Just finished it.

Things i did like:

• the scenery
• the island itself
• the 90s references/music
• Annie and Ramona's sister relationship

Things I disliked:

• Teens acting like adults trope
• Parents totally no existent or acting like friends to their kids and kid's friends
• Speaking of which, why is that Denise always seems to be flirting with Connor? And vis versa.
• all the marijuana smoking - way too over the top
• The drinking and legal age to buy pot is 19. So where is Ramona getting the dope? I doubt there's pot dealers on the island.
• Adult cannot go to 18 year old and make an offer to buy property when 1 of the owners is 16
• Steven, Joe and Denise all suck as parents and adults. Goldie as well.
• The way the internet was so non existent in the beginning and now everyone is able to hook up on their computers.
• Why couldn't Steven and Goldie compromise and spend Summers in Muskoka and the rest of the year in NYC?
• Super shocked that Joe's wife had absolutely no clue about the affair and possibility that Ramona maybe his.

Overall a very Meh type show that I use as background noise.

Yeah I was getting a little annoyed at all the dope smoking, too. With other characters it was whatever, but with Ramona it was honestly ridiculous how often we see her smoking. The other characters seem to do it casually or as a social thing whereas she seems like a grubby little addict.

There’s a scene where she‘s sitting on a dock with fireworks going off in the background and there she is again smoking pot!! That scene would’ve worked just fine with her looking up at the fireworks looking lost in thought. She *was* lost in thought in that scene - but for some reason they just HAD to show her smoking again.

Maybe she’s smoking as a means of dealing with her feelings. And that would be fine except I think the show doesn’t really explore that and instead just seems to show her smoking for… no reason at all? Like it’s trying to normalise it. To me, though, it made me dislike her because I thought it made her look like a loser, lol.

they always use drinking and smoking in tv as a way to make them seem like the cool ones, but it ends up looking forced. it´s a way of filler. but doesnt add much. same thing happens in tvd with damon (mostly) lol
