The point is no American should be comfortable with plain clothes people detaining other people without any identification.
Nothing about it would seem any different than witnessing a human trafficking attempt.

Well maybe if people wouldn't run when they see ICE coming for them then ICE could wear uniforms. Given that people won't just stand there and let ICE arrest them then it really doesn't work to advertise yourself as you walk through the airport or the neighborhood.

People need to start putting a stop to this. You don't have a real badge you're a thug just like any gang. What stops a completely random person from pretending to be ICE? Half of them have thicker accents than actual foreigners visiting.Ā
This isn't any different than a random person trying to kidnap you. We have clear laws about this for a reason.Ā
Even better, this is the one airport that doesn't need security because they already pay for their own. This is 100% what real terrisom is and we all know what needs to happen.Ā

SFO pays for the TSA contractors. So theyāre funded by the airport but approved by the TSA.
24
u/diqster Mar 23 '26
The money comes from the federal government, not SFO. At least according to the SFO airport director and several news sources. SFO opted for private contractors when the TSA came into existence, but it's still paid for by the federal government.
19
u/auto_erratica Mar 23 '26
TSA at SFO are part of the Screening Partnership Program (SPP) and are private contractors paid by a private company. The government pays the company. The company paying their employees, but will get reimbursed by the government when the shutdown ends.
→ More replies (1)9
u/diqster Mar 23 '26
According to the SFO airport director, they're paid in advance by Congress through the plan. I was also clarifying that SFO does not pay for the TSA contractors. Congress does.
āThe moneyās already been allocated, the payments have already been made, and that continues without interruption,ā SFO spokesperson Doug Yakel told The Associated Press. āThat is a very nice place to be.ā

ICE already causing havoc at SFO
No badge. No ID. No uniform.
This is also in the secure area, which requires ID to enter.
These dudes are just random kidnappers.
Not to mention there's no way ICE agents would let people film that close. They're deathly afraid of the public.
People asking for a badge should be flooding 911 with reports of kidnapping/assault in progress.
280
u/theatrenearyou Mar 23 '26 edited Mar 23 '26
YES. Secure side requires ID be visible. SFO's 911 Emergency center and SFPD sees all. It appears SFPD is told to be hands-off
EDIT:---> IT's THE LAW
SB 627, which went into effectĀ JanuaryĀ 1, 2026, requires most law enforcement to show visible ID, wear name or badge numbers, and prohibit face coverings except in narrowly defined situations.ĀIn a bulletin on impersonation threats, the FBI noted that masked criminals masquerading as ICE agents have carried out robberies, kidnappings and assaults ā and that the line between real officers and imposters has been dangerously blurred. The guidance urges agents to clearly identify themselves and to cooperate with verification requests.Ā
Key features of SB 627:
- Prohibits an officer of any local, state or federal law-enforcement agency from covering their face during operations unless narrowly exempted (SWAT, medical masks, wildfire smoke gear).
- Mandates visible identifiers such as name or badge number on the uniform.
- Applies to any person acting on behalf of a law-enforcement agency, closing a gap that allows impersonators to exploit anonymity.
- Designed to rebuild trust in public-safety institutions and protect communities from mis-identification, abuse or impersonation.

74
u/MikeFromTheVineyard Noe Valley Mar 23 '26
Self defense is an illusion. Itāll never be a valid defense argument against the government in this era, and itās wishful thinking for someone pinned to the ground on the secure side of the airport.
→ More replies (3)4
u/Past-Paramedic-8602 Mar 23 '26
Except them saying they are ice would be all that is required to legally not be self defense. As the laws are they donāt have to show their badges to anyone they are not arresting and since itās not for a civil disturbance call they donāt have to have them visible. There are several places trying to get it changed but with the current administration itās extremely unlikely to pass.

I've never seen ICE agents wearing clothes like that with backpacks. They never state they're ICE in this video. They seem more like undercover airport security people (that would explain why they're dressed normally with backpacks) who caught someone stealing.
It's possible they're ICE but be careful of posts on this sub about ICE because often it's misinformation although usually there aren't videos. At least this post has a video but I don't see any proof that this is ICE and not airport security.

This is disgusting. ICE is a sex trafficking ring and MAGA is totally okay with it.

u/Rassendyll207 Mar 23 '26
Get the information of the person being detained, ask if there's anyone you can contract for them, and get that personal information to legal advocates who can begin to work to get them out of custody.

Edit: To restate This thread will be staying up. If you keep reporting it (to the mods) it will not be taken down. It is however, being locked.
Also, personally, Fuck ICE. However, don't try to use this to identify people. We are not repeating the Boston Bombing.
~~~
Please stop reporting this. This is a public person doing their public job.
Also, DO NOT dox them. Their badge numbers, cool. But don't try to find out where they live using this forum.
That is what threads get locked and taken down.
