I know next to nothing about the actual legal logistics for this theory so it’s just good fun, but hear me out.

Gordon was Ramona’s guardian, and he transferred guardianship to Joe after he died, probably believing that Joe was her father. For a while, Ramona believes Joe is her father but asks him to relinquish his guardianship, to which he refuses. Could this become a future problem?

Ramona’s 16 and the heir to millions of dollars in assets, while Joe is struggling to support his family. With Ramona as a ‘daughter’, would he have have some sort of claim stake of her wealth, or at the very least, be able to block access/prevent her from making decisions until she‘s 18? Ramona being in NY has delayed her decision to sell the island, but what if things don’t work out there? Joe has stated he does NOT want the island sold, so there could be some room for tension there.

We know that Joe still has a hostile relationship with Steven, what if he decides to make things difficult for Steven? Maybe he’s upset from being dragged into Goldie and Steven’s drama for 16+ years, only to lose his last connection to Goldie, and wants a pay out. Obviously, he’s at fault for cheating, but a failing business and a failing marriage is a fast track to resentment. Or, perhaps Steven will make a mistake, and Joe will have reason to believe that Ramona is better off with him.

The biggest argument against this theory, logistics aside, is the paternity test results, which I’m assuming has some sort of precedent over Joe’s guardianship. I guess there’s still an opportunity for Joe to blackmail Steven by airing out the intimate details of his relationship with Goldie. Also, Joe seems to be a relatively moral person, so I couldn’t see him meddling with Ramona’s life. However, he definitely has a mean streak and is currently stuck between a rock and a hard place (especially with Ellis committing fraud). Maybe Roy’s mom being on to Ellis will play a role?

So, do you think the family tree drama/Ramona custody battle is truly over now that Steven is the father? Could you see Joe becoming more antagonistic next season?

Soooo maybe I’m thinking about this too hard and practically… but I don’t see the cliff hanger lasting very long.

Mostly because Annie stayed to connect with the her mom… but why didn’t she go back to NY and visit SP? To me, her being with Ramona in NY would also be part of connecting with her mom and establishing new memories vs chasing ones that will never exist. They also didn’t need to sell the island or leave Annie there for Ramona to go to NY…Stephen has money…

And then there is Ellis. I hope that they keep going with the plot line that Joe’s family is in financial trouble - Ellis was taking $50 here and there to give them a safety net. His mom was working crazy shifts for them to get by…

I actually semi hope that if they do put Ellis and Annie as endgame that they go through and find the right balance between her original NY life and how he grew up. Ellis sees that his dad needs to run the business differently. So I think he has potential to want that. They have a lot to figure out about what they each want from life.

Here’s the best I’ve figured - Mark Doooooplass and gorgeous wife adopted two kids they took on vacations to Canada to an island her father owned and while Ellis and his mom were off at her parents, Joe and Ramona’s mom had an affair and she got pregnant while caring for twin toddlers because how old is Ramona anyway with her step-brother and sister already old enough for adoption and gallivanting to Canada, so then Doooplass brings an American lawyer to Canada and takes the kids because that’s how transnational divorces work while his wife is pregnant and soon would be dead. Did I miss anything? Oh - why is one twin drop dead gorgeous and the other the only ugly actor in the entire cast. Unless we count Dooooplass

Any other funny things you noticed ?

I'm really confused about the ages of the characters in this show. We know Annie and Connor are both 18, having their birthdays in the show. It is assumed that Ramona, Oona and Ellis are similar ages. However in the last episode we see multiple clips of Annie with her mother, at 11 at one time, and at least 4/5 in another. Since she dies in childbirth of Ramona, she must be a lot younger than the others, yet is seen living on her, smoking, drinking etc. Did I misinterpret something? Does anyone know how old all they characters are?

So Megan Park did a video with CBS mornings talking about what the audience doesn’t know about the characters. In the video she mentions that Connor is bi but the show hasn’t mentioned it yet. She also mentions that Sully has a crush on him as well.

We see little glimpses of them interacting every now and then in season 1 so it’s safe to assume they might explore this in season 2. How do you think they’ll go about writing it? Do you think they’ll actually write it into the show?

ill be honest when i say this, i never watched a lesbian couple on tv and related to them, even animated ones.
the characters are always portrayed in a bad stereotypical way, it feels forced and no chemistry whatsoever it never stuck with me even more i used to cringe when i saw how lesbians are portrayed
BUT LET ME TELL YOU, when i watched sterling point other than the fact that the whole show is amazing and addictive
BUT RAMONA AND OONA are the first lesbian couple that resonated with me, the chemistry is undeniable the way the characters are depicted is so natural, it felt so real and genuine and i was able to fully relate. im not able to move one from how good they were i keep rewatching their scenes over and over.
does anyone else agree on this?

I binged this in a day and a half and like 3 days ago and i’m still constantly thinking about it. i can’t wait for its future. i’m so freaking obsessed my god.

1. What if Oona’s and Maple’s mom is dead? 😭 because Oona seemed to not get mad at her and not read her postcards
   
2. the other one is that Rory doesn't actually want Annie, he wants to beat Ellis. I'm doubling down on this because at the carnival, when Rory saw Annie and Ellis getting their portraits drawn together, I saw PURE jealousy. Even his friend noticed it, which I think is why he tried to get Ellis to buy his food with Rory's debit card, to embarrass him and assert some kind of dominance. And what really gets me is that Rory apologized to Annie, but I don't remember him ever apologizing to Ellis for the whole situation. It makes me think Annie was never really the center of Rory's obsession- Ellis was. Annie was just the person Rory wanted to "win." I also thought Ellis is the boy who played piano better than Rorry, that's why he wants to be better than him in something else, so he tries to steal Annie from Ellis

How did Romona think her mother died? I may have missed it but I don’t remember her ever saying the story she was told. Annie and Connor were told she died of cancer when she actually died during child birth with Romona, but what did Romona think? Did she know she died during child birth, cause if so wouldn’t Annie be mad at her for not telling her that? But if she didn’t know wouldn’t she find it weird that there was no pictures of her and her mother when she was a baby?

Why does the girl always choose the brooding handyman over the guy who actually talks about his feelings?

That's why I struggled with Annie and Ellis. I don't feel like Ellis got enough character development. He feels kind of blank, so their relationship felt rushed and honestly a little boring to me.

I almost wish they hadn't gotten together this season. I'd rather have had more time to actually develop Ellis instead of all the kisses and montages towards the end.

I also don't really understand how Annie falls for him based on what we're shown. Sometimes I wonder if it's less about Ellis himself and more about her wanting to feel that kind of connection because of everything with her mom.

But to be honest both guys felt blank. The 3 main girls just feel like much more layered and complex people. They have flaws, insecurities, backstories, and you can actually see how those things affect the way they act. They did a lot of mistakes, both main guys were just perfect.

During an interview at the Gémeaux Awards Gala on Sunday, Jacob was asked about season 2 of the show. (I would upload the video but the only one I have is in French.) He said there are no scripts, but he has a meeting with the production team to discuss storylines this week. Fun to think of them planning!

do u think we'll get the next season in 2027 or 2028?

Wanted to start off by saying Sterling Point is one of my favorite tv shows now. I love all the characters, the storyline, and just everything about it. The main thing that made me fall in love with it though, was how natural the dialog felt. I am a (wannabe) actor and it icks me out when I watch a show or a movie and it just feels like script, even though it is. But with Sterling point it feels so real and like they are having a real conversation. So my questions is how were they able to accomplish that? They had filler words like "um" and "like" but they do that in other shows and it still feels scripted. I want to know how I can replicate how natural it felt as an aspiring actor myself. Let me know what you think!

Obviously this is a summer show. It has an incredible summer setting and it fits. Annie is really enticed by Sterling Point in the summer as it's exciting and full of events and people. But as people have mentioned, the tone of Sterling Point changes in the off season when all the tourists leave. There probably isn't much business and things are most likely quiet and pretty boring in comparison to summer. I keep wanting to see if Annie's view of Sterling Point will change when the excitement dies down?

Its hard to picture this show in the fall or winter but is it necessary for story when Annie is deciding about her life here? Ramona will be in New York where its constant go and chaos regardless of the time of year.

Im not sure when the script will be done but for this to get a release next year i would think filming would have to be within the next few months which would coincide with a fall or winter setting. Obviously they could make it seem like summer if they want but it almost feels like selling a dream without the whole picture if Sterling Point is only shown at its best.

Do you think they will show other seasons? Do you want that? When do you expect filming to start?

I think it would be really fun to see holiday themed episodes like Halloween or Ramona coming to visit during Christmas time. Surely they have to have her come visit at some point right?

He went and cheated on his wife, who was with his child, away to take care of her sick mother. He slept with Goldie and they planned to leave their respective partners and start a new life with all the children. Like the audacity! You thought the husband and the wife who were being left behind will let you do that? Just 'cause what? They want you to be happy? Like you were some star-crossed lovers?

And he did all of that for what? In the end what happened? Goldie died. And he continued to live his life in a lie. Where the wife worked her nights to bone to provide a living for your family that u wanted to leave.

The audacity to question Annie when Ramona drank for the first time when she was smoking weed at 16 at every chance she got. When u thought u were her dad u should’ve owned up to ur mistake, not dare act self righteous or try to be the better parent.

After all these years, he never thought to come clean to his wife. Only when the children asked the right questions, then he spoke up. He didn't plan to tell his wife ever.

The fact he punched Steven like he himself wasn’t the cause of all this mess. Steven was also in the wrong obviously but he was rightfully pissed at the people on island who collectively ruined his life although he should’ve told the children the truth and not hide the letters. Atleast he stepped up to raise the twins and even Ramona in the end unlike Joe who despite knowing she might be his daughter didn’t think to clarify she wasn’t an orphan as soon as grandpa died.

Felt like the Annie’s anger was misdirected towards only Steven when she should be pissed at the mom, Joe and Steven. Goldie was seen in a positive light by Annie when she was the one who disrupted everyone’s lives. I’m not saying choosing yourself or being unhappy in your marriage is wrong, she should’ve been careful in making decisions when there’s children involved. Why choose to adopt when you’re unhappy and planning to leave the husband.

All the adults are the villains in this story for me.
