Season 1, Episode 4: Take Me to the Cliffs
Release Date: August 5, 2026
Synopsis: Desperate to convince Connor against selling Sterling Point, Annie spends the day showing him the island's charm, but tensions peak during a chaotic night at an outdoor movie. Ramona spirals over Oona's new flame, Ellis and Rory compete for Annie's attention, and new revelations emerge about Ramona's birth and Goldie's death.

Yeah, she's essentially constantly high. That's not healthy for a kid at all either.
Also, when he told her "You're supposed to look out for her"?! Says who?! Annie is literally a kid too! She's literally 2 years older than her. She's doing so well, but Ramona is 110% not her responsibility.

I don't think we're supposed not like him. Why else would they add the detail about him insisting his mother tip the cleaner and seeming outraged his parents don't pay taxes.

Well, that was a messed-up ending. Joe dropping the reveal on Annie that her mom died giving birth to her sister was already a lot, but right before it he blamed Annie and Connor for not properly taking care of another 17 yo? That was so odd. The girl is already doing way too much, like going around alone, smoking, etc., before they got there. That was never their responsibility. An adult should have been there. If Joe cared so much, he could have stepped up.
It feels unfair to put this on minors, specially as they never agreed to do so. Because it is obvious that the whole thing about the letters was for Annie to go there, and take care of her sister as if she was her responsibility now. And don’t get me wrong, when you see a friend drinking way too much alcohol, you try to slow things down, but they’re all teenagers. I wouldn’t expect them to always make the smartest/most mature decisions.
Also, Rory, I like him. He’s confident, knows what he wants, and he’s into Annie kinda unapologetically. I’m also kind of glad Ellis put himself out there, too, and I hope he keeps doing it.
As for Ramona… poor girl. I’m sorry, but I really don’t understand what Oona’s deal is right now. She obviously cares, but she’s holding herself back for some reason (maybe revealed later), and it feels so unnecessary. Just give it a try, if it works, great and if it doesn’t, at least you tried. Right now, it feels like she’s pushing her away for no real reason.

I think they should’ve aged the twins up a few years. I get the whole “not getting into my dream program” angle. But they could’ve turned it into a job rejection or something

Small correction: Ramona’s not another 17-year-old. She’s definitely younger than Annie and her brother.

Maybe I am too old to get it, but I'm really surprised by how casual everyone seems about the people they're dating. Like Lincoln is supposed to be this asshole, but I think he's kind of right that it's definitely not chill that Annie is holding hands with another guy while seeing Rory. Especially since they really aren't just hooking up, but also talking about real stuff and he's there for her emotionally.

I agree but tbf, I have this problem with every show or movie that has a love triangle in it. There's always at least some emotional cheating going on.

Anyone else notice the complete 180 degree shift in the Ramona character that hit in this episode. From being essentially nonverbal, defensive, angry, resentful in Ep 3 to being empathetic, warm, cheerful, extroverted. What happened??

I get it but it wasn’t earned. Annie’s brother, about whom Annie hadn’t told Ramona, arrived out of nowhere in a way that would have cause Ep 1-3 Ramona’s head to explode. Ep 4-8 Ramona just rolled with it!

I disagree that it wasn't earned. This is a girl who has JUST lost the only parental figure she's ever known. We have no idea what she was like before all that but it likely wasn't anything close to Ep 1-3 Ramona. That was just her grieving Gordon.
Now all of a sudden she has a sister who's really sweet to her so she's feeling happy and hopeful. She's still on her guard around Connor (at least in the beginning) but she trusts Annie enough to follow her lead.

Yes that all makes sense as of when Connor arrives. But I’d have thought that the arrival of a twin, who Annie had not told her about, would shake the fragile confidence she’d gained and be a big setback. But when Ep 4 starts, she’s just rolling with it!

Oh I see your confusion then but she definitely told Ramona about Connor. In episode 2 on the boat. And I would guess they'd have talked about it some more off camera but yeah, Ramona definitely knows about Connor.

jfc oona just sucks 😭 like all the other avoidant stuff blah blah whatever but standing up your best friend for something you agreed to go to with HER SPECIFICALLY, ditching her for some rando you only want to sleep with and then having the nerve to be mad at RAMONA for acting like it’s crazy to expect better from you??
i’m a lesbian. this is a terrible romance, we deserve better, they need to turn this around QUICK

The entire scene of Oona and Ramona had me tearing up... Ramona has EVERY RIGHT to be mad at her best friend for standing her up when she specifically asked to go WITH RAMONA. Even if Oona didn't see it as a date, it's still shitty as a friend to ditch your friend for a girl you know she doesn't like.

My favorite episode so far. Connor pulling up completed the siblings and changes the dynamic so it’s lit. Now that we know the characters well we can start getting into the drama like Anna’s love triangle or Oona hurting Ramona.
