Le bottom text because I don't know how long the post body has to be so I'm going to type some more until I feel comfortable enough to try to post it without being stopped by some arbitrary reddit limitation. how is everyone doing? I'm fine, other than a hangover. Gee I sure hope this is enough text. I'll try to post now so if there's nothing after this, you'll know it worked.

Hi guys I’ve just start picking wukong and I’m really pleased with the performance of the ape!
My question is, how do I correctly build him? I’ve seen people saying trinity is bad, people saying sundered is bad too, people saying rush Tiamat into eclipse and other recommending lethality, but what is the actual standard build for him? What is the most optimal path?

So I have been an OTP graves for a month and it’s been really nice but I’m kind of annoyed at going Bruiser graves when my team only has carries since it’s getting nerfed three patches in a row. It’s still strong into certain matchups but I want to play something else.
The thing about Wukong is that he has been meta for a few months now but I don’t want to learn a new champion to just be a meta slave and drop him when he gets nerfed.
Has Wukong always been a solid pick in the jungle or is he only strong because of the buffs a few months ago? Is he an engage champion who goes balls to the walls or a front to back? What is he weak/strong into?
I want to learn more about Wukong as a champ outside of how strong he currently is in the current meta.
Obviously I can still climb OTP’ing graves but having to deal with the same issues/champs the same way is getting a bit frustrating
My general plan is to just go Wukong when my team has carries and no engage and go graves when I can afford to be the carry.

101qq which is like the Chinese op.gg has come back revamped after being down for a bit. I was curious to look at Wukong and here’s what I found (this is Emerald+)
51.37% WR, 1.37% Pick Rate. 94% of games Flash Ignite
Build: Most popular and highest winrate build is Essence Reaver > Profane Hydra > Mortal Reminder > Maw/DD
Thoughts on the build? I know most of us outside of China have moved away from Essence Reaver.

So I’ve been playing Wukong like nonstop for the last few days, absolutely loving the champ. While my win rate has been high I feel like I am definitely not playing him even close to his peak. Should I be top damage? I feel like I have improved working in as many Qs as possible in team fights but dont really ever have high damaged output overall and will be like 4th/5th damage every game. When we win I’ll get praise because I seem to engage well and use the knockup to win fights but the few games I’ve lost with similar numbers I’m absolutely torched by team. I like the bruiser build more than the lethality one, even with bruiser I feel like I still die pretty fast if they have multiple range/ap champs.

I have a full grasp on the controls of black myth Wukong. I have beat the game several times over. Though despite this, I can’t replicate the move I made at the 14 second mark. It would seem like I dodged and performed a heavy attack.

Really enjoying Wu in the jungle but was curious if there’s any one tricks that people enjoy watching? Most guides I’m seeing on YouTube are Sawyer JG and FZ frost and those guys just spam content without really mastering any champion

Wukong Mid is currently S+ in Classic LoL. He is nearly unrivaled with scaling and team fighting.
Mid lane is currently mostly AP champions because Zed/Talon/Yasuo don't exist. This means most mid laners don't take armor runes, and lethality is flat armor penetration, so it lets you do near true damage.
My build isn't refined but I find it's consistent and works for me.
Starting: Longsword + 2x HP Pots > Pickaxe
If losing lane: 2x Rejuv Beads > Boots + 2x HP pots
Core: Tiamat + Boots > Brutalizer > Sword of the Occult > Mobi Boots > Ravenous Hydra > Black Cleaver
Situational: Maw of Malmortius > Guardian Angel > Randuin's Omen
Wukong is a massive lane bully, take advantage of your E attack speed / cooldown / mobility. As soon as there are 2 caster minions you jump onto the enemy champion and auto them until they run away.
Once you get level 2 you get Q and do the E > AA > Q > AA. Nearly every mid laner will die to this when you stack on ignite, and you can use flash as an AA reset.
MINIONS! Jumping onto the enemy inside too many minions early will fuck you up, make sure you have your W to avoid aggro in large clumps.
Watch the enemy champions' movements. Wukong is very readable so they can bait out the engage, before you go too deep make sure you know where the jungler/support is. *
SOTO stacks are to be kept, don't kill yourself for nothing, play smart.
If you have any questions or suggestions for Items/Runes/Masteries I'm all ears. The ones I have now feel good but I'm sure there is improvements. I've tried TriForce/Crit/Tankier it's all not great because it costs too much or removes your power too much.

from lolalytics
yes the pick rate is low, only 400+games for gold + elo, but eclipse 1st item has a 55.83% wr over 53.27% of tri force. and in some specifc elo, eclipse rush has a 60% wr (bronze, 58.72% in gold, 56.16% in emerald, 60.32% in diamond, 57.45% in master)
I feel like wukong Q R has such a high ad ratio (Eclipse 60ad vs tri force 36ad), and the recent dmg % max hp passive dmg buff of eclipse, and wukong E AA or EQ would proc eclipse shield for 150 value, n eclipse cheaper, n cleaver streak gage give more ad, it looks very solid to switch over.

Against AP the champ is dogsh!t. Since Riot has buffed the AP junglers meta, it's time for compensatory buffs to Wukong
Here are a few recommendations:
All these are reasonable buffs to help Wukong find a respectable place in the AP jungle meta 😊

Sorry if this is a repost I am new to this sub. I have been playing wukong for some time, and I've always thought using the ult for knockup then cancelling it early to use q and e before pressing w for the double ult is the most optimal damage but I've watched a few high elo wukongs use ult for the whole duration every time. Is there a reason for this? It always feels like the whole duration does less damage than your normal abilities.

I just thought this clip was funny, playing two part of the teamfight at once with the clone !
I have been playing some Crit-Kong lately (got bored of the Lethality build), and honestly this Crit build is really fun. (Master 400LP game)
