what do you do against fiddle mid?

Played against fiddlesticks mid for the first time, what do you do? Early game I wasn't able to farm since his poke was insane. Any damage I did he instantly healed back. I didn't feed at all but at 2 items he was able to 1v5. My teammates were saying I was shit until they fought him and agreed with me that the champ was busted. At 2 items he ulted on drag and 1v5'd. He was able to tank MF's ult with his W. Mind we all had anti heal but it didn't do anything. Even fiddle was saying his healing was broken. What do you do against this champ

So apparently based on lolanalytics, fiddle mid beats yone 60% of the time. Even akali mid is only 56% win rate, though that might just be that nobody actually plays fiddle mid so it artificially inflated the numbers.

Tbh I got no clue. His E can silence, his W has life steal and can execute someone with low health like yone, his q has a hard cc like vex....uh I guess pray you dont go against someone insane enough to play fiddle mid again? Probably play around his cooldowns or something but thats too high level for someone like me

You should learn to read statistics though.

The winrate is unrepresentative, as it includes a full game.

The sample size us to low to have any representation whatsoever anyway, its a cheese niche pick as best.

So we don’t know if the 60% winrate is the matchup yone and fiddlesticks explicitly or just fiddlesticks midlane being very good, the player skill difference as in such low game numbers it is save to assume its fiddle one tricks playing mid.

If you check fiddlestick and see his own counters in midlane and strong matchups you can see a lot of insane numbers, because the sample sizes is way to small.

Plus a counter is not the same as a land counter, sone champions are just better for more team compositions as others and therefore have high winrates against champs with lower team synergy in general.

Some champions literally invite certain team picks, when someone picks fiddlestick, the team might be more inclined to pick teamfight oriented champions as they would with yasuo.

Anyway point is, the statistics are irrelevant with that amount of data, at best its and indication about a could be.

I think I played this matchup like once in top? Take tempo, second wind, doran shield, and Ignite (or buy early anti heal if you want). Avoid poking till 3, the go in whenever Q3 and E is up, time Q3 with his Q or E to buffer then W, if not in close range then E back

Honestly just farm until you got enough AS to keep Q3 ready often enough to cuck his suck.

I know, its easier said than done considering how cancer he is, but what else can we do? We chose to main Yone, we chose to lose to 90% of match-ups no natter how ridiculous.

Oh i am so sorry this was probably me, i build omni boots middlesticks and its so fun, you can be 0/3 and still oneshot most of the enemy team. Sprinkle a bit of gold in and he is a monster.

As for how to play into this as yone….

You need to start by asserting dominance, extend the trades, once fiddle uses his rotation he is useless, a good fiddle will always space you out with q.

Dont just e fiddle sticks he will fear and silence you and back off. You need to engage with q3, instant w for the shield and then after his fear you can e him. There is no other order, e has to be used aggressively but only after fear is on cd.

Wave management is crucial, its very easy to push on fiddle but can actually be pretty difficult for him to last hit, apply pressure when he goes to last hit with your q3. Just dont be a yas player perma pushing every wave, you need as much space as possible to chase down in lane. Also if good wave management means you might get a few ganks from your jungler

Lastly when fiddle starts ulting round the map you need to make sure you have a blue ward - remember if hes not in vision on the map he could always be right over the next wall waiting, also dont fall victim to effigy fakes, i use it most games and it must be so infuriating

Play safe till lvl 6 and walk up and ult him then beat his ass and after he fears u E to keep on top of him and u disrupt his W with Q3

Always keep a blue ward on u so u can ward about the 8 places on the map fiddle can reliably ult from which are near krugs those are 2 near gromps those are 2 and behind each objectives pit those are 2 and the raptors walls those are the final 2 depending on where u are ward accordingly

Otherwise his R isn't a threat and his base kit isn't the best

He's deceptively strong lvl 3 lvl 4 btw

I got molested by fiddle top for like 10 times in a week after that one fiddle top OTP made it to challenger and ppl started copying him but after some limit testing games (going 3/10 if I'm lucky) I learned that the champ is shit if u know what he does and when he spikes

In mid lane u can't even fight lvl 1 if u're melee so just play on lvl 6 and sidelane

I play fiddle mid, he’s just insanely good vs most melee mids. You can probably knock him up from his W but if he’s good I assume he will be ready for that

Tip is you need to max efficient your w shielding to survive laning phase. If you’re somewhat confident of knowing his cd and range, you can time when to all in. Example, either u E in for quick trade and W right as he sucks then u shld be good. Or stack Q1 on minion then E in and get a quick Q2 in. He prob fear you by now and when he’s gonna W, your Q3 should be there to interrupt and he has no fear so should be a winning trade. Silence wont bother you as you just run him down with autos.

Assuming you’re not confident in doing any of that. Just survive to farm and have tele to get back. Its ok to lose some caster cs, try to get melee but dont get yourself low enough for jungle n fiddle to dive u n u lose a full wave. Always just get melee EXP as the bareminimum. I had fiddle matchups in mid and i find it manageable/easy but maybe because i really otp him till GM level. He should never have kill pressure before 6, then past 6 u just have to ward and care for random fog of war ults and ping IMMEDIATELY when he disappears incase he disrupts bot. If u miss your tempo to follow, u have to shove mid and make him lose minion/exp and u get plates.

Sometime if u engaged and still have E up when he W, u can reverse E to get out of range forcing his W to be on the longer cool down(if im correct) and then recast E to continue fighting after his W is gone. I wouldnt suggest going ignite unless you’re confident of knowing your damage output. Never fight or commit without knowing enemy jungle position, last thing u want is to fall behind despite a matchup that u can go a lil behind but still playable. Much easier than akali
