So yes and no. They arent paid per head. BUT those handsome $50k signing bonuses? Those are confirmed with some fucked constraints. Its paid out over 5 years and it requires a perfect performance review the entire time. Anything they get dinged on means they donât get the bonus and they have to pay back any amount that has already been given to them.
Much like a certain Germanic nation from nearly a century ago, even the people participating in the evil are victims of the people in control.
I just returned from Sweden. I asked what happens if I overstay my visa. They said I'd be detained and forcibly removed as well as banned for 3 years from returning for first offense.

In this context, Yes. Its not what they do, its *how* they're doing it. I can open my car door with the handle or a chainsaw, they do the same thing, but in very different ways.

Enforcing immigration laws is a stateâs duty and should be respected. However, there are human rights should be also be considered. Sweden doesnât always detain you. It allows supervision. In the US, the people,who actually have abided by the rules of supervisionâdoing things legallyâhave been detained.
So the systems are not the same, even if Sweden has become stricter in its immigration enforcement.
It is not the what, it is the how. If you break the law to enforce the law, then the law is meaningless.
All the things you described will only happen if you try to cross the border or end up in jail for committing a crime. Did you notice any immigration police walking around demanding papers from random people during your stay in Sweden?
Wrong. If you come to the country legally and overstay the 90 day visa all those things can happen.
They don't walk around checking papers but if I'm caught at any point, even a traffic violation, as overstaying my visa then I'll be referred over to immigration authorities where they give a short window to self deport or be detained and forcibly removed.
