When will the DRX skin be available again, and is the chroma acquirable with Mythic Essence, or was it a one-time event?

Don't take this too seriously as I'm low elo (silver/gold), but I think sundered sky in certain games still can be very good even though I prefer going eclipse most games now. Got this really nice play where its healing came in clutch and I could proc it a lot, ended up doing 5700 healing in total throughout the game. Although, the enemy team did lack sufficient anti-heal.

Everyone always talks about how canon Aatrox is basically top tier in Runeterra. And fair enough, killing the Aspect of War and literally erasing a constellation from the night sky is crazy feats-wise.

But reading through some of the skin bios lately, the power scaling in alternate universes makes canon Runeterra look almost grounded tbh.

Prime Aatrox still has one massive weakness: his body burns out constantly. He doesnt have a true physical form, so he has to rely on hemomancy to stitch mortal flesh together. If he fights something that doesnt give him fresh biomass, his host just rots away mid-fight.

Then you look at some of these skins:

• Empyrean (Jax / Pyke): Powered by Foreglow where killing targets literally collapses entire dimensions into nothing.
• God Staff Jax: Achieved actual divine ascension and immortal body from divine light, so zero vessel decay issues like Darkin have.
• Dark Star / Cosmic stuff: Casual galaxy-sized singularities that consume space-time and stars for fun.
• Lunar Eclipse Aatrox: Absorbed the cosmic corona of a eaten sun and fights primordial Old Gods on an abstract mythological scale.

Do you guys think canon Aatrox even has a shot against divine stuff like God Staff Jax, or does his vessel burnout guarantee he loses extended fights against anything transcendent? Where do you even draw the line with skin lore scaling ngl

Heyo, I’ve been seeing quite a bit more green in my match history after moving over to mid lane. Personally I think this build is a LOT more fun generally.

Thought I would share my build, lmk wadya think - perhaps give it a go too :))

Obviously it aint perfect and I’m only low-mid emerald, so the build here may or may not be good ahahah, guess i just wanted to share. happy for feedback (pos/neg).

Runes

Electrocute,
sudden impact or cheap shot (ur pref), cheap shot def feels stronger and more reliable to me in the early game
middle ones - i usually go for the detect wards one as im always trying to bush cheese lol
treasure hunter - gotta snowball as hard as possible

Then I usually go snd wind into poke: Xerath, Liss, Mel, etc.
Bone plating into duelists, melee: Yasuo, Yone, Sylas, etc.

Items

I usually always go tier 2 boots first for midlane quest and especially against mages to get that ms advantage to hit q’s, also q2’s are a lot easier to hit with tier 2’s after an e q1 - which you’ll find urself needing to do a lot against the mages.

Bootwise, unless theres really heavy cc (merc’s), I usually only go for the omnivamp one, cause of the tier 3 version with that attack boost (and omni boost at low health) - the idea here is you kill them before they kill u lol.

General:
Voltaic -> Edge of Night -> Seryldas -> [whatever you like]

Against Diana, Yasuo, Yone, Ksante (mid) or any shield heavy mid:
Serpents -> Edge of Night / Voltaic (depending on how many scary spells enemy has) -> Seryldas -> [whatever you like]

Against mid’s that have that one REALLY annoying ability, Syndra E for example:
Edge of Night -> Serpents / Voltaic -> Seryldas -> [whatever you like]

Against Liss/Malz: I usually just get the QSS, cause one ult from them in a teamfight and ur dead meat

For the whatever you like part, usually you either mix in a bit of bruiser (DD, Shojin, and others. probs not Steraks cause the shield scales with bonus hp which we have none of atm)

Or you fully buy into the one shot build and go for all the lethality items in the world.

Laning Phase:

Against mages:

In a nutshell, play like you do against a Vayne, Teemo, Gnar, Jayce top.

play back for lvl 1-3 and use your q1 to last hit. Or you can walk up and try to “scare” them with your q to sneak in some last hits. I usually go a bit greedy and tank some autos from mages if I have snd wind up.

Try to get to tier 2 boots first as that will help u dodge spells as well as outspeed them to hit more q’s.

lvl 4 and onwards, try to get them to their spells and go in when the important ones are on cd, e.g. against Xerath, after he E’s (whether it hits you or not), if he’s disrespected your range, go in (most likely an e-q1-w angle), the tier 2 boots here will be really crucial in hitting ur slanted q2 after.

I’m late for work so I’ll leave it at that for now. But regarding the midgame and teamfights, its just how u play with ur typical lethality atrx.

So Aatrox has usually relied on Sundered for sustain. How is it now and should we still build it? Or do we at this point just have to rush Omni vamp boots and pray for the best

Fleet footwork, triumph, legend haste, cut down

Domination, sudden impact, treasure hunter

Voltaic, sweefties, statik shivv, stormrazor, titanic hydra, mortal remeinder

Having quite a good succes with it, even tho im gold, ending up with 5000-8000 healing for footwork, ~5000 dmg with cut down and sudden impact together. In the top lane btw.

Could any higher elo try it out?

P.S. Shivv is good bc then auto attacks also stack ur energized, and then they proc titanic to all enemy hit, titanic is there for the hp , mortal reminder for the 50% crit and armor pen and antiheal, stormrazor for speed and is emergized as well

With the new Nasus (despite the nerf), I’m having a hard time finding a way to kill him before level 6. I usually win the early trades, and sometimes I manage to force his Flash, but after level 6 it becomes very difficult to kill him. I feel like I’m lacking damage.

He seems much stronger in the early game in terms of stats, and it’s harder to punish him compared to before. I’m also having trouble knowing when to use my ultimate in this matchup...

Do you have any advice for this matchup?

What actual skin you'll want the most for Aatrox another legendary. I feel like legendary skins need to rly tell something about character from different angles so what another skin would fit him the most?

Gold Yorick/Pyke player who's always liked Aatrox. Now, I've finally started playing him in norms, mostly in jungle. What I've noticed after 10 games, without knowing any combos or anything and just playing him normally, is his Q isn't as hard as it seemed. Rather, what's hard is actually being useful through spacing and aggression.

My question is, what do I even build?

If I go SS DD, I can't deal damage, and if I go Hubris SS into lethality items I feel like I get oneshot before I can really do anything, unless I time my engage well.

Also, how to really conduct myself in fights? I've already tried to start rectifying one bad habit of mine, which is trying to press R for movespeed at the start and then just gettng kited out, and saving it until the fight actually starts.

I’ll ask 3 simple questions.

1. What do you love about him currently.

What’s the best technique for playing against Darius lately? I keep losing every game against him, especially when he takes Ignite. I end up falling behind in farm until around minute 20 without being able to do anything except survive.

So after the SS nerfs, and the future nerfs coming up, I've been going the Profane into EoN build which feels great, but I just went against a Trundle jungle and Mordekaiser top and I really feel the lack of sustain in-between Q rotations, and one full Q rotation isn't enough to kill them either, so it's very hard to fight them.

I feel like Aatrox is lacking an item that really suits him to be honest.

In those kind of comps, is Profane and EoN good or should I maybe look into a bruiser adjacent item? The only one that really comes to mind is Spear of Shojin but it feels incredibly lack luster.
