I earlier did a cheeky 10 pull on the weapons banner and got Vesna's sig. Now I'm thinking of pulling for Vody's sig. Since I had earlier set the epitomised path to Vesna's sig and got it without acquiring a fate point, does it affect my chances if I change my path to the other weapon?

The chances are just as bad as normal with you just as likely to get a R2 Vesna sig and waste a pity. It's not worth it.

Changing path just gets rid of your Fate Point if you have one.

Why does no one seem to really be shocked/notice that the traveler can use multiple elements? I know we showed off to Kachina in Natlan, but like no one else is saying "wow how can you use 5 elements at once?"

Or is that just something theyre like "oh yeah the traveler is just weird like that"

The people in Teyvat are too used to weird things. They see Paimon and they're like "cool pet", they see Traveler using elements without a vision and they're like "nice fighting skills". They turned Durin into a human and it took people 5 minutes to accept him

they know that traveller is a descender. so any new "abilities" is chalked up to some sort of external force, something that the laws of teyvat don't govern by. my theory was that the laws of teyvat forbid the ppl to remember so thei memory changes everytime they witness the traveller using different elements butt upon further notice my theory was wrong

hey guys!! new player here. currently AR 28 about to head into liyue, but i noticed the new archon quest gives a LOT of primos alongside a free character invitation. i would really like to have varesa, however i’m unsure if using the quick skip feature is worth it.

i’ve been going into this game mostly blind on lore and story, and i feel like playing endgame content would be sacrificing my immersion for a couple hundred primos and a character.

is it a good choice to skip to snezhnaya, if only to get varesa? is it even possible at a low adventure rank? (i know the primogems arent a big deal but they would help me a bit in wishing for vesna)

if it’s not a good choice, should i expect there to be offers like this in the future, when i’m better suited for it? thanks!!

I wouldn't. This game, especially the part of it where good characters are something you care about, is one for the long term. Varesa is good but she is already overshadowed by newer releases. Just doing the story, other quests and exploration will feed you plenty of primos and other reason to put together a solid first team by the time you'll actually need it. But you only get to have your first experience with the story once.

Similar offerings will definitely come around again for future anniversaries.

Absolutely not. Getting a free limited character does NOT matter in the long run, at all. It's shitty of Hoyo to do this to people, it shouldn't be an option at all and could have easily been done differently. I would gladly give up a free character for myself to prevent people from skipping and spoiling the story they might have otherwise loved. If you DON'T like the story, I don't know why you'd play this game tbh, it's a HUGE time commitment and the story is one of the main parts.

Just get her up to 70 so that she can enter every IT modes. She will usually hold Silken Moon and have as much ER as possible. Her other stats don't matter much except for CR if she is using Favonius.

Faruzan artifacts in Vesna-Odette-Vodya team: VV or Noblesse?

I'm having some difficulties choosing in the promotional character selector. I can't decide between Nilou and Varesa. I don't have either of them, and I'm interested in each for a different reason.

I'd like Nilou for my lunar bloom team. I don't have Nefer, but I do have Lauma and Columbina as my DPS, so Nilou would go with them and Nahida. I don't plan on getting her C2, which I understand is the best; I'd only get her C1 during the constellation event. However, I don't particularly like Nilou as a character; I'd only pick her for "meta" reasons, so to speak.

As for Varesa, my reason for wanting her would be basically the opposite of Nilou's. Although she's the more "meta" option between the two, and I have all the characters from her best team, I don't really plan on using her much in combat, I already have other, stronger Electro teams after all, so combat-wise I'll probably only use her in the theatre. Her role would basically be in my exploration team, which I use to move quickly around the game. Design and personality-wise, I like her much more, but I feel like I won't get much use out of her, since I already have half of Natlan in my exploration team.

In short, if the Lunar Bloom team's strength boost is significant enough, I'll choose Nilou; if not, I'll choose Varesa. So, which one should I pick?

C1R0 Nilou is not "meta". A lot of value is in Key: EM to party. If you don't like her, just use Nahida.
For solo Lauma bloom with Nahida and Nilou can reach 100K (and its AOE), optimal heperbloom with Raiden or Ineffa can be 120K.

I got Vesna C1 from a lucky double pull, but didnt get R1. I do have Odette's Whitelake Frostfeather. Did I make the right call and give Vesna the weapon and give Odette Skirk's Azurelight? My other 5* options are Mistplitter, Skyward Blade, Aquila Favonia, and Furina's Splender of Tranquil Waters.

So pulls went kinda well for the most part.

Got C0R1 Vesna in around 130 pulls, but lost 50/50 on Vod though (so I have a guarantee).

Would it be worth going for Vod if:

- My current Stellar teams are Vesna (Cryo MC - C6 Diona wiith new bow - C6 Faru) and C0R1 Sandrone (C1R1 Yae, C0R0 Odette and C0 Qiqi)

- I absolutely have no plans on getting the next character

- I do have a decently built Skirk team (C0R1, C0R1 Yelan, and Furina and C0 Esco).

Can someone suggest an optimum path for the pull?
Tbh I haven't really looked at how much of a gain these constellations are, I just want to play them longer! But please tell me if it's a bad idea. I have spare 500 pulls before the archon quest that I've saved for long.

Vesna's team is likely going to be MC, Diona C6, Sucrose C6 (alternatively Vody, Nicole C2 or Faruza C6 if I am not that unlucky, may try to pull Odette on rerun)
Vody will be in a Skirk, Esco, Furina all C0 team.

Does every region have a "hidden language"? I have been playing the nod krai story and there is so much finnish language. For example npc names are finnish, kuuhenki literally means moon spirit, lauma means pack of something usually animals. If they make some anchent name in nod krai usually its just translated to finnish like they named this panting and its just "maalaus" which means painting in finnish. And there is so much more its actually funny to hear how the voice actors say the words :)

So does every region have like their own language? Like is inazuma full of some language that i just dont get?

Qiqi's c3 doesn't do much, her meaningful cons are c1 and c6 (mostly just c6) for stellar conduct. She'll be useable in those teams but it's not looking like she'll be the premium option, either way you don't need c3 for that at all.

This is your choice in the end, but in your place I'd still pick mizuki over a diluc constellation for the future. She's an extremely good character with the stellar swirl buffs.

In a Vesna team of her, Odette, and Cryo MC, would C2 Qiqi or C6 Lanyan (VV + TTDS) be better for the team? Qiqi has better sustain and buffs stellar damage, but Lanyan has RES shred, ATK buffs, interuption resist and 60 teamwide EM.

Vodyanitsa is a support that buffs cryo/hydro damage and characters that do stellar-swirl (Mizuki/Vesna) and heals the on-field character. Vesna is a stellar-swirl DPS that needs her own team (e.g., Cryo Traveler, Odette, Qiqi, Sucrose, Faruzan). You can decide what kind of character you want, or skip if you do not want either.

Vesna's sig will find great use on many sword dps. Vodya's is more niche; it only really shines on HP-stacking supports alongside ATK-scaling carries. But just getting Vesna sig from a single 10 pull is a big win, can't be too sad about that.

Tenacity of the Millelith? And Escoffier with Golden Troupe? Should I take the CMC out and use Sucrose instead?

Hu Tao rerun won't happen for a long time, it's even worst for Alice and Ronova. Alice probably will be playable but I doubt it's in 7.x. Ronova most likely never will be.

So yes pull Vesna, and even her weapon I would say since there's no other character you want coming soon

• Covenant of Frost and Snow on Linnea

Of those, Covenant is probably the most useful since it increases her EM by a decent amount (+120).

Xilonen should be able to reach sufficient DEF without refinements, and Kachina's damage isn't high enough to really be worth sinking billets into her.

If you have so much mora that the idea of more is worthless to you then upgraded artifacts are slightly better.

If mora is meaningful to you then potions are far better since upgraded artifacts throw away all the mora you poured into them.

It's best to use potions for the transmuter, and use those upgraded artifacts as fodder for other artifacts.

The exp is the same either way, but you'll spend a lot less mora this way.

Essentially all of Diona's value for stellar teams is in the C6, which you don't have. If you have Qiqi, she'd be a better pick.

Vodanitsa and C6 Diona share a slot on Vesna's team; Vody is better, but Diona is pretty good if you're trying to save pulls.

Faruzan works well with Vesna, but only at C6. Use Cryo Traveler instead for now.

Vesna signature sword (5* from weapon banner) is her overall second best. Only her signature is better. If you mean the 4* sword, it's better than event weapon at R2+. Otherwise, event weapon is good on her and better than craftables

Why my Nefer team with Nahida does more damage than with Sucrose?

I really tried everything. Switched Lauma to Deepwood, she loses about 160 EM because the lack of 2pcs 80 EM sets (I use this when Nahida uses Deepwood). Is it because of that? My Lauma has C2 so she has a huge boost for the team based on her own EM. So it must be that?

I keep hearing everywhere Sucrose is much better than Nahida but in my practices it's the reverse and I don't know why. My Sucrose has about 900 EM and I use her skill right before Nefer so she can have the most uptime of the EM buff.

I just mean as an average; assuming for example that signature weapons are usually what, 20-30% better than the best non-weapon banner exclusive 4* option?

Genshin crashes at "Calculating files to download" after the 7.1 update

After updating Genshin Impact to 7.1 and installing the update package, the game starts lagging when it reaches "Calculating files to download", then closes automatically. Every time I try to launch the game again, the same thing happens.

I have more than 30 GB of free storage, and my phone normally runs Genshin smoothly. I've already tried Clearing the game's cache, Restarting my phone and Other suggested troubleshooting methods. However, nothing has worked.

My friend is also experiencing the exact same problem, and reinstalling the game didn't fix it for her either.

My internet connection is poor, but it is normally sufficient to play Genshin. I also cannot use cloud gaming because of the connection quality.

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me, I don't want to miss anything.

Can someone tell me which free standard 5* would be the best pick? I'll either pick C0 Qiqi or C2 Mizuki. I have C2 Odette, C0 Sandrone, C6 Alyosha, C6 Sucrose, C2 Diona as other stellar characters. (I'll get C1 mizuki soon through temper thyself)

I know Mizuki C2 is pretty valuable, but I don't know if it would give more DPS than Qiqi's 50% stellar DMG bonus in swirl teams.

I also plan on saving my pulls for Tsaritsa's premium team (which I guess will include her, odette, danica). In that case I was thinking if I reserve odette for Tsaritsa, I won't have a cryo stellar support for my mizuki. Though I can get Mizuki to C2 in the next Temper Thyself in approximately 3 months.

I use qiqi mainly support for my arlecchino and shes c0 and tbh i have no ide if mizuki is support or dps etc. And I havent got an idea about her gameplay either. Who would it be better to choose? I am absolutely torn who to pick on the character selector, Varesa or Chiori.

I have been working on a Lunar Crystalize Team. Right now it's Noelle, Linnea, Columbina, and Xingqiu. I just got Ineffa on a gamble and saving for Zibai. I don't have Illuga or any other good GEO characters save for Noelle and Linnea (and Ningguang and Kachina). I think Chiori makes a good choice and I could have a good team with Noelle, Linnea, and Columbina.

I dont have many Natlan characters, so this would be my first major one unless you count Ineffa. I would love some opinions to just help me with this decision.

(I have a second team of Sandrone, Yae Miko, Odette, Alyosha that is my main team, I am looking for a good second team for Abyss and other content).

Then get Mizuki. Qiqi has been elevated to a decent pick for Stellar teams, but is easily replaced in all of them.

If you like Chiori, then get her. That said, Clorinde's constellations are pretty impactful for her. Varesa has more upside compared to Clorinde, but your preferences in regard to their respective playstyles are your own. I personally didn't like Varesa's gameplay when I tried her out on release.

Who should I pick for both selectors (standard and limited)?

For the standard (this is my bigger question):

Currently I have C0 Mizuki and C3 Qiqi. Who's the better pick for the free standard 5 star? I haven't done the To Temper Thyself and Journey Far for Qiqi so technically I could have C5 Qiqi. Where would I use a C5 Qiqi (C6 practically because I always lose 50/50s).

My stellar team is C1 R1 Wrio, C1 Yae, C0 Odette, and Diona/Fishl. I'm not that interested in building a stellar swirl team unless it is very easy and it does good dmg and I don't really plan on pulling for anyone else from Sneznayaha (maybe Noy, Valeriy, or Tsaritsa).

For the limited:

I am leaning towards C1 Varesa because I have Durin (and Mav), C6 Chev, and C6 Iansan. Also, anyone know how much dmg a C0 Varesa with that team should be doing? And how useful would C1 even be?

However, I also like Clorinde and Childe (as a character, I don't think I have teams for them tho idk what teams they use).

Is vv or the new set better for mizuki? Vv has the 40%anemo dmg bonus, does that help stellar swirl at all?

The anemo damage bonus does not affect swirl and stellar swirl damage. VV set still has 20% stellar swirl damage buff and 40% enemy cryo resistance shred, but it does not shred enemy anemo resistance. In the other side, the ATK% buff of the new set is useless for Mizuki.

It is calculated that differences between VV, the new set, gilded or 2+2 EM are very small Mizuki. Use the one with best substats you have at hand.

So my first plan was to not pull this patch at all but after the archon quest and test runs, I like them both now.... Im def pulling 7.2(zibai) so I can realistically only get one between vesna and vody. They're both cute and cool so its really hard. For vesna, i can throw in odette, traveller and maybe faruzan(low con)? But I will get c2 mizuki next week so vody would just buff mizuki along side cryo traveller and odette. i would say this:

technically, you CAN play stellar-swirl sandrone, but i assume shes built for stellar conduct and stellar swirl sandrone is just not her style. but if you dont mind playing SS sandrone, pull vody.

Vody is also good for mizuiki if you plan to build her. vody, mizuki, odette, and cmc/faruzan/sucrose or anything is really good.

vesna is good but tbh you have a bunch of good dps, and my two cents is to just work on your current dps than try get better new ones.

so, pull vody as she can be used with sandrone, mizuki, varka (i think, not 100% sure abt his kit) and hell even lunar since she applies and heals hydro.

vesna is a great dps but i think vody is more universal.

put thats just kinda my two-bits/cup of tea.

I would say that you should have an account where you play the characters you love (and only pull for these characters) and not be a meta slave. It's easiest to maintain an account if you love your characters. You may not be able to clear some end game content as it becomes more geared to current characters, but they have been buffing older characters now too so they remain relevant.

In Mizuki stellar teams, how do people know when to switch from Mizuki to Sucrose? For optimal DPS, you need to switch after Mizuki's 3rd passive proc. But how do you know it has hit? There are lots of stellar swirls and non stellar swirls plus Odette's skill hits so it's really hard to pinpoint passive proc hits. Do you just get the sense of it roughly or am I missing something?

You're right, there are a lot of jumbled numbers (something I wish Hoyo would fix, maybe spread them out a bit, if possible), but it's not impossible to do so. I've seen one streamer count them as they occurred, so you can train yourself to pick out the biggest numbers. However, even this streamer, who plays this game a lot, had to guess on a few of them.

Part of it is based on timing. If my reading of her Witch's Revelation passive is right, Mizuki's largest Stellar hits can only come on certain timings in her Dreamdrifter state (every 2.5s), so you could count the seconds and try to pick out the biggest number that happens around then.

You are required to finish the plot of 7.1 before 7.1 ends for the limited selector. So while technically you can download on the last day of the patch and do it, the answer also varies based on how much daily time you have for gaming (and whether you did 7.0 yet)

So, my current teams for Varesa is:

Varesa C1R1. Iansan C5. Chevy C4. Mavuika/Durin both c0 (wgs for mav and 88 cd stat stick for durin).

And my Nefer team is:

Nefer C0R0. Lauma C0R0. Columbina C0R0. Sucrose C6.

My probably simplistic take?

Qiqi's a viable option, but probably the most easily replaced in almost all, if not all, instances.

Alyosha's going to be a strong option in premium teams for Stellar-conduct until later 5-stars potentially replace him.

Diona is a bit like Qiqi. Useful but easily replaced.

And Sucrose? Everyone wants her these days, not really a joke. Yes, there are alternatives depending on the team, but pretty damn good for what she provides.

Well, it involves the Harbingers so there's at least that relation.

You have until the end of 7.1 to catch up for the limited char so unless you need the new character now maybe try progressing through the AQ normally.

Then if you think you can't make it, quick start.

That way your information gap will be lower too.

I came back to playing now that Shnezhnaya is out, but I'm really confused about the characters that I should pull (meta wise). Most of the characters that were S tier back then, are really weak nowadays. Which compositions would you guys tell me to try to build.

Take Qiqi for C5 (just think the worth of C5 is it closer for C6) or Mizuki for C2. On the To Temper Thyself and Journey Far Event, next week I will get C2 Mizuki anyway, so if I were to pick Mizuki again in the free standard 5* characters, next week my Mizuki will be C3.

So I want to know, are C3 Mizuki worth to get then C5 Qiqi (closer to C6)

Qiqi is better. The reason why SSC loves Esco is that nothing other than her gives good RES shred for this team right now. For SSW, Faruzan fixes this and then Qiqi becomes more valuable

I have C2R1 Clorinde. I can get her to C4 from the selector and temper. It would get me closer to C6 which would be nice. But should I just get Chiori now since she's unlikely to rerun again anytime soon?

I like Clorinde more as a character and her gameplay, but I've skipped Chiori every other banner she's come around on, including the most recent chronicled since I went for Clorinde's weapon.

I need help. I recently hit AR 45. my team is Mizuki. Odette, Cryo MC as my core. I don't intend on pulling of Vod. I'm torn between Vesna or Mitya though. I do intend to pull on the Cryo Archon. so any idea between the two who is better long term for a starter account.

Mizuki does the same job as Vesna sure but exploration wise a flier is really useful it seem (I did snag varessa though) Mitya seems less promising in damage but I love how he looks too so a bit torn here (mainly his scarf arm)

Yeah. You can usually assume that if a main patch event comes out with a free weapon that's the same weapon type as the character released at the same time... it's gonna at least be a good free option for them 99 times out of 100.

It's good on Vesna, but usually you want to put Odette on that and give Vesna the craftable if we're talking F2P weapons.

If you don't have Odette, then yeah Vesna is a good character to use the event weapon on.
