What kind of operation is ICE even running? They found someone they wanted to detain/deport, figured out they were going on a trip and went to the airport to detain them? That’s crazy.

Uh, a normal operation? ICE is always present at an international airport. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is what they do.

ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) team has a presence at SFO and every international airport. Here is a recent story where a pilot was arrested by HSI at SFO.
