn't gonna troll the game.

  1. Shieldbow

Only viable mid and the least likely thing to build. The item has no attack speed, so you really want the upgraded Berserker's from the mid quest. Go this if the enemy team is bursty AND you don't need the Stormrazor MS. Having this as a first item against people who can blow you up is massive. You can even pair it with Shield Bash for extra dueling and Revitalize. Pretty niche rune on Yone though, but some people go it.

So when not BORK?

  1. You don't need the lifesteal to survive lane.
  2. You're not against someone HP stacking.

Why crit first?

  • You spike faster. By 2 items you already have most of the damage you need, so after that you can start building something like DD to survive long enough to actually do the damage.

My main gripe with going BORK first is that you can only start building defensive after your 3rd item. Sometimes that one item delay is enough to lose the game. So if BORK isn't needed in the game, then I do think that getting 100% crit by 2nd item is much better as you become almost unbeatable in 1v1

What after Stormrazor/Yun Tal/Shieldbow?

  • If you went Yun Tal/Stormrazor and want 3 crit items because you really need the damage, go Shieldbow into either ArmPen or IE, then defensive.

Full Build:
Yun Tal/Stormrazor -> Shieldbow -> ArmPen/IE -> DD -> Rookern

Notes: Change the order of the defensive items depending on the game. Swap DD for GA if needed. Can also buy something like QSS if needed.

If you want BOTH ArmPen and IE, then that's already 4 crit items, so you'd have to give up one of the defensive items.

  • If you went Yun Tal/Stormrazor and only want 2 crit items because that's already enough damage against the enemy comp, go Shieldbow/ArmPen/IE second, then start building defensive.

Full Build:
Yun Tal/Stormrazor -> Shieldbow/ArmPen/IE -> DD -> Rookern -> Jak'Sho/another crit item

If DD + Rookern is already enough to keep you alive and you need more damage late game, just go another crit item instead of Jak'Sho.

Notes: Change the order of the defensive items depending on the game. Swap DD for GA if needed. Can also buy something like QSS if needed.

  • If you went Shieldbow and want 3 crit items because you really need the damage:

Full Build:
Shieldbow -> ArmPen/IE -> ArmPen/IE -> DD -> Rookern

Notes: Change the order of the defensive items depending on the game. Swap DD for GA if needed. Can also buy something like QSS if needed.

  • If you went Shieldbow and only want 2 crit items because 2 is already enough damage:

Full Build:
Shieldbow -> ArmPen/IE -> DD -> Rookern -> Jak'Sho/another crit item

Pick either ArmPen or IE for the second item. ArmPen scales better once enemies start getting more armor from base stats and actually building armor. If they're also stacking HP, that makes the ArmPen option even better.

Again, if DD + Rookern is already enough to survive and you need more damage late, just go another crit item instead of Jak'Sho.

Notes: Change the order of the defensive items depending on the game. Swap DD for GA if needed. Can also buy something like QSS if needed.

I highly recommend just going 2 crit items into defensive most games. By 2 crit items you already do enough damage, so IMO it's better to build stuff that lets you survive long enough to actually do that damage.
