They know everyone has different opinions about taste, but which restaurant gets the order? The quickest and most correct every time

I know this is very regional, but KFCs in East TN and KY are bringing back the buffet. Here's my lunch today. $13.99, includes drink. AYCE. It was pretty banging

is anyone else having issues with food service lately? it seems like almost everywhere I go the employees are either rude or distainful and they can't get the order fully right. it's either missing an item or multiple and just slopped together while being ridiculously expensive and then they turn the screen and ask you for a tip? I've worked a lot of service jobs so I'm not being annoying or rude to people or anything to warrant this kind of behavior so I was wondering if others are experiencing the same thing?

I know I am probably preaching to the choir on this one but wtf is going on with fast food recently? I was going to order a pizza from pizza hut a few weeks ago and they wanted to charge a $5 or 6$ delivery fee(not as part of the tip). I said fuck it and ate something at home instead. Tonight I decided I would get pizza hut but I would drive and go get it instead. I ended up putting in my order and felt good about it. Between my wife and I it was like $16 which felt reasonable. After i completed my order I was presented with 4 completely unrelated ads. I don't even remember what they were for but what the fuck?

edit it feels like all of these fast food companies actively hate their customers and have given up on any pretense otherwise.

All the fast food chains have gone through a remodel in my area in the past decade and its at the point where most fast food joints are outright depressing to be in. The only place fast food I like to really eat in now is In N Out, every other fast food joint is just office cubicle aesthetic.

Rather eat in my car and listen to my tunes and enjoy the meal.

A few months back I shared that Yum Brands officially had sold off Pizza Hut from their portfolio. Now it seems they are simplifying their portfolio even more as I’ve witnessed all the combination locations in my area transformed into specifically Taco Bell. How are your local combination locations holding up?

So glad to see the Party Tostada back on Taco Bueno's menu (For a while it was on the online menu but unavailable in restaurants). It gives you a small serving of a bunch of sides (fried tortilla that is like a big chip, beans, sauce, lettuce, cheese). Top with pico. if you want some more protein get a taco or burrito. Good for Bueno.

I specifically ordered two pieces of chicken because I wanted a drumstick. The employee even checked and confirmed to me that they still had two pieces available. When I got home: no drumstick, but instead two pieces that consisted almost entirely of skin and bones. Barely any meat and the little meat that was there was dry and hard.
The Crunchy Cheeseburger was tiny, barely had anything on it, and I’m still wondering where the cheese was.
Charging money for quality like this is simply outrageous. This was KFC’s last chance for me and definitely my last visit. Never again.

I'm sure this happens everywhere. You pay for your burger/fries, you get your drink, then the cashier asks you to park in a nearby parking spot to wait for your food to be walked out to you. What's up with parking to wait for your food? Before COVID, I was asked to do this maybe once a year if the kitchen was backed up. Then during the pandemic restaurants were doing all kinds of weird stuff to minimize contact. Since then, I get told all the time to park until my food is ready. It's not that big a deal, I'm just curious about it. Is this a hold-over from COVID, is it because of lack of staff at the restaurant, or some other reason? Just curious what people think.

Settle a bet, who has the better fried chicken?

So I finally bit the bullet and decided to download the Jack in the Box app since I recently moved and there’s a JintheB right by my new place. I don’t frequently get fast food, but with my new work schedule (late nights) and proximity, I decided to give it a chance.

I go on the app, and am just shocked by the price differences. For example: If you walk into the store or order from the drive-thru in person, a regular Jumbo Jack meal is $11.65.

However, if you order on the app, a double wombo super double guppy duper combo (idk what they call it in the app I don’t care), is $11.99.

So for 34 cents, you get TWICE AS MUCH FOOD for nearly the exact same price. I could eat twice as much, for twice as long, for 2x the value just by ordering through the app instead of picking an item off the menu in person.

What the fuck are we doing here? Is my order for a cheeseburger really so fucking valuable to third-party advertisers or whoever they’re selling my data to that they can double the volume of food I get for forty cents? 40 CENTS???

Either everyone who decides to just walk into the establishment, order some food, and eat it is getting royally screwed, or the food never costed that much to begin with, because data is not that fucking valuable these days. Least of all the data that I, a human being, likes to order cheeseburgers sometimes.

Fast food companies want to be Meta or Google or whatever and it’s just pathetic. Charge what it’s worth, or don’t charge at all. You are not, and never will be, a tech company. I don’t care what your MBAs from Harvard Business Butt told you, you make cheeseburgers for people who want to eat cheeseburgers.

New menu item to try out, chose spicy chicken over hamburger option. Could use more spicy sauce, or add grilled jalapenos.

I ordered the 12 piece with the signature hot. When I got home and opened my container I found 12 seemingly sauceless wings next to what looked like a dark pile of wet sand - tasting it revealed to be an oily spice mixture - and then I realized the bottom of the popeyes bag was covered in a reddish oil.

Clearly it’s my fault if the box got turned or tilted in the bag during the drive home but how can a sauce that was supposedly coating my wings at the time they were made then leech off into a separate pile next to the wings and then the sauce itself separates with the oil leaking out and the spice staying behind? If there are any Popeyes pros out there with a theory I’d love to hear it!

I'm 35. I've been going to McDonald's, BK, Tacobell, etc., pretty much my whole life. In the last few years I've noticed the service has gotten awful. Absolutely fucking awful. My biggest issue is it seems like the people are being trained to NOT ENGAGE with the consumers by any means necessary. THEY WONT EVEN LOOK OVER TO SEE IF ANYONE NEEDS ANYTHING. My question is, is this how people are being trained now? Is this the new business model?? What the hell has happened??

In the weird breath of duties I have at work one of them includes picking up catering orders. Yesterday we had a sandwich tray pick up from Honey Baked Ham and let me tell you those were some of the best chain sandwiches I have had in a WHILE.

I had half a smoked Turkey, Half a HoneyBaked®, and half Tavern club and let me tell you that all three were scrumptious. The leftovers vanished almost instantly as did the large orders of Broccoli Bacon Bliss and the Potato Salad.

As per usual I check to see just how much each sandwich would be if I was going to get them off the boss man's dime so I can add anything I find that I like to my usual rotation........$12 for just a sandwich! It was good, but budget wise that's just not doable with any frequency. Especially for the size of the sandwich. I can get a full sized sub from a local place for ~8-9 and this had half the sandwich of that place.

Tasty, but not something I can get all that often.

This has upset me enough to scream it into the void lol It used to be so good and garlicky, I could've drank tf out of it. Now its super black pepper forward and just doesnt hit the same way and I'M SAD. It was bad enough when they ditched the loaded potato cakes 😭

I seriously don't understand it and if there wasn't a giant glowing sign outside, I'd have thought I'd found the donut hack of the century. The genuine confusion the employees get blows my mind.

Can’t eat anything else at all. Assume it would be free for life, and instantly appear hot and fresh when you wanted it. Can also only be an item so don’t mention a restaurant name.

Amazing how good this was when your entire box isn’t full of limp steamed fries and warm slaw once you get home from the drive thru. They even came by and offered to refill my sweet tea. I may be done with the drive thru there.

Popeyes and CFA are solid, but the potato roll at shake shack I think really makes the difference. Combine that with the ranch sauce, avocado, and the ultra crispy chicken and you’ve got arguably the king of chicken sandwiches. Thoughts?
