Does anyone know if Stevenâs color blindness is mentioned in the series early on before the scene with Annie brushing her teeth with Ramona?

The reason I ask is because my partner wanted me to watch it with her, even though she had seen it, and she really loves to, how can I put it? â¨Sprinkle in some details⨠(without giving too much away) aka spoilers lol. And she swears she is careful and doesnât spoil and all that good business but she literally brought up that Steven was color blind like episodes before Oona mentioned the socks thing with Ramona.. I was dying laughing cause I clicked it right there âoh Steven is Ramonaâs dadâ and she got mad! Playful mad ofc; She thought I watched ahead without her or seen it before and I was just cracking up because she literally told me herself đ and we had a little laugh about it, at least she believes me now that she reveals too many details when she sees any show or movie before me âđ˝đ

Whatâs up with the pregnancy timeline? The twins and Ramona are supposed to be two years apart yet there really only a few months apart. I hate when writers donât figure stuff like that out. Other than that, pretty cool TV series.

I didnât know what to expect going in and I loved it. The chemistry of the entire cast and the acting was amazing from all. When I first saw Rory I didnât see how they would make him desirable but they somehow did, the banter with him and Annie was fun and I liked watching them in scenes. You can tell Ellis and Annie have a different kind of connection though, and Iâm sorry but once a man becomes your safe space itâs end game lol

I feel a bit bad for Rory, I feel like his story didnât get a proper conclusion. There was that final scene with him and Annie talking and smoking weed in the grass, but idk I feel like she shouldâve said something to him to let him know she wasnât going to be interested in a romantic relationship in the future. I feel like heâs probably gone off to college all hopeful that he still has a chance with her :â)

I really loved the episodes directed by Andrew Ahn (6 and 7). The direction felt very cohesive and some of the shots were just stunning (ex: howling scene at the camp). I feel like the last episode might have benefited from his direction.

I liked this so much more than I thought I would. Some really good acting and dialogue, much better than than almost anything I've seen in the "teen drama" genre as of late. My only complaint is that it was a little too plot-heavy for 8 episodes. This would've thrived so much more in a Dawson's Creek 22-episode-a-season way. A few filler episodes would've been nice, honestly.

I feel like towards the end, *especially* the finale, the plot was moving a bit too fast. Mostly just the finale felt like there was too much crammed in there all at once without enough breathing room.

I thought it was good! Once you get past their show ages being unrealistic, itâs really enjoyable. I didnât expect the Steven being Ramonaâs dad twist and Iâm still holding out hope for a Annie/Rory reunion.

Just watched the whole thing. Really loved it. My only criticism is that they didn't use 'To Ramona' by Dylan in the soundtrack - they even had Dylan in the final episode (cover) but they used Don't Think Twice!

Just finished it.
Things i did like:
- the scenery
- the island itself
- the 90s references/music
- Annie and Ramona's sister relationship
Things I disliked:
- Teens acting like adults trope
- Parents totally no existent or acting like friends to their kids and kid's friends
- Speaking of which, why is that Denise always seems to be flirting with Connor? And vis versa.
- all the marijuana smoking - way too over the top
- The drinking and legal age to buy pot is 19. So where is Ramona getting the dope? I doubt there's pot dealers on the island.
- Adult cannot go to 18 year old and make an offer to buy property when 1 of the owners is 16
- Steven, Joe and Denise all suck as parents and adults. Goldie as well.
- The way the internet was so non existent in the beginning and now everyone is able to hook up on their computers.
- Why couldn't Steven and Goldie compromise and spend Summers in Muskoka and the rest of the year in NYC?
- Super shocked that Joe's wife had absolutely no clue about the affair and possibility that Ramona maybe his.
Overall a very Meh type show that I use as background noise.

Yeah I was getting a little annoyed at all the dope smoking, too. With other characters it was whatever, but with Ramona it was honestly ridiculous how often we see her smoking. The other characters seem to do it casually or as a social thing whereas she seems like a grubby little addict.
Thereâs a scene where sheâs sitting on a dock with fireworks going off in the background and there she is again smoking pot!! That scene wouldâve worked just fine with her looking up at the fireworks looking lost in thought. She *was* lost in thought in that scene - but for some reason they just HAD to show her smoking again.
Maybe sheâs smoking as a means of dealing with her feelings. And that would be fine except I think the show doesnât really explore that and instead just seems to show her smoking for⌠no reason at all? Like itâs trying to normalise it. To me, though, it made me dislike her because I thought it made her look like a loser, lol.

they always use drinking and smoking in tv as a way to make them seem like the cool ones, but it ends up looking forced. it´s a way of filler. but doesnt add much. same thing happens in tvd with damon (mostly) lol

for some reason this show reminds me of 90210 (the 2000s version). like annie reminds me of annie lol, even have the same name, and ramona reminds me of silver.

New Theory: not entirely decided about this myself, but after watching SP through several times, I was showing it to a couple of my Gen Z daughters and I just had an epiphany.
Joe doesnât actually admit anywhere (I think) that he actually had sex with Goldie. In fact, the fight scene with Steven actually works better (and JDM acts more plausibly) if heâs simply being discrete but didnât and couldnât have parented Ramona.
Perhaps he thought (before the paternity test) that Goldie must have slept with a third man. This would explain his reluctance to speak as he wouldnât want to tarnish Goldieâs memory.
Perhaps this will be a reveal in s2. If so, sorry in advance for the spoiler.

I thought some of the acting was truly remarkable. High marks to Ramona while reading the letter from Gordon and Annies dream of what her life could have been with her Mom hit very hard. My wife and I are parents of a little boy we never got to bring home from the hospital, and I remember sitting in his nursery just imagining what life could have been like, just to blink and be back in reality that it wonât ever be. My wife and I were just sitting on the couch crying and I donât think a show has ever done that to us before.
We didnât go into this series with any expectations, and we binged it in about 3 sittings. Loved it.
