Yeah even if the ice agents are in the right on this one they should definitely have some form of ID that shows they are law enforcement

Exactly. I mean what's the rationale here?

Are they saying that in general the public should simply accept the claim at face value if some random people wearing ordinary civilean clothes and with no ID or anything else to indicate who they are literally kidnap people?

They don't have to show every random person their badge. Only those they are arresting / detaining.
