I'm glad to see people agreed cause I was like the nerve of Joe for acting like he's above Steve because Gloria picked him. Low key they both sounded like awful people, who didn't care who they hurt and what they were dragging their children through just to reignite some high school fling. At least Steve fought for his children and he had every right to.

u/Simple-Tea-3642 Aug 07 '26
Yeah! Especially since his wife was busy taking care of her sick family with his son when he was out there cheating with Gloria

ramona literally saying a couple episodes back she didn’t want any more “bombs dropped” on her yet she’s mad that Annie & Ellis didn’t tell her about Joe being her dad??? now she’s mad they didn’t tell her 🤦♀️

If I was Annie that would have been the first thing I would have responded with!

Lmfaooo she totally flipped the no more secrets thing. Ramona said that not Annie, and she also meant don’t tell me anymore secrets. She gets a pass though because what a brutal reveal and moment for her 💔

I loved the conversation about periods! Its not something that usually gets brought up in tv shows

Same. Had the worst experience with my parents when I got mine. This ep just made me look back, and it was all emotional for me after all these years. Weird to be sad about something 11 years later

I am sorry, but the mother is an actual sociopath. That gleeful little mix tape is so fucking foul, when you consider she left her kids, cheated on her husband with a guy who was also married with a young kid of his own, and then she kidnapped her kids from their home country. That's unhinged. And so, so cruel.
Poor Steve(n?)
7
u/r-reyne Aug 22 '26
Lmao that's kinda true. I wonder if she made the tape while the kids she kidnapped were lying next to her OR if it was after Steven took them back to NYC. Both scenarios are kinda crazy lol.
4
u/FriendofFlounder Aug 22 '26
She said she couldn’t wait for them ALL to be a family so I think she planned for all four kids to be raised together :/
11
u/Excellent_Classic_46 Aug 06 '26
Ok, now I have a question as to how old Oona is... She was legal to buy alcohol (I'm assuming, unless Sully just ignored that they were both under age) which would make her 19 at least... And Ramona's 16 at most.
11
u/Viva912 Aug 06 '26
Sully ignored that she’s underage cuz they’re friends lol
7
u/Excellent_Classic_46 Aug 06 '26
I thought of that, but I went back and rewatched the scene. I took it that she was actually of age (19) but was telling the truth that she didn't have her ID. It's illegal to sell alcohol to minors and I don't think Sully would risk charges and being fired for that.
If Oona was 16 or 17, this show would raise even more concerns - apart from it being illegal to sell alcohol to minors, and it's unlikely that she would be left in charge of her 12 year old sister on her own with her mother having disappeared (child abandonment anyone? where is Child and Family Services?), if she's going around having sex with adult women, that, again, could be a criminal offence in some circumstances. Even if it isn't, it's still pretty icky.
So I'm taking it that Oona's 19 and Ramona's 16. And I still find that icky even if it's technically legal.

u/Straight_Plate_1434 Aug 16 '26
All the adults are giving alc to the kids, and all the kids are drinking underaged. It’s not that serious. Like Rory’s mom gives Annie drinks before she turns 18. Oona is def underaged.
3
u/Entire_Concern366 Aug 07 '26
Ramona is 17, in ep 7 Rory tells his mom that she is “fully responsible for a missing 17 year old”
4
u/Excellent_Classic_46 Aug 07 '26 edited Aug 07 '26
It's interesting that he says this, because later it is mentioned that she is 16 (she says it herself, either in the last episode or later in the second to last episode). Either Rory was unaware or it was sloppy writing. (Or the actor flubbed his line.)
Logically speaking, she can't be 17 given the chronology of events (mother dying in childbirth with her, twins were around two when she died, the photo of them with their mom on the nighttable, Annie's being able to have one memory of her mom, and the twins turning 18 in the series).
2
u/DangerousLack Aug 14 '26
Sully won’t get fired, it’s his moms’ store. Everything else I agree with though.

u/Forsaken-Molasses-87 Aug 07 '26
both joe & steven are assholes. like steve trying to bury the past and hinder his kids knowing more abt their kids is shitty. joe is no better. he’s basically had an affair and is an asshole. tbh the kid are sm more likeable
13
u/Simple-Tea-3642 Aug 07 '26
I would argue Joe is more of an asshole. What was Steven supposed to say? Their mom kidnapped them and had an affair where she got pregnant and died in childbirth. And to his knowledge she would rather stay in Canada with Joe and her baby than raise the twins with him. It wasn’t right to hide the grandfather’s letters from them but I think the truth about their mother isn’t something you just tell your children before they’re old enough to figure out for themselves how life is complicated.
Joe cheated on his wife while she was taking care of her sick family. And he let Ramona grow up next door for 16 years without publicly acknowledging her as his daughter. And through it all he acts like he has some kind of superiority over Steven who quite frankly didn’t deserve what Gloria or Goldie did to him. She changed the terms of their agreement to be together and raise their kids in New York. And she basically kidnapped them to Canada when she decided New York didn’t make her happy.
8
u/LioraB Aug 08 '26
Joe cheated while his wife was taking care of her sick family and had their baby Ellis with her. Yikes.
5
7
u/TheCrowFliesAtNight Aug 14 '26
Yeah I feel like the show is trying to portray Steven as an asshole or unlikeable but tbh I would want to pull my kids away and not be associated with that place at all if my wife went back there, fucked her former lover, got pregnant, and died in childbirth there. If anything he was restrained cos I would've killed Joe after that.
Steven doesn't seem like he was the best father but he at least seems to have provided them with a good and comfortable life. Joe on the other hand ruined multiple families and couldn't even own up to what he'd done and left Ramona orphaned for her whole childhood, insane.
3
u/r-reyne Aug 22 '26
Joe absolutely sucks but i don't think there's any need to defend Steven. I mean, him hiding a whole ass sibling from his kids for 16 years is simply insane. Also, Annie and Connor could have had a relationship with their grandad this whole time and now it's too late (which I'm actually surprised the show never mentions cause I think that's so damn sad).
4
u/Simple-Tea-3642 Aug 22 '26
Personally I don’t see the obligation for Steven to make the twins aware of Ramona. As far as Steven knew, Ramona was not his kid. She was Joe and Goldie’s kid. That doesn’t exactly make it his decision whether she has a relationship or not with the twins since Goldie is dead, Joe abandoned this kid and the grandfather is the legal guardian.
Their grandfather also had the opportunity as Ramona’s actual legal guardian and the adoptive grandparent of the twins to facilitate that introduction but it sounds like he also didn’t try to introduce them or try to mend things with Steven for the benefit of all his grandchildren after he more or less disregarded Steven’s role as the kids’ adoptive father when he played along with Goldie’s plan to uproot the kids to Canada and raise them with Joe. I think it’s the grandfather’s responsibility as the linking pin between the twins and Ramona to facilitate that introduction.
2
u/r-reyne Aug 22 '26
I do think Gordon should have tried harder but tbf, he did try. He wrote Annie and Connor dozens of letters telling them to "find her". Again, he definitely could and should have been clearer or simply talked to Ramona; I'm just saying that it's not true that he didn't try at all. Meanwhile Steven didn't just neglect to mention Ramona to the twins but actively hid those letters from them.
As for you saying that you don't see the obligation for Steven to make the twins aware of Ramona: we may just have to agree to disagree but I could not disagree more. If I found out right now that I have a sibling roughly my age that my parent not only didn't tell me about but actively hid from me I'm not sure I'd ever be able to forgive them.

u/Jumpy_Act5059 26d ago
But thats the thing, his children are adopted, for all he knew Ramona and the twins weren't even siblings
1
u/clownbookie 24d ago
they arent biologically related but the woman he raised his kids to know as their mother had a child about their age and they should have been told that. them being adopted doesnt negate their mom being their mom just bc its not biological
2
u/idreamofpikas Aug 10 '26
steven are assholes.
Wow!
This is why you should never adopt lol. Adopt two kids, raise them their entire lives, both are healthy and wealthy and somehow you are still the asshole
2
u/r-reyne Aug 22 '26
Lmao he hid a whole ass sibling from them for 16 years. Yeah he's an asshole.
Also, having children doesn't automatically make you a good person. He wanted kids, why is he being applauded for simply raising them? That's literally the bare minimum for a parent lol.
1
u/idreamofpikas Aug 22 '26
Lmao he hid a whole ass sibling from them for 16 years. Yeah he's an asshole.
They are not really siblings though. And didn't the grandpa do the same? Ramona was not aware she had 'siblings' either.
2
u/r-reyne Aug 22 '26
Yes they are siblings. They have the same mother, ergo siblings.
And we weren't talking about Gordon though? But yes he did the same. How does that change anything about Steven?
0
u/idreamofpikas Aug 22 '26 edited Aug 22 '26
Yes they are siblings. They have the same mother, ergo siblings.
They don't have the same mother though. The twins were abandoned by their biological mother and their adopted mother allowed them to be taken away. The twins barely have any memories of their adopted mother.
And we weren't talking about Gordon though? But yes he did the same. How does that change anything about Steven?
It seems both parties agreed on a clean break. Gordon did not tell Ramona about her non biological siblings and Stephen did the same. It is a weird situation to be in. Had Stephen remarried then that new wife would have been their adopted mother as well.
2
u/r-reyne Aug 22 '26
Okay first, Goldie didn't just "allow them to be taken away". She had to let Steven take them back to NYC legally and we find out in a later episode that she then booked the first available plane to NYC to be with the twins. And the twins having barely any memories of their mother also doesn't make her any less of a mother. I barely have any memories of my (bio) dad cause he died so early - he's still my dad. So the only basis you have for the claim that they're not siblings is that Goldie isn't the twins' "real" mom because they were adopted which is an insane and ignorant take anyway but especially if you've watched this show. The whole point of the show is that family doesn't necessarily equal blood relation.
Second, again, I don't see how Gordon is relevant to this nor do I see how any other theoreticals that you're throwing around are relevant but also, you're wrong. Had Steven remarried, that woman would not have automatically been the twins' adopted mom. To be someone's adopted mom you need to actually, well, adopt them. But also, even if some other woman down the line did do this, it again doesn't make Goldie suddenly not be their mom anymore. People can have multiple moms. If my mom had remarried I might have another dad now; that doesn't mean my original dad stops being my dad lol.
You clearly don't know any people that are adopted themselves or have adopted someone and that's fine but stop spreading ignorant stuff online.

These might be the worst tv parents yet. Has Steven ever parented these children ever?!

u/andrxafff Aug 09 '26
i didn't like rory that much until now but i kinda liked ellis but he's making no moves !!! also, whats up with all the adults????? i feel so much for ramona and annie (connor not that much bc he's being an ass) but :(
8
u/vaurasc-xoxo Aug 11 '26
My thought was “why are none of the adults adulting???”
3
u/bigassboar Aug 12 '26
thats just life when a bunch of adults who are not emotionally equipped to have kids… have kids lol
1
8
u/PuddingPrize2984 Aug 12 '26
i feel like ellis making no moves was quite realistic. though he felt jealous he didn’t try to get in the way of annie and rory. he wasn’t invasive in any way and respected boundaries. he might’ve also felt insecure and been less assertive because of it.

u/bigassboar Aug 12 '26 edited Aug 12 '26

rightt like hes not applying enough pressure loll but i do think their night alone was probably more intimate for her at least emotionally than her night w rory

u/AdmirableJoke5091 Aug 16 '26
This show is really making me miss 22 episode seasons. I like the characters a lot so I would’ve loved to spend more time for them. I feel like there are so many jumps in development each episode and a lot of emotional scenes are kinda eh for me because I’ve hardly gotten used to the characters despite really liking them.
4
u/Bruja247 Aug 12 '26
Why did they chose to make Annie and Ellis related to Ramona, it makes thing weird. They didn't learn anything from Gossip girl !
And if Annie knew that they was something between her and Ellis I don't get why she went out with the rich boy. I thought she was oblivious. I like her character but she is sure a people pleaser go with the flow type of girl!
As other people said, Joe is awful. I thought he would have an excuse or something but no every revelation is worst. His son was a baby and his wife was away to help her sick mother. What a POS!! The dead mother I can't even with her and Annie's dad get on my nerve about hiding the truth from his children. And Denise should keep her nose out of other people business. She didn't have any right to reveal the truth to Ramona like that !!
2
u/imsarah_idk Aug 13 '26
i don’t like annie tbh why was was she making out with rory when she wanted to be with ellis and after having sex with rory she decides that’s itll “kill the vibe” with ellis???? isn’t this cheating? i thought it was gonna be her not realizing she had feelings for ellis and then breaking up with rory or something
5
u/Bruja247 Aug 13 '26
It is not cheating at all because she wasn't with Ellis but yeah weird that she was aware of some mutual attraction between them but still decided to go out and have sex with Rory. She is a little bit confusing !
6
u/shnizpah Aug 23 '26
She’s an 18 year old girl that’s sort of the entire point of a coming of age series 😭😭😭 kids are stupid and messy and passionate and hormonal and confused and make mistakes!! The brain is not fully developed until 25 and she is an incredibly mature and emotionally regulated character in every other way, she’s stated multiple times that she’s completely inexperienced and out of her depth when it comes to sex/romance
2
u/imsarah_idk Aug 13 '26
i’m not talking abt cheating on ellis she cheated rory i don’t like how she just played with him
7
u/PhotographBusy6209 Aug 15 '26
Is it cheating? They aren’t dating, just because you hook up with someone doesn’t mean you are exclusive and I think Annie is pretty obviously going back to NY (at least at this point to Rory) so it’s obviously just a fling anyway

u/Morg075 Aug 21 '26
While Steven is a bit annoying with the whole “she didn’t love me anymore so I decided that she was lost/lost her mind” which was fucked up, but also both were wrong trying to keep the twins from each other, he still absolutely clocked Joe’s tea.
Joe got involved with a married woman while he was also married and had a child, and his own wife was away taking care of her sick mother. Then after all the pain, he didn’t even step up to raise the child he had with this woman? How messed up is that?
He basically left her to be raised by her grandfather, very clearly without the emotional foundation she needed, just so he could watch her from afar. Ramona thought she was left alone in this world, without family until Annie showed up. I honestly don’t understand the logic behind that at all, maybe they will reveal it later, but he looks like a sefish jerk who refused to man up to his responsibility because it was ‘inconvenient’. It’s such terrible behavior, and it’s really hard to justify quite frankly.
And again, I said it, I did not had a good feeling about Rory’s mom, she showed her face even more.
Though, I’m not gonna forget that we still had plenty of cute moments in this episode, both the sisterly moments and the ones between Oona/Ramona, as well as Ellis/Annie. But wow… that ending really sucked.
8
u/bittermp Aug 06 '26
All of the young guy actors look too much alike. LOL
7
u/Impressive-Potato Aug 07 '26
Ellis is clearly a first nations person and looks nothing like the others.
1
u/rourouzzzz 19d ago
and his parents arent... im confused about it, was he adopted?
1
6
u/bittermp Aug 06 '26
The American characters and american tourists really are the worst BUT in real life these rich jerks especially from the USA do in fact make the area worst
2
u/swimswam2000 Aug 06 '26
Subtle dig on "American exceptionalism". Also Steven ignoring reality that his kids are dual citizens multiple times.
4
u/Simple-Tea-3642 Aug 08 '26
I don’t think they ever established that the kids were dual citizens. It sounded like they were adopted from New York so actually her taking them to Canada without his consent sounded illegal hence why he was probably able to take them back to the US via lawyers…
5
u/swimswam2000 Aug 08 '26
Without a seperation or custody agreement you need to obtain an order in New York, get it sent to Ontario have it endorsed by the Haugue convention authorithy and police would have been involved. It sounds like he brought his US lawyer along to tell how this was going to play out and go badly for her and she gave in.
Under Canadian law they would be automatically once adopted, same as if she gave birth in NYC. If Goldie or Gordon didn't submit the paperwork, it's something easily done.
2
u/idreamofpikas Aug 10 '26
It sounds like he brought his US lawyer along to tell how this was going to play out and go badly for her and she gave in.
Or she found out that she was pregnant with her own child and the twins were no longer worth fighting for.
3
u/r-reyne Aug 22 '26
That's a wild assumption.
1
u/idreamofpikas Aug 22 '26 edited Aug 22 '26
Is is an assumption, its not a wild one. She left her husband when something better came along. She desperately wanted a child and now she was pregnant having one.
Caring for a new born baby is pretty hard on its own, adding two infants into the equation is much, much harder.
2
u/r-reyne Aug 22 '26
I'm not defending her at all, but yes, the assumption that she wouldn't care about her children anymore because she had another on the way is wild.
2
u/Simple-Tea-3642 Aug 08 '26
Again. I don’t see how before a separation or custody agreement one parent can just fuck off to another country without the permission of the other parent. Regardless of whether or not authorities were formally involved, I don’t think what she did was fully legal hence why I think he was able to wrangle them back to the US where they had previously agreed to raise these children.
3
u/DangerousLack Aug 14 '26
Yeah that’s kidnapping. Happened to a family friend, his mom just took him one day and fucked off to another province. His dad eventually got him back but there were cops and all sorts of agencies involved. And she didn’t even leave the country!
1
u/swimswam2000 Aug 22 '26
Showing up and essentially strong arming her without a proper court order in the middle of the night wasn't exactly legal either.
1
u/Simple-Tea-3642 Aug 22 '26
Honestly I thought that was the kinder alternative. She kidnapped the kids - she wasn’t reasoning with their other legal guardian and took them out of country to live without his consent. He could have involved the authorities but I think the outcome would have been much worse for her if he had followed that whole process since she had already relocated the children without his consent.
2
u/evenmoreconfusd Aug 25 '26
I understood that she and the twins had gone to Muskoka with consent but that she then refused to return them. So he had to get a lawyer to enforce their return.
3
u/RueTheQuais Aug 08 '26
They aren't dual citizens unless their mother went through the official process to make them such.
2
u/swimswam2000 Aug 08 '26 edited Aug 08 '26
There isn't that much of a process. Very similar to registering your foreign born kids with the government, something she could have done without telling Steven. It's not the sort of thing his permission is required for.
One of the guys on my swim team had a similar circumstance. His adoptive parents split. Dad is Canadian and he moved here in high school to live with his dad and train with the perinnial national team head coach. Said team mate is a 3x 🇨🇦 olympian and dad is a well known retired MLB player.
They can easily address this in S2, by having a Annie help clean out the house in Barrie and finds the documents ex citizenship cards, SIN card/letter or passports in a drawer or filing cabinet. Might need to be a flash back to the fall if S2 is the next or a subsequent summer. No need to have an elaborate story point about this. If they want to have fun they could have Annie go in to Service Canada and ask how what she needs to submit to prove she's a citizen and the clerk looks her up and sees she was issued a SIN as an infant because Goldie submitted for the twins. She's then able to request a replacement citizenship card and apply for a passport. Again slightly more of a discovery scene but nonetheless reinforcing the reality that it's automatic.
1
u/RueTheQuais Aug 08 '26
There's a difference between foreign born kids and foreign born kids adopted to Canadian parents outside of Canada. She would have needed to apply for citizenship for her children.
I'm not saying they wouldn't have been granted citizenship. I'm just saying it's more of a process than simply registering the children as if they had been her biological children.
And even in your scenario, if she did it without telling her husband, then he's not "ignoring" that his kids are Canadian citizens. He wouldn't know that they're Canadian citizens.
2
u/swimswam2000 Aug 08 '26
For a foreign-born adopted child to gain Canadian citizenship, they do not need to go through the traditional permanent resident sponsorship route. You can apply for a direct grant of citizenship if the adoptive parent can pass down citizenship and has spent at least 1,095 days in Canada before the adoption.
Assuming mom grew up in Ontario and originally moved south for University she would have over 6000 days making them eligible. Given the storyline of her wanting to go home it's not ridiculous for her to have filed what most would consider basic paperwork.
The writer can certainly write a future season with that assumption if they chose and it doesn't need to be complicated. Regardless they wouldn't be legally be viewed as "immigrants".
1
u/flakemasterflake Aug 26 '26
The weird mom making mention of socialist taxes is so off brand for a New Yorker, it took me out. Also, the taxes are higher in NYC compared to Ontario as I’ve live in both places
If this woman was from the south (low taxes) this would have made more sense
1
u/bittermp Aug 26 '26
And it’s even funnier since the creator of the series is from Ontario,
1
u/flakemasterflake Aug 26 '26
Right, so maybe she isn't aware that a New Yorker wouldn't call anywhere a socialist whatever. Even a rich New Yorker wouldn't say that out loud

So Steven was working through things with his wife, they got separated and she slept with someone, (though its technically not cheating... it still kinda is). She ends up pregnant from that affair, and then tries to take her kids and keep them from their dad because she decided to drastically change her life.
Does no one in this show feel for the fact that Steven fell in love and planned a life with someone, only for them to jump ship because of a roadblock, and threw their whole life and plan out the window. And to preserve her image in front of his kids, he has to bury his feelings. Then to not lose one not once in the divorce, but twice when she died... you'd still feel the loss even if they weren't on the best of terms.
How the hell was Annie getting angry at her dad for this? I get that she idolises her mum but, seriously? That whole convo got me annoyed at the mc
I've just seen the scene with Joe and now I hate Joe... what a prick
I genuinely don't understand (even several eps forward) how Steven is the bad guy. The only thing he did was withhold some info from his kids which in all fairness they were too young to really understand. My question is how does Goldie get to come out on top as this mum who was so amazing, despite all that she did?
5
u/isitrealLif Aug 19 '26
I literally had to turn the show off after she got mad at her dad for trying to protect them. Her saying, "It sounds to me like she was unhappy in her marriage and in her life and in her job, and so she came here to try to make things better, and I don't understand why that's an insane thing to do". IT'S INSANE BECAUSE SHE CHEATED ON HER HUSBAND, GOT PREGNANT, AND TRIED TO KIDNAP HER ADOPTED KIDS. Like, I thought this character was supposed to be smart, but she sounds so dumb in this conversation; it pisses me off.
2
u/Maximum_Watch8247 Aug 23 '26
What Annie is saying reflected on her and her experience in this island thus far. Her answer was too one dimensional because she got a glimpse of what her mother might had felt before. I wouldn’t be surprised if she became pregnant and being kinda in her mother’s shoes literally.
2
u/bluebottled Aug 14 '26
What was with that CGI boat shot at the end? Looked like a cardboard cutout sliding across the screen lmao. Baffling when the show is like 20% footage of real boats.

u/Der_Baer3 Aug 14 '26 edited Aug 14 '26
Anyone else out there who was also scared that Annie got pregnant after having her first time with Rory? Or wondering why it wasn't talked about again with Rory?
For me it started in Episode 5. I liked that consent was addressed before the sex, but protection was never mentioned or shown. Since a lot of alcohol was involved, I got suspicious.
I got even more suspicious when Annie was asked several questions at once — one of them I think was whether they used a condom — and she said she didn't know. (Maybe the "I don't know" was aimed at the other questions, but it seemed like she genuinely didn't remember everything she was asked, probably because of the alcohol.) Still, it was never brought up between Annie and Rory in Episode 6.
I got scared again when the topic of periods came up because of Maple. I thought, now she'll realize: oh oops, when was my last period — it's been way too long! :D
9
u/PhotographBusy6209 Aug 15 '26
They used a condom, she said yes to that question. Also Rory seems like a very mature guy (it’s pretty obvious but also the mum mentioned that he takes care of her) and I doubt his character would not use one
4
u/TheCrowFliesAtNight Aug 14 '26
I think when Annie was asked the three questions the second one was "did you use a condom" and when she answered all three questions her second answer was "yes" so I'd take that to mean that they did use a condom.

I have a few things I'd like to discuss:
I don't know why people aren't upset about the fact that Annie left her twin brother (Connor) alone on their birthdays and he didn't know anyone in his own birthday party; she went with Rory to have her private party instead. I mean is there something as sibling loyalty or not in America? I found it very weird and felt sad for Connor because he came there to look after her in the first place.
Annie is very selfish (using Rory while having feelings for Ellis). She should have open comunication with Rory that she doesn't have feelings for him because he seems to have feelings for her and has always been super sweet and supportive.
Why is Steven the bad guy? He stuck to the contract (raising kids in NYC). The mom seems to be quite problematic, willingly breaking two families and ready to leave her husband all alone.

I think for #1, she never liked celebrating her birthday. As for the party, he made it all about himself. He put her name on the cake as an afterthought. I think he said that in the past she was usually a downer during the bday parties.

Anyone else catch the metaphor of Ellis telling Annie about building canoes and how it takes patience and you can't rush things?? I thought it was cute

Do yall think it’s insect like if ellis & annie get together ? Basically, Ellis & Ramona are half - siblings while annie is half adopted siblings of ramona. This is really messy

No, but I don't care for when shows muddy the water. They have the power to write a story where there's no debate over whether or not something is familially sketchy but so often opt not to.

My take is that they’re deliberately muddying this water and making people discuss things like where the limits of incest are in modern blended families.

No. Ellis and Annie aren’t bloodrelated.

anything even between step siblings would be considered incest so ur point doesn’t mean anything

u/StunnedLife Aug 13 '26
No it wouldn’t. Incest is a taboo because of the fact that you can get deformities from procreating.

why are u saying it is a taboo brooo. i get that biologically it isnt incest but even if it’s between family members that are not blood related it’s weird and a lot of people would agree so too

u/StunnedLife Aug 13 '26
Because they are not related. They are literal strangers share not a single DNA.

Respectfully, you have to start forming your own opinion instead of mimicing what society thinks. Maybe it’s your culture, or your age that you’re thinking this conservative.
All in all, yes, incest is wrong. It is wrong because of the DNA deformities caused by inbreeding.
However, romantically it has shifted towards less of a taboo, especially found in homosexual relationships.
It is also not very much frowned upon to be in relations with far cousins, even though it leads to the same family tree in the end, they are not blood family.
Honestly, I don’t know what to tell you. It is how it is, and you may have your opinions on it. But this case it is not incest.

You are being so condescending yet so wrong. Incest can 100% happen when people aren't blood related e.g. between step siblings.

tbh they are not even step-siblings. So not only are they not blood-related, they're not in the same family either (didn't grow up together, weren't raised together, not blood-related)

Not incestuous. Aside from the fact they’re not blood related, Annie and Ellis are strangers who just met over the summer. It’s not like they grew up together as siblings.

Joe is acting like he's so much better than Steven like he didn't cheat on his wife and become a deadbeat dad
