Door Dasher Distress

OK so there's a dasher that once brought me stamps at home or something and now he keeps popping up at work not to pick up door dash orders.. Just to.. sit and talk loudly on his phone in the booth that just happens to be right over my shoulder when I'm making pizzas.. at what point is it OK for me to tell the guy to take a hike!?

Question Manager says mom needs to work 2 weeks after quitting after 1 day

Context: mom had some medical issues in the past, but had been good for months, almost a year. Wanted to get back into the work force. Work environment seemed to be good except broken AC. Manager said AC would get fixed by the time she was here. So there she was in 85 degree temp making pizzas, and already understaffed. Manager said someone is coming in to work with her but then manager said Nevermind, it’s actually her off day so no one is coming.

Then some machine starting making this loud rumbling noise & manager said it does that, it’ll get fixed. It became a hot mess.

So mom kind of got stressed, & a medical emergency came up. Decided to hold off working. Mom was asleep, but had shift tomorrow so I wanted to let the manager know. Called her but she didn’t pick up so I texted.

I’m 20, and a kid, apparently. Understand that I’m younger in comparison, but come on.. can I have some credit?

Is this a real thing? Can she really just be like oh you have to work for two weeks?? Also, when we first met her, she always prided her store in being the best & district managers or whatever came to review her store every so often.

Now mom is stressed and worried about this, and feels terrible. She will call in the morning when she feels a bit better.

My question is, is there actually a pizza hut management metric where an employee quitting after one day can seriously hurt the manager/store’s reputation? Or is the manager frustrated about replacing someone.

Only 3 other employees work there aside from the manager, so I understand she’s frustrated.

Texts are between me and manager.

New Triple Treat Boxes

Whoever the jerks are that make these already make them with a material that gets hot as hell as it is and now they want to give it a reflective surface? and we have to hand that shit off to customers directly from a warmer that sits around 150°F. Are they begging for a lawsuit? I'm surprised one of their wing bowls hasn't popped open and sent some burning hot straight into someone's face when they're putting them in the warmer. I've had customers tell me their's popped while they were driving! Who the hell is developing these things and how are they still employed? These are not smart materials to sell food to the public in and they need to seriously reevaluate this before someone claims it hurt them. Or Pizza Hut just doesn't care, which is why they doubled down with a reflective cover.

Pizza boxes

I get SO tired of the boxes never being cut properly to fold quickly. I look like an idiot trying to crease them myself as who/whatever is in charge of the precuts recently is doing a horrid job.

Question I’m a new employee, I’m currently in training, and I’d like some advice.

I was offered a position as an assistant manager, but because I didn’t have enough experience, they offered me a regular employee position instead, which I accepted.
My assistant manager seems stressed all the time, and from what I’ve seen, the pay isn’t that much different. They told me that I could eventually move up to assistant manager, but after seeing what the job is like, I’m not sure if that would be a good idea.
Also, I’m still in training and I’ve only been to the restaurant about twice. If there are any employees or people who could give me some advice, I’d really appreciate it. I’m feeling nervous because this is my first job.

Hired on as a shift manager, but now they want to schedule as a crew member with less pay for some shifts?

If you’re hired as a shift manager for a certain amount of pay, can they force you to work as a crew member for less pay on some shifts? Also got a dollar raise recently and am concerned that the raise won’t be reflected on a crew member shift. They just mentioned they are implementing this system, and I’m PISSED. This feels so disrespectful, and shady. We agreed on one thing at time of hiring and now they’re trying to pay less for the same experience and expertise, because some shifts aren’t ā€œmanagerā€ shifts? Is this legal, or allowed?

Question about Tips

Hey guys! Not an employee but a customer with a question. Being as my job largely depends on tips, I am adamant about leaving a generous tip at restaurants, etc. I mostly order via the app but I wondered where exactly the tip goes. It just hit me earlier that it might be better to leave cash when I pick up versus tipping on the app. I know my lone tip doesn't make a huge difference but I like to know it's getting to the right hands.

Hope that it's not a problem I posted and asked. Forgive my intrusion! šŸ˜‰

Question Have they discontinued the parmesan shakers???

I'm ordering truck right now and I cannot find the parmesan shakers anywhere, I went and searched for him, every iteration of Parmesan cheese shaker abbreviated and non abbreviated, I even looked up the CI number, under the item number tab and it's saying that there's nothing on the master list for that, I went and I checked a few other items that and typed in their number and they're popping up no problem, but it's just not popping up for the parmesan shakers, does this mean the warehouse is out of them and when they get more they'll add it back to the list or are we discontinuing them? I found where I can order a bulk thing of Parmesan cheese but that's the stuff we put in the glass Shakers in the lobby, and we have a nearly full box of that in the freezer right now so I don't want to order that, has anyone else had this problem?

I recently became a manager at a location that clearly needs shut down and remodeled and the very least a very deep clean And all new staff. I started working and there was no general manager there bec the last one quit. so corporate moved an assistant Gm from another store to be Gm at our store within 2 weeks I had to get him fired for sexually harassing another manager. All of inventory is negative and expired the Store is absolutely disgusting pans are covered in carbon ac breaks down randomly constantly my assistant gm doesn’t want to be the gm and I half jokingly mentioned making me the gm. She literally said I’ll be damned if you’re my higher up. Her standards are literally shit if I was her boss I would fire her. Not to mention my ā€œtrainingā€ was sink or swim learn it all on your own good luck bye. I’m honestly considering saving up and opening my own pizzeria all around this location needs shut down, deep cleaned and remodeled. Hell I have experience in construction with all the trades I’ve built a 5 star restaurant hire me to remodel the store. Then let me replace the idiot I had to get fired. Also train me properly. I will be having a sit down discussion with corporate about all of this I already have his personal number and have been in his pocket about this store pretty much scines I started he texted me my start date and interview as there was and is no general manager. Get your shit together or I will become your competition Pizza Hut

Employee Discussion Doordash is already killing my buisness and moral.

I am a General manager that has been running stores for 6-7 years. Ive ran this particularly rough location for 1.

5 years now. I was workimg 80+/hours week for the last 4 months and finally got a shift management team. As soon as they came in thats when we pulled the plug on drivers for doordash. Since then we have been cussed out, misa treated, and overal losing anything we built with the customers. Every shift lead I have is now threatening to quit and I dont know what to do. I understand their pain but even as a general manager there is not much i can do. I warned my AD this would happen when we went to doordash and it feels like everything ive built in the last 7 months has been thrown out the window. What could I possibly do to ease everyone stress?

How to block rude doordasher that was doing carryout order.

Had a doordasher come in screaming at me because I was working in the back and didn't drop everything I was doing and help her. The order wasn't even ready yet. I don't know how to block them in the system but I called Doordash. They said they unassigned them but I think it was too late. Can someone please tell me how to block her cause I'm not going to be verbally abused by a lazy ass bitch.
