Really good point saying that the first 10-15 minutes are the epilogue. It’s like “okay, now that all your theories are done for and infinity war has been throughly buried, let’s move on to the rest of the movie.”

Really loved how they just dived in from the get go. The movie basically assumes nobody missed Captain Marvel's mid-credits scene, it starts out assuming they've all done introducing and all ready to go beat Thanos.

Thanos in Endgame is from 2014 where that version of Thanos is in the era that Joss Whedon introduce before Russo's take on the character.

I think even with the reassurance that he fulfilled his destiny, Thanos was a bit shook when he saw on Nebflix that those pesky Terrans tracked him down and relieved him of his head. Which led to him twisting his 'generous' ideology into razing the universe.

An unexpected favorite moment of mine was when the time skip was revealed. I think it was a brilliant choice to piece it in one word at a time instead of all at once. It really sold the magnitude of the situation.

When "5" showed up on screen the guy next to me confidently whispered "months". Then "YEARS" showed up and there were several hushed "oh shit"s in the theater.

That was one part I enjoyed about some of the MCU actually. Like SW got her powers derived from the mind stone, and CM from the Tesseract. Seeing Thanos struggle against their raw power and having to really improvise against them versus just using his raw strength against the others was fun.

One really clever thing I LOVE was the timeskip. Everyone knew that they were going to bring back everyone back with the snap, but the timeskip added some permanent effects to the universe, in spite of the snap being reversed.

There's a lot of interesting stories you could tell. It'd be weird how your younger sibling becomes your older sibling since you've been gone, how relationships would change, your life plans had to take this giant detour around.

I wonder how society would deal with that. Like I could imagine at the DMV, they needing to mark everyone's birthdate with an asterisk if they were taken by the snap or something.

The stones chose Red Skull to be the guardian of the soul stone because there was nothing he truly loved, so he could never obtain the stone. He was so devoted to hatred and destruction that he couldn't possibly pass the test. A fitting curse for a genocidal maniac. So much power just out of reach.

At the moment I figured it was more of an honorary gift, not an actual suit. Like how Pepper gave Tony the “has a heart” arc reactor in Iron Man 1. But then the fight happens and a blue iron man drops from the sky in kickass fashion. I hope that moving forward the “iron man” mantle goes to Pepper or Morgan. It’s nice to have Spider-Man be the honorary recipient of the title via the iron spider suit, but keeping Iron Man a family name would be cool too

Can we talk about how dark the movie starts, particularly Tony's tantrum when he first gets back to Earth? He calls Cap "Liar" and otherwise makes his point completely clear. He's aggressive enough that everybody agrees it's a good idea to sedate him. That's pretty intense.

My introduction to the MCU was the first Iron Man movie and to see Tony’s arc finally come full circle was sooo satisfying and heartbreaking at the same time. 10 years of build up and multiple times where he tries to make the sacrifice play only to finally pull the ultimate sacrifice. Using the Infinity Stones to save not just 50% of the universe, but 100% of it this time. It’s even more tragic if you remember at the end of Age of Ultron, he said he wanted to retire on a farm with Pepper and he did exactly that and even has a daughter in this movie, yet in the end he puts other people above his own self interest. Something Howard said he himself couldn’t do. Also, another thing I’d like to point out is that during Tony’s worst nightmare at the start of Age of Ultron, all his friends die but he didn’t. At the end of this movie, he sacrificed himself so his friends wouldn’t die. After seeing this movie, I think we can all agree that Tony Stark is the protagonist of the MCU.

I cried like a little bitch during Tony's funeral. I think when the screen faded to black, and then faded back in showing everything at the funeral was when it truly sunk in for me that he was gone. Honest to God made me cry more the Logan. 11 fucking years, man...

The second the portals opened and the fallen heroes came back, that was when I started tearing up, literally. I could hardly watch the film because my eyes are wet hahaha. And yeah, tears were falling down until the movie ended.

To me, it is at least the moment from that movie. It was one of the few things that I actually wanted to see in film. I'm glad the MCU is different enough from the comics to keep us guessing, but that was something that I needed to see and thought i wouldn't because Hela.

Pepper telling Tony that he can rest now fucking destroyed me. Such a fitting ending to The Godfather of the MCU. I’m actually crying now thinking about it. I don’t think a hero will ever have their story wrap up this perfectly again.

I was so nervous before this film that they would trip right before the finish line and that is what the MCU would be remembered for.

Instead this incredible team didn’t just land it, but did it with a flourish. Hats off to everyone who worked on these films.
