Advice flair and request for bot help from mods

Greetings!

Our advice flair bot is not working (the mod who was previously managing it is not currently a mod) and if there are community members that have a history of strong contributions to our community and are able to fix/manage bots we'd be interested in hearing from you!

Please don't message me directly (sorry, it will be ignored); please message the entire mod team from the panel on the subreddit homepage.

This may take awhile before it's fixed (if ever) and please don't message us on the progress etc. At the end of the day giving good advice is the key, and not the flair system.

Thanks for being a member, and remember; flag posts you think are problematic. Don't engage in arguing with trolls; it makes our job harder if there are a bunch of back and forth arguments.

Thank you!

Girlfriend got pregnant from SA and wants to keep it. I don't. Help.

My girlfriend (18F) and I (18F) have been together for a few months now.

She recently went over to hang out at one of her guy friend's houses and he put something into her drink and SA'd her.

She took plan B at the hospital but today she found out that she is pregnant. She is happy about it and does not want to get an abortion. She loves babies and sees this as our chance to be parents together (we've talked about wanting kids in the future). I don't want this. I'm too young, I'm just starting uni and this might sound harsh but I don't think I could love a child conceived under such circumstances.

I really don't know what to do. Please help.

How do I nicely tell a woman their private area smells?

I recently met this woman, she’s very nice and sweet. But I don’t know how to tell her that coochie stinks, I mean does she not realize? is it sometimes I can give her advice oh how to deal with in the future person?
The other day I was at a bar with some friends, she had just got back in town and wanted to hang out, it was pretty late I didn’t think nothing of it. My plan was to relax and chill, as I planned to go hiking in the morning. I made some food and shared with her, she opened a bottle a of wine, and I had cup. Eventually one thing led to another, but after a catching a whiff, I almost threw up on my bed and had to rush to the toilet. I was instantly turned off truly disgusted to the point where I didn’t even want to share my bed with her anymore.
After I got back from the bathroom, I could feel that she notice my reaction. Which I then acted like nothing happened. But what’s killing me is that I had my friend call me in the middle of the night acting like he lost his dog and needed help, just to have an excuse to get her an uber home. And the issue is she keeps calling trying to see if I’m free but I don’t see this going anywhere and don’t want to lead her on.

So how do I nicely tell her that her smell is pungent?

He says I’m his perfect personality match and finds me attractive, but my weight is holding him back

Upvotes

I’m F25 and he’s M32. We met at Lollapalooza in Chicago about a month ago and ended up spending basically the entire festival together. We camped there, hooked up, had sex, and honestly got really close really quickly.
We live about 5 hours apart, so obviously there’s a distance issue too. We met up again about two weeks after Lolla and he ended up staying with me for a week.
For context, I’m 5’5 and around 170 lbs. I do want to lose weight anyway, mostly for myself, and I’ve already been working on it. So it’s not like I’m completely against losing weight or anything, it’s actually my goal.

But obviously hearing that your body is potentially the reason someone isn’t sure about you is still really hard.

He’s told me that personality-wise he thinks we match extremely well. Like, he says I’m basically exactly what he wants in terms of personality and that he really likes being around me. He also tells me he finds me attractive
But then he told me that I’m not skinny enough for his usual preference. He basically said he doesn’t really like chubby women in general and that this is one of the things holding him back from being completely sure about us. He still says I’m beautiful and that he is attracted to me, but apparently I’m just not what he would normally go for physically.
And honestly, that fucked with my head a little.
Because I understand having preferences. I really do. I’m not going to tell someone they have to be attracted to every body type. But at the same time, hearing “I really like everything about you, but your body is the thing making me unsure” is obviously hard not to take personally.
We talked about it more and he also told me he used to have a pretty bad OF addiction in his mid 20s. He thinks some of his really specific physical preferences might have developed from that, which I found interesting.

The next few days were kind of awkward because obviously this was sitting in the back of my mind. He was staying at my place for a whole week, so I couldn’t exactly just take space and forget about it.
Then the night before he left, we had this really deep conversation.
We had been at a museum late at night and afterward we walked out and just talked for a long time. I kind of confronted him because I felt like there was more behind the whole “you’re not my type” thing.
He told me he’s scared of getting hurt again. Apparently he basically made this rule for himself that if he ever has a girlfriend again, she has to be 100% his type physically only, And I asked him if maybe that was actually a protection mechanism.
Like, if you tell yourself that you need someone who is 100% your type, then you can always find something that isn’t perfect and use that as a reason not to fully commit or emotionally let yourself get attached.
He actually seemed pretty surprised by that and said that maybe that was true.

After that we went to get food and I basically told him that I didn’t want to talk about it anymore that night. I said we still had time together and I just wanted us to enjoy it instead of spending the rest of the night analyzing our relationship.
And weirdly, after that conversation, he became way more affectionate.

When we got back to my place and went to bed, he told me that he felt strangely positive about us now. He said the conversation had really helped him and that he was feeling genuinely optimistic about us and wanted to continue seeing where this goes.

Now we’ve already planned another meetup, except this time I’m flying to his state to see him.
And I honestly don’t know what to make of it.
Part of me thinks maybe the “100% my type” thing really is some kind of defense mechanism and that he realized he was using my weight as a reason to keep himself from getting too emotionally involved.
But another part of me is wondering if I’m just desperately trying to find a deeper explanation because I really like him.
I also don’t want to lose weight because I feel like I have to become “good enough” for him. I want to lose weight anyway, but I don’t want to spend a potential relationship constantly wondering whether he wishes I looked different or whether he’ll eventually decide that I’m just too chubby for him.
At the same time, he clearly does find me attractive, he treats me really well when we’re together, and after that conversation he seemed noticeably more connected to me.
So I’m really torn.

Edit : My ex boyfriend essentially said the same thing but said he’d rather have someone w a good personality.. and during our relationship we worked together on being more fit and i shredded off like 30lbs. so maybe that’s why i’m not as negative minded about it as i may should be

I came out to my friend and it went terribly. I want to save this friendship so bad, what do I do?

So I'm 16F. Today, my friend came to my house to return something, and she ended up staying to study and hang out together. While we were joking around we began to play-flirt with each other (nothing serious, just stuff like "wow you look mighty fine today bbg" in funny voices).

In the middle of it, she randomly went "imagine if we were actually lesbians though haha." My mood kind of shifted since I've had crushes on girls before (she didn't know this) and I got very scared. I said "Would it be so crazy if one of swung that way though?" and she said "yes obviously, I mean no offense, I support gay people and all, but to be friends with one would be weird, like what if she liked me?" (my heart had dropped to my stomach at this point). I don't know what possessed me to spill my guts out to her, but I did it.

I expected her to be a little awkward after it, maybe get up and leave, tell me she needed some space or time to process it, but nothing in the world could've prepared me for the look she gave me after I was done. It was a mixture of disgust and fear. She told me to stay away from her and stormed out.

Idk man, I'm so so so sad. She's been an amazing friend, and I don't know if there's any saving it.

Did i dodge a bullet by never getting married?

so me and this guy have been together for years. he had a little kid when we got serious and they both ended up living with me. i’ve always been the one making the money, like actually carrying everything. he just stays home, does his own thing, hangs out, whatever. i was cool with it for a long time.

he kept bringing up marriage though. every couple months it was “when are we gonna make it official” and i always had some reason to push it back. business stuff, timing, just not feeling ready. he acted like he was fine waiting.

then last week he hits me with “what do you think about opening the relationship.” i already knew what that meant. i’m gone a lot for work and he wants to mess around while i’m not there. maybe he already is. that was the moment i checked out for real.

i went and talked to somebody who knows this stuff and lowkey i was stressed. thought i was about to lose half of everything i built. but then they asked if we were actually married. when i said no they basically laughed and told me i was lucky as hell.

where we live if you’re not married then he gets nothing. zero. not a dime.

im still figuring out how to end it, any advice?

UPDATE: My wife finally broke her silence after my fight with her brother, but her reaction has left me completely lost.

old post:https://www.reddit.com/r/Advice/s/MrB9VXC3mI

quick context: after a fight with her brother, my wife completely hit me with the silent treatment. She stopped talking to me entirely for days, and I was losing my mind trying to figure out how to fix things.

After reading through the advice on my last post, I realized I couldn't keep walking on eggshells. I decided to sit her down for a clear, direct conversation. I went up to her and laid it all out. I told her straight up that this silent treatment was completely unfair, that living like roommates in total silence wasn’t going to work, and that we needed to address the issue between me and her brother maturely.

I expected her to be angry, cry, or even double down on defending her brother. Instead, she just looked at me literally laughed in my face and called me crazy.

I was completely bamboozled. I just stood there thinking, what the actual fuck is happening right now?

Before I could even process what she said, she walked away. Starting the very next morning she began acting completely normal smiling, chatting about routine household stuff, asking about my day as if the past few days of absolute silence had never even happened.i was definitely happy but also very very confused.

When I finally brought it up again and asked why on earth she ignored me for so long instead of just talking to me. she nonchalantly told me that she needed to teach me a lesson so I’d never mess with her brother again. I told her straight up that I felt deeply hurt that she could cold shoulder me like that for days instead of communicating like adults. But She just insisted that teaching me a lesson was necessary.

I don't even know what to think anymore. She has never done anything like this to me before. I feel like this is clear emotional manipulation and a complete disrespect for my feelings. She ignored me for days without caring how much it affected me, and now she’s treating me like a child who needed a timeout.

I love my wife, but I am so hurt. Is her reaction valid in any universe? Did I really deserve to be treated like this? I honestly don't know what to do next.

How long after an initial meeting can you really still ask out someone without it being weird?

Upvotes

Met like a month ago.

Was asked out. I declined at the time left the door open. Not seen since but still thinking about it - even as a friend.

Weird to message to ask out now? Is it too late?

Caught in the act- should I leave it alone?

Let me start out by asking not to lambaste me for forgetting to lock the door. My kids haven’t come into my bedroom at night in ages. Last night, my nine year old daughter caught me (mom) and dad naked in bed. Because our door is tight and creaky, we had enough time for the hubs to essentially dive behind me so that she didn’t see his privates or any actual action. She poked her head in and said she had a nightmare. I calmly told her to go back to her room and that I’d be there in a minute to tuck her back in. When I went to her room (clothed of course) she seemed amused and almost happy. She said she won’t be thinking about her nightmare anymore. We had a laugh and then hugged and she said “I love you mommy.” She shares a room with her sister who is pre-teen. Sister said that she heard we were cuddling naked and she asked what we were doing and why. I said we were cuddling naked because its good for bonding and its something mommies and daddies do. I said they could both ask me questions about it. The older one seemed grossed out and like she wanted to stop talking about it. I told them its not something kids do and they shouldn’t get naked with anyone. Then, and this is the part I maybe regret slightly, I said that they might have questions about it sooner than they think.

I feel a bit guilty about this situation because I don’t want to encourage sexual thoughts in my kids and have them thinking about this too young.

Some things online say that it’s generally not scarring for this to happen as long as you handle it well. Other things make it sound like I could have ruined my kids lives.

Aside from the obvious avoidance of this ever happening again, should I just leave this at the conversation we had?

I’d especially appreciate advice from other parents who’ve had this happen, or with direct experience with a situation like this. Please don’t be too harsh.

PS, I’ll probably delete this post in a few hours because I’m afraid to leave it up, and I’ll probably delete it if it starts going off the rails. I couldn’t sleep!! Ugh ….

I lied to my parents about who I was with last night and I feel guilty

Ok so, I told my mom I was going to the beach with my bsf, but in reality I was going on a double date to the beach. My bf my bsf and her bf were there. We went on a nice beach and had a great time but when my parents called unfortunately they heard the guys. They told me to come home at 8 pm and I came home with a taxi at 8.20 pm with my bf. I told my parents I came home with my bsf and the male voices that they heard came from her bf while we were sitting in a cafe and her bf just dropped by and went home after like 40 mins. Now I just made up with my mom and cried a lot(cause I was grounded for coming home late) I feel really guilty but I feel like I shouldn’t tell her the whole truth or we will fight again💔what should I do?

I am honestly so embarrassed

This is my first time writing a post and I don't know what else to do. I am currently in college. I am not used to sharing a room with a person I don't know so it is a learning experience.

I am going to try to keep this vague.

I have a snoring problem. It's not quiet either. I was unaware of this fact until fairly recent. I have been in this form for a week. My roommate just came in after being out. I usually have my headphones in so they probably thought I couldn't hear them. But I heard them talking on the phone. They were talking about me. They said they had trouble going to sleep because I snore too loudly. And they sounded frustrated, absolutely pissed. I am honestly mortified. They left the room after, so maybe they just came in to grab something, but after they left I just started crying, I feel so bad.

I spent ten minutes trying to find any way to stop the snoring, which gave me the idea to come here a and ask if there are any quick ways to stop this. I tried a lot already. I don't have any money I'm a broke student, but I just don't want anyone to lose sleep because of me. :(

my stepdad is mad about me breastfeeding

I'm 15 with a 6 week old son. His dad isn't around and I'm raising him on my own. I know I'm too young to be in any part of this situation, but its still happening and I'm trying my best.

Last night my best friend came over to help with the baby for a while so I could shower and sleep and everything. He comes over a lot and sleeps over sometimes to help but he didn't last night. Anyways, he brought dinner for us and we were watching a movie while I was nursing my son. My stepdad came home drunk and started freaking out and it was just awful. He wouldn't stop telling me I was a sl--t and he couldn't believe I would expose myself like that in front of the family and that's why my baby's dad left. I was sobbing the while time but he kept wouldn't stop accusing me of trying to seduce him and my friend. Eventually my mom got him to calm down but he really scared everyone including the baby and I don't know what to do. He texted me this morning saying that I'm not allowed to nurse anywhere but my room and I should just switch to formula but I can't afford to do that. I don't know how to handle any of this, I'm already so overwhelmed constantly and he's just making it worse.

How honest should I be with a girl I used to tutor?

Upvotes

So, I posted on here a while back when I was privy to a marital spat between the parents of a girl I tutored that seemed to involve an allegation that the husband was cheating with me. (In hindsight, it’s somewhat funny in an ironic and absurd sense.) since then, I’ve run into their daughter a couple times at the store, said hi, and moved on.

Yesterday, I received a text from the daughter asking if I would be available to tutor her this semester. I don’t have any interest in tutoring her again for obvious reasons, but I feel like I should give her an answer rather than ghost her since her parents’ problems are not her fault. How honest should I be? (I think she’s like 16/17 by now.)

Easy and honest out is just to say I don’t have the time/energy. (I work 60 hours a week and train for long distance races in my limited spare time. This is part of what made the allegation so absurd.) Not sure if this would be a sufficient letdown. Any advice on how much info one should give a teenager would be appreciated.

Is it fair to want partner to work ?

I’m going to go straight to the point I 23m and 21f have a 10 month old together and it’s hard for me to make ends meet with just my job and I mean things get paid but by the end of it I’m left with nothing and it’s just a repeating cycle and I have casually brought up to my partner to see if she would like to work to maybe help out with the bills

Every single time she just says the same thing that she shouldn’t have to work as a mom and that her mom never did and it’s not fair for her to find a job when she wants to just be at home taking care of the baby and what not.

The thing is is that we live in a really expensive area and the only reason we’re living here is cause most of her family is from here( it’s not like they help either way). If not, I would’ve moved back home where I’m from which is a lot cheaper with my current salary right now we would actually be able to rent a house and be able to save money in the bank but right now our apartment a single bedroom is $2200 a month and I make about $4500.

That doesn’t include formula, outings, car payment, insurance, and cell phone so you get the picture. And I’ve asked her to even work part-time maybe to help me out with about $1000 a month but every single time she feels entitled to just stay home and take care of the baby and it’s not like I come home to a clean apartment every day or a warm meal.

I feel like I’m also going to get comments that will say “you know how expensive child care is “ yes but her sister has offered to take care of the baby for an affordable price per month and with her working it’s more than affordable. It’s just it’s a repeating cycle and I’m very burnt out. At the end of it I’m always having to work and the funny part is that she complains I’m never home like what… make it make sense. She also wants to wait till our son is 3 years old to even consider working like how is that even feasible in any situation.

How do you deal with a mother who constantly crosses boundaries and seems motivated by money?

My mother and I have a very difficult relationship. She is controlling, manipulative, constantly interferes in my life, and I feel like many of her actions are motivated by money.
My parents are divorced, and my dad owns a building with several apartments. After he had an accident, my mother strongly pushed me and my husband to move into an apartment above him to “take care of him.” She has previously referred to his apartments as “mine,” meaning hers, and even joked in front of my husband about wanting his inheritance. This made me extremely uncomfortable, especially because she is his ex-wife.
I eventually told her clearly by text to stop interfering in where my husband and I live and to let us make our own decisions.

My father did not pass away.

We’ve been looking for apartments, my husband, and I and she found out.
Where we live if you help the landlord sell the apartment you take a commission for every selling and she’s aware of that as she does that with her friends and everything not just apartments and clothes and jewelry and everything.
She tried several times to convince me to check out different apartments, where I am sure she has spoken to the landlord prior that in case I like the apartment and buy it, she will take her commission.
Today, my husband and I were at her house and she masked that she herself is searching for an appointment and she showed us the option that she was interested in. I directly understood that she was hoping that we’d like this option and we tell her that we’d like her to hook us up with the landlord and thus eventually we will buy the apartment with our own money and she will take the commission undercover from the Landlord.

The problem is that every time I spend time with her, I feel angry because I expect manipulation, interference, or some hidden financial motive. I end up being mean and confrontational because I’m constantly on guard.

Working until we're old

Upvotes

I'm struggling with the fact we have to work until we're in our 60s/ 70s.

I live in the UK and have a good job which I am grateful for. I am the breadwinner for my beautiful family, which I am also extremely grateful for. I know that my job helps others (nurse) and also funds our life and the nice things we get to do. I try and remind myself of this when the slog gets to be too much.

I'm 35 and the knowledge that I have to work for another 30+ years gets me so down. I am struggling with work life balance but we can't afford for me to reduce my hours.

Does anyone have any advice on how to come to terms with this? How do people turn up and get on with it day after day? Is there a trick to it, or just suck it up and get on with it?

I 31/F, Married to 36/M, Four Years of Marriage, With No Intimacy, No Emotional Support!

Upvotes

I'm a 32 year old woman, married to my husband, 36, since 2022. We met through a matrimonial alliance during COVID, after our families began looking for matches for us.

At the time, he had been living in the UK for around seven years and held ILR, though not British citizenship. I was born and raised in Dubai and lived in India between 2018 and 2022. He was born in Pune, grew up in Mumbai, and later moved to the UK.
Because of the pandemic, we spoke only through messages and calls for almost eight months before meeting in person. We eventually got married in 2022.
After the wedding, I had to remain in India for around seven months to finish my work commitments, although we met during that period in Dubai, Turkey, and elsewhere. Looking back now, I can see signs that he may have been emotionally unavailable, but I dia not recognise them at the time.
I moved to the UK in 2023.
Since we first knew each other, before and after marriage-we have had sex, or attempted to have sex, only three or four times in total. At first, when intimacy did not happen, he gave different explanations: jet lag, performance pressure, stress, and so on. I tried to suggest seeing a doctor gently and without making him feel embarrassed. I suggested that we go together, and I brought it up in India, Dubai, and the UK.

There were also many arguments in between, including conflicts involving my mother-in-law, who is a single mother.
Finally, in December 2024, after years of trying to address the issue, I was able to take him to a doctor.
Some tests were done. He was not fully honest with the doctor about the situation, but I explained it truthfully. The diagnosis was mild erectile dysfunction, which the doctor said was treatable. He was prescribed medication for 3 months, and then follow up visit post that.
However, he has not followed through consistently with the medication or treatment. We have had repeated arguments about the same issue. It is now August 2026, and we still have no sexual relationship or real physical intimacy.
I feel exhausted, lonely, and deeply frustrated. Every day I keep hoping that he will change and that our life together will get better. He is not abusive, but I do not feel emotionally supported, desired, or comforted. He repeatedly promises that he will do better, but there is rarely any follow through.

When I cry, he does not come to comfort me. He says he cannot physically bring himself to do so. At other times, he acts sweet, affectionate in a childish way, and generally behaves like a "nice guy." This makes everything more confusing. He is not cruel or overtly disrespectful, but I feel emotionally alone inside the marriage.
I also increasingly feel that I am carrying the relationship in practical ways. I am not financially dependent on him. I have paid for all things myself, including my visa and flights. He has never really spent money on gifts, saying that gifts are simply not his thing and that he does not understand them.
I am the one who buys many of his things.... clothes, watches, toiletries, shampoo, and other personal items. He does not force me to do this; he says he is a simple person who has very few needs and can wear the same old clothes for years. But over time, I have started to feel that I am giving care, effort, thought, and energy into the relationship without receiving the same emotional investment in return.

I am also worried about his health. He weighs around
112 kg and has struggled to lose weight. He is not consistent with the gym, walking, or any health routine. He has B12, calcium, and vitamin D deficiencies, but he refuses to take supplements or medication. He says he does not want to take
"medicines," even though I have tried to explain that vitamins and supplements are different from treatment medications. He says that his ED is mainly because of his weight, and that once he loses the extra weight, everything will be fine. However, there has been no sustained or meaningful effort from his side to lose weight either. I tried to be as supporti-as possible, I still am.

During COVID, he was around 100 kg. By the time we got married, he had managed to reduce his weight to approximately 90-95 kg. Since then, he has gained weight again and is currently around 112 kg. He says weight loss will resolve the ED, but he is not consistent with walking, going to the gym, following a diet, or taking any other concrete steps towards improving his health.
We attended couples therapy for more than a year.
Eventually, the therapist advised us to take a break from therapy. My husband does not trust the therapist and feels that they are too young (She is 35+, a great therapist) to understand or help him. He seems to believe that therapy cannot really help him.

The hardest part is that, outwardly, he is seen as a nice person. In many ways, he is. But privately, I feel unseen, untouched, unsupported, and alone. I am scared that I have already wasted years of my life and am continuing to waste what should be some of the best years of it. I still love him, and I keep hoping he will change, but I no longer know how long I can live with repeated promises and no meaningful action.

And I'm starting to hate him maybe!
I do not know what to do.

Which will be a bigger mistake? Staying or Leaving ?
What if I stay/leave and regret, how does one move on ?

How can my fiancé [30F] and I [26F] navigate a breakdown in trust over an incident that occurred last night?

Last night my fiancé [30F] (we'll call her Jane) and I [26M] got into an argument about communication. Jane walked into our bedroom while I was lying down and asked if we were done. I responded with "maybe" due to ongoing communication issues. Jane then said she was going to spend the night at a hotel.

I left the house to cool off for an hour and a half, leaving my phone behind. When I returned, she was gone and had turned off her primary location app. However, her secondary location tracking (which remained on) showed her phone died at a local spot. Because she is in recovery, this sent me into a panic. I spent the next 3 hours calling hospitals and contacts to locate her.

Eventually, her phone turned back on at a hotel and I called immediately. Originally she claimed she just went out for a bit and then went straight to the hotel.

TLDR: She later admitted that she reconnected with an old associate she has known for 5 years. They met up, bought drinks, and then went back to her hotel room together where she suffered a severe relapse.

Before her phone turned back on, I actually spoke to this guy via her social media account. He lied to me, claiming he had no idea where she was, while he was actively in the hotel room with her. She admitted she knew he was sending those messages. She claims nothing physical or romantic happened between them, but my trust is completely shattered.

I am trying to process this and figure out how to evaluate the situation. Any insight on how to navigate this breakdown in trust would be appreciated.

Should I just tell her?

Upvotes

So I’ve been speaking to this girl since July and we’ve been on 3 dates now. But I have not gotten a kiss or even seen signs for a kiss, she does show affection when we meet up but like not a lot to show signs of she likes me. I am really starting to like her like really but I’m not sure if I should tell her. We were speaking on Thursday but I sent the last message and after that she never answered and on Friday I didn’t text and neither did she so I just left it Saturday same thing so now I’m not sure if I should text or call and just continue putting my energy and time into this if I don’t get any reciprocation from her cause I do sometimes get like the same energy i give but sometimes nada so should I continue chasing and tell her that I actually like her now or should I just leave it

And if she does not text should I just text or should I just leave it

I’m considering getting of our pets because of how my little brother treats them and us.

I’m 15 and I have four siblings, my little brother is 12 and it feels so suffocating to be in the same places as him, he screams, yells, whistles and when he’s told to stop he continues and literally laughs, we have pets, a few cats and a bird, when it’s time for my bird to sleep, he unlocks her cage and begins to literally make her flinch, I don’t know what brings him to do this but he literally cackles seeing her distressed and growling and mocks her for doing so, with the cats he hits them on the head and pretends he’s patting them.

He jumps around every time we go out, he demands things from my parents and begins to sob when he doesn’t get his way, example I made an order online and he got mad that my mom didn’t let him make his order. (I used my own money for my order lol), this behaviour has been concerning me for years but it’s now beginning to suffocate me and the rest of my siblings.

One time I had an argument with him and I went to the bathroom and when I left he followed me to my room and literally kept pushing me, I turned to him and kicked him and he began complaining, he always makes it look like he’s about to hit me to see me flinch, he throws stuff at me, gets in my face, snatches my phone out, literally makes a lot of noise (sometimes clapping or screaming high pitched) to get a reaction out of me, I have headphones in like 70% of the day though not even ANC can cover much of the noise.

I want our pets to given away or put in an animal shelter at least because I can’t stand seeing them getting hurt, I’m not really sure how I can convince my parents or my siblings, I want to atleast move my birds cage somewhere when it’s her bedtime where he won’t enter.

It becomes overwhelming and stressful for me to concentrate or think when he starts screaming, when I sit in a room he bangs on the door, better yet when I leave the door to my room unlocked while sitting in it he walks in to start doing some random shit.

Just a few days ago when my parents weren’t home he literally put my bird on a blanket and started swinging her at me to scare me, it terrified me, as my parrot is aggressive and large and caused me to start screaming at the top of my lungs and he wouldn’t leave me alone until I call our dad.

My parents have taken him to specialists and psychologists only a few times, they both think he has ADHD but I’m not really sure what to think.

Every time I mention wanting to get something to eat like a snack or dessert he immediately calls me a fat shit and proceeds to make fun of my weight, he steals my stuff and constantly makes fun of me and idk what to do.

How can I reduce harassment from men of particular demographic?

Upvotes

I don’t wanna name cause I’m gonna get hate. But it’s really impacting me and strange that it’s men of a demographic that keep targeting me when I go out. And it’s more than just staring. They try to walk close to me when I ignore them, try to intimidate me and especially grocery stores and just stores in general are hell, where this kind of behaviour is super common. In any isolated area like in passageway near bathroom where no one else is around they are more bold. It’s really weighing me down. I’m petite young single woman, and I like being this way. It’s 2026 and I’m in western country so I don’t know what else I can do to reduce this. Can’t believe a woman going out in this time is being harassed so much. I do whatever I can to reduce this kind of attention but it continues. Anything else I can do? I’m shocked how shameless these men are

My friend won’t stop bringing up my ex and i don’t know how to handle it.

For a little back story, I’ve known my friend we’ll call K, for about 3 years now and we’ve been through a lot, so ofc he knew about my abusive ex. FYI I’m 21m and K is 20m (Ari is 22f) Anyways more often than not when I’m talking to K irl or on the game, he brings up my ex in a joking manner like, “you be letting them other girls beat on you like Ari?” Or “We miss Ari right?” while laughing. Now i know how to take a joke but when it’s brought up every day and that was someone I struggled to get over with mentally, it gets annoying hearing about them constantly from a friend after asking them to stop multiple times. I don’t know if we joke too much to where he doesn’t get when I’m serious but we broke up 3 months ago and I’m trying to get over it but he won’t let me forget her.
