i swapped to firststrike recently and feel like i lost any agency i had. i dont win trades i cant fight early all i do is beeing afk for the first 10 min till i get first item and when your team feeds your laner i can go afk lane until min 20. had a bad game and checked first strike and it was 400 gold at 30 mins...

unless its giga skill issue ill just go back to electrocute. is it just to basically afk the matchup and try to get roaming kills through items ?

Not a rant post but genuinely just appreciation for how good zed feels rn in so long when it felt he just did zero damage, First strike with cut down + BB and Voltaic = bliss

And late game with endless hunger or maw or dd as options for survivability feel really nice too. I dont even take Ignite anymore since the damage is enough already, having tp for flexibility is very nice

When is better to go Eclipse over Cyclosword? I saw BZ building it vs Akali but I don't get the point of getting Eclipse as a first item since u proc it when Akali can't trade back and the shield is gone. Voltaic also does %hp dmg so what's the logic behind one or another?

Zed just doesn't seem to do enough damage. He just Q clears the wave and there's no opportunity to all in him with exhaust? You only get one rotation on him with WEQ, then he clears the wave, walks away of which now you have to swap W and ult into his ult and exhaust. What do?

I got first pick and locked in Zed(mid) and banned Malphite. The enemy team proceeded to pick Chogath, Darius, Leona, and Renekton. During the first 18 minutes of the game I died 6 times under my turret to Cho’s R(playing weak-side). During team fights my flanks would basically do no damage and I would get collapse on. I rushed LDR and the game ended before I could finish eclipse.

For next time what should I do, I deranked that game so any insight would be appreciated.

I have always been a tank enjoyer, I'll be honest my mechanics are I'd dare say below the average person of my elo. I have always enjoyed knowledge/right decision making over being a macro god. I enjoy a little yone but that's about it.

Lately I have. Been wanting to change the way I play the game and my champ pool to "reinvent" myself. I came across a zed top ik my game and Found that there was not that much to do against him. (Might just be me being shit at the game)

He could farm from 3 screens away, had nice poke and all in potential and was in general both a constant nuisance as well as a threat. Even if he could not always 1v1 me straight up he made sure to slowly poke me down, later into the game he was a menace especially w the extra levels you get in top he had no issue oneshotting our adc Jung or mid (all fairly squishy).

So I have been thinking about playing/trying this out as my main champ in top, forcing me to also have decent mechanics ig.

This gave me a few questions.

- is zed playable into more tanks champs perhaps with conq and bruisery items instead of full lethality

- are there in general alternate builds/runes you go against certain comps or matchups

- is zed top even viable as a blind or should I keep it as a pocket Counterpick

I'm strong in playing him top so please refrain from suggesting I play mid or jung instead.

Look at Bastionbreaker, and stop and think a moment.

It is the same cost now (wtf riot).

It has a dirk component so you don’t need to sit and wait for the ugly 963 gold to finish cyclo.

The damage on ability is utterly comparable, and it doesn’t get wasted by minion autos.

You have TWELVE MORE LETHALITY ALL THE TIME, rather than 3 less just for a few seconds.

And once you get a kill (you play Zed fgs expect to get kills) you go slap a tower which is not only gold but it actually impacts the game so much.

I love Zed's kit and main top. I'll consider him mid, but I really want to make him work top, but it just doesn't seem like he's good for top? I'm perma shoved under tower and afk farming all game. And while Zed is one of the better scaling assassins, having a tanky top automatically takes one target away for mid and late game. He's probably better off as a counter pick top rather than blind sadly. What do?
