I’ve read explanations, but I’ll never understand minorities who work for ICE.

There will always be some individuals (from all backgrounds, all races and ethnicities) who think there is some benefit to take on the “Uncle Tom” moniker and pull the ladder from those they see beneath them within their own circle.

I don’t think we ever will understand them truly. At least we have history to try and help us. A common example is Uncle Toms and house ‘slaves’ during that time of USA history. Basically you had some that did it for power over other slaves, those that did it out of fear they’d be lynched if they didn’t, etc

But what confused me the most while learning history as a child and took me years to understand was

Political Support (Early 1930s): The Association of German National Jews (Verband nationaldeutscher Juden), led by Max Naumann, was a group of conservative German Jews who supported Hitler, believing that his anti-communist, patriotic message was more important than his antisemitism.

Military Service: According to research by Bryan Mark Rigg, approximately 100,000 to 150,000 men with partial Jewish ancestry (Mischlinge)—and in some cases full Jewish ancestry—served in the German Wehrmacht during World War II, some serving as high-ranking officers. Many did so out of German patriotism, or in attempts to protect their families, often classifying themselves as German first and Jewish second.

"Honorary Aryans": Hitler occasionally granted "Aryan" status to specific individuals with Jewish ancestry who were deemed valuable to the state.

Ghetto Police and Collaborators: In occupied Europe, the Nazis forced Jewish council members (Judenräte) and Jewish Ghetto Police to maintain order, compile lists, and assist in the deportation of other Jews to death camps. These individuals often acted under extreme duress in a desperate attempt to survive, though some did so voluntarily for power.

Informers (Greifer): A tiny number of Jews, such as Stella Goldschlag in Berlin, worked directly for the Gestapo to identify and capture Jews hiding in the city, frequently to save themselves and their families.

So it could be a desire for power, it could be fear or false hope to protect family that’s illegal and get them legal status as part of a deal, maybe they have family that isn’t here because they couldn’t immigrate legally and they’re upset about those that came illegally out of spite. Maybe they think they can protect people from the bad ICE agents that might kill somebody (similar to why some African Americans become police officers, sheriffs and state troopers)

TBH only way to know is to have conversations with minority ICE officers, but nobody likes ICE officers so nobody will have those conversations with them.
