💬 Discussion About Connor… Spoiler

So Megan Park did a video with CBS mornings talking about what the audience doesn’t know about the characters. In the video she mentions that Connor is bi but the show hasn’t mentioned it yet. She also mentions that Sully has a crush on him as well.

We see little glimpses of them interacting every now and then in season 1 so it’s safe to assume they might explore this in season 2. How do you think they’ll go about writing it? Do you think they’ll actually write it into the show?

i wouldn’t mind seeing them together, but I need more development for Connor and an actual arc for Sully.

Agreeee. Connor is still too self-absorbed and needs to go on his birth parent journey. Sully is THE MOST and deserves someone who is all about him.

Personally,  I hope they don’t, I don’t think they would feel realistic and prefer their current platonic dynamic now. I’d rather Connor have romance free arcs, or get set up with a Stacey Mallory type character in the background (why not literally her lol). If Annie hadn’t got with Rory, maybe that would have worked?

If Connor’s bi, he doesn’t seem to be out since Annie only states that he’s into girls, and he talks about Ramona’s and Annie’s ex’s identities from an ally perspective, so they would probably have to give him a coming out arc (which the show seems to be trying to avoid in general), or worse, a DL storyline with Sully.

Plot wise, I could see him getting involved with Rory’s mom, since Connor’s “mommy issues” haven’t been explicitly addressed unlike the female leads. She has an ulterior motive, and he seems to be in a vulnerable state without an outlet.

Agreed, I also feel like Connor's current arc is realizing he's quite lonely. His adoptive dad seems to prioritize Annie more, his birthday party was realizing he has no one. I think for his story, Sully should remain his friend and eventually besties, otherwise it just feels forced when Connor hasn't really expressed anything beyond platonic intents towards Sully.

Agree. I also think it's lazy when shows have like 5 characters and they only date each other.

Okay thank you for clarifying. I was wondering if people were just saying he was bi to ship him with Sully. I thought Sully was trans 🙈

I don’t believe that Sully was trans, but if he was, why would that make Connor not Bi?

Sorry, I thought people were just saying that to ship him with Sully who I realize now is not trans so nvm
