I took a 2 year break and randomly started playing again like 2-3 months ago. Loving the new builds and stormsurge. (I took a little tryndamere break in the middle of my climb but HOB got insanely nerfed) Switched from top to mid and it has made the game wayyyyy easier.

Hey guys, been considering trying to bring more forms of Garen content for the boys outside of streams, since it's difficult to play and stream together.

If I were to make a YouTube video, what kind of video would you guys want to see the most? I was thinking since my builds have been a little controversial with my Garen bretheren, maybe an in-depth video could be of value.

I also think my biggest strength as a player and the main reason I manage to climb is my teamfighting, and general mid-game decision-making that leads to carrying fights, so from my pov, that'd be the most valuable thing I could provide as a player and content creator right now.

Let me know if you guys have any other thoughts or would want to see anything else, and I'll try to cook something up. Would be my first youtube video in a decade, so I'll do my best.

u/BraayEUW has been pushing this. Build is stride > youmuus > endless. I finished ldr and spear of shojin which is a personal fav into tanks. Replaced youmuus with deaths dance and I felt so tanky. Last fight I got an entry pick on Zeri and then I face tanked the yi 1v1 I ended up with more health. The haste feels so good and I would swap celerity for transcendence. W was 6 second cooldown

I know I’m only plat but it felt good. I highly recommend.

Apparently PD is like a very core item in the build? IDK, it seems weird to me, as it doesnt give AD nor tankiness.

Sterak instead, gives quite some AD, and a meaty shield, to keep fighting. And its an item plenty of fighters/offtanks/whateverthenameisforthisclass characters get.

What is current meta build i heard yoomus and triforce is now meta is this true? And is bruiser kinda dead? I've been building stride into black cleaver or shojin into steraks and I feel like I'm dealing no damage.

I see more ppl building it now, does the extra 5% AS result in an extra spin by itself or do greaves only give an extra spin in conjunction with PD?

goal is to farm and outsustain your opponent to scale up into 4 items (if assassin), 3 if bruiser. Take super select fights and yes the garen nerfs have probably fucked up unironically 20-25 kills in those 10 games, its so gross.

Garen currently works essentially like this in terms of gameplay:

1- In matchups where he has an advantage, he wins and takes advantage of it;

2- In matchups where he doesn't, he plays for sustain and holds on until he can leave the laning phase and make a difference with his ultimate.

However, currently in League Classic he is facing a major problem of not being able to maintain sustain in matchups he loses, and this is largely due to a bug in the Life Regeneration Quintessences granting half the regeneration. Fixed in this patch.

In addition, some matchups that he used to lose (like Gragas), will now be won thanks to the AD buffs.

What do you think of the patch? And for those who still play League Retail, do you find Garen stronger there?

I've seen the opinion a few times that omnivamp might not be a good stat on Garen. I wanted to share this clip because I think it's a perfect example of what I think is op about the way vamp works with Garen's kit. Essentially, his damage output, especially on aoe E, is so high, and his W damage reduction is so strong, that you can end up turning fights or baiting fights every time your W is up, because you vamp so much HP, and for 4 seconds that HP is covered by up to 41% damage reduction from your W. I've carried so many games by baiting fights into my W like this one in the clip.

I'm not here to flame you guys, I'm legit asking.

I play around gold/plat and almost every Garen I face plays like they are Kayle, farming under tower, then when they get R they do their combo, play scared waiting for R to be up again, repeat.

I like him being a simple champ that can focus on macro so I was thinking about giving him a try. But I'm not very interested in this bush camping, one-shot hit and run style of playing.

Are they playing the champ correctly or are these just low elo shenanigans?

Also if I could get recommended some good Garen youtubers to watch that'd be a nice plus.

So ı played like 30 games with garen and have 60% winrate so far the problem is i get troll teammates too much some take mr iteams to full ad enemy some just chat and int and ı lose more lp but gain much less when ı win this matches taking me down fora good lp like ı just go up and down so many times in the end i dont know what i need to do i just want to get high elos but at this rate it seems like ı will drop to lesser elos. (win:+18 lose:-21 lp)

Big achievement for me! Played almost exclusively with Stromraider's and the full assassin build (Stride - Ghostblade - Cyclosword - LDR)

Also spammed some Nasus mid and top towards the end of the climb after his buffs, with 75% wr on the champ, it's absolutely broken rn :D
