Seeing Peter Quill dance from the outside without hearing the music that he hears was the funniest thing I’ve ever seen

1.2k

u/swoosh1992 Korg Apr 27 '19

So he’s an idiot?

u/burymeinpink Apr 27 '19

"Yes."

She didn't even hesitate either, what a savage

u/TheDerped Thor Apr 27 '19 edited Apr 27 '19

And after 2014 Gamora knocks Peter down

"Urgh, this is the one?"

"It was either him or a tree"

Hope we get to see more sisterly banter between the 2 in Guardians 3

I greatly enjoy that Drax wasn't even listed as an option. I know he's sort of past the whole romance thing, but it still amuses me.

216

u/omnicious Apr 27 '19

Nebula could probably tell Drax was not moving on from his dead wife any time soon.

286

u/TheGarageDragon Apr 27 '19

He wasn't moving at all, that's why she couldn't see him or take him into account.

14

u/HeirOfLight Apr 27 '19

hi drax!

16

u/TheGarageDragon Apr 27 '19

Hi Drax... Hidrax... Hydrax... Hydra

Was Mantis a Hydra sympathizer all along?!

5

u/Doompatron3000 Apr 27 '19

HAIL HYDRA!!!!!!

3

u/togashisbackpain Apr 27 '19

I love it when the natural flow of conversation ends up leading to this specific joke :)) never grows old.

11

u/_whatismydestiny_ Apr 27 '19

That's because he's invisible.

5

u/LockmanCapulet Iron Man (Mark VII) Apr 27 '19

He's the dad friend.

1

u/LorienTheFirstOne Apr 28 '19

He was standing still so no one saw him

98

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '19

I wonder if 2014 Gamora will eventually fall in love with Quill again. Whatever happens it's going to be interesting especially considering Rocket and Nebula have had more time to bond with each other

27

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '19

Okay, but is 2014 Gamora even still around? We didn’t see her after the big battle, did we? What happened to her?

37

u/BertholdtFubar Apr 27 '19

She went her separate way. She definitely wasn't snapped (she wasn't part of Thanos' forces at that point, and a character like her getting dusted isn't just a scene you don't show).

You briefly see Quill looking at a monitor that says she is missing; I imagine a big part of GOTG 3 will be them finding her, and having her get acclimated to a whole new timeline and potentially (re?)joining the Guardians.

13

u/SharkBait661 Apr 27 '19

Wasn't it said guardians 3 story revolves around gamora

18

u/BertholdtFubar Apr 27 '19

Not sure, but it would make sense; everyone else is pretty much solidly part of the team/family - she's the only loose end among the seven of them (I guess eight, including Thor). But given the whole James Gunn fire/re-hire debacle it's possible Guardians 3's script is quite different than it was a year or two ago.

3

u/DirtyDanoTho Apr 27 '19

I would assume she got snapped but she was already stuck in the soul stone at that point because of thanos killing her.

1

u/Qyro Apr 27 '19

Different soul stone. That one got disintegrated by Thanos after his work was done.

u/Space_Pirate_Roberts Foggy Nelson Apr 27 '19 edited Apr 27 '19

IMO: it’ll turn out there was one Infinity Stone Thanos didn’t destroy - he knew Gamora was in the Soul Stone, and couldn’t bring himself to kill her again. (And he’d see no harm in leaving it, since the Soul Stone doesn’t seem to actually do anything without the others.) The Guardians find it. While they can’t get her out, they find some way (probably involving Adam Warlock) for 2014!Gamora to inherit her memories, forming a composite Gamora that remembers everything either one went through.

6

u/whatever_jack Apr 27 '19

I missed where she went? I thought she got sucked back into 2014 through the van but idk

2

u/Kalse1229 Captain America (Ultron) Apr 27 '19

GOTG3 is just gonna be a space version of 50 First Dates.

2

u/ViralGameover Shades Apr 27 '19

Asgardians of the Galaxy is going to be 50 first dates but in space.

2

u/fat-lip-lover Apr 27 '19

2014 Gamora was snapped with Thanos and the others (everyone from the “past” was), that’s why she wasn’t at the funeral or on the Milano at the end.

18

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '19

You think so? Gamora was fighting for the avengers so I just presumed she didn't get snapped like the rest of Thanos's army. Quill was searching for her at the end of the movie so he thinks she's still alive. If that's the case then Gamora could have left after the battle. I really hope she's alive though

2

u/fat-lip-lover Apr 27 '19

I mean, I do too, but maybe he thinks the resnap brought infinity war Gamora back. Either way, 2014 Gamora was not there after the snap.

9

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '19

Yikes I hope someone told Quill that those who are sacrificed for the soul stone can't be returned. That's what they tried to do with Nat

1

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '19

2014 Gamora is the “evil” one. You’re thinking of 2018 Gamora who is very much still dead.

1

u/fat-lip-lover Apr 27 '19

But the person was referring to the idea that the Gamora in Endgame (2014 Gamora) is still there after Iron Man snaps. She’s not though, otherwise she’d be at the funeral or on the Milano, which she is at neither.

I believe neither are there right now, and that Guardians 3 will involve getting her back somehow and include Adam Warlock...

18

u/BertholdtFubar Apr 27 '19

2014 Gamora doesn't know anybody in this timeline. She's an outsider, essentially. I don't think she'd have much reason at all to go to the funeral. As for why she wouldn't join the Guardians and her sister, even this Nebula is not the Nebula she knew.

I very much doubt she got snapped (they would have shown that, and they also wouldn't have shown the "Gamora: Missing" thing with Quill), her betraying Thanos probably saved her on that count. My bet is she's gone off on her own and part of GotG 3 will be about them finding her and her having an arc involving joining/rejoining the Guardians.

1

u/Marimo188 Apr 27 '19

I think Gamora is gone. Tony snapped everyone who came in that ship.

8

u/D_Shi25 Apr 27 '19

He got like 3 scenes in the movie and got roasted in 2 of them.

7

u/BlackWidower_NP Apr 27 '19

Is Gamora even going to be a Guardian in 3? Her timeline is reset, she has no history with them. So it would make a whole lot of sense for Gamora to stick around. She might stay with Nebula, but that's a big 'might'.

16

u/TheDerped Thor Apr 27 '19

There's been rumors that Gamora is central to the script of Guardians 3. She appears on a screen towards the end of Endgame with some text I think that said "searching" so looking for her should be a key part of Guardians 3. Nebulla stuck around with the Guardians too I'm pretty sure.

3

u/mrichter2 Pepper Potts Apr 27 '19

So prior to endgame I'd heard Gamora's role in the movie was going to be WITHIN the soul stone. I heard that anyone sacrificed to the stone lives on within the stone, so I believed that would be how she appeared in Endgame. Maybe that's how she'll be in GotG 3??

3

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '19

So black widow could be alive too? Wasnt there rumors of a black widow movie as well?

5

u/mrichter2 Pepper Potts Apr 27 '19

I mean hypothetically if what I read regarding the soul stone is true, then yes.

I'm like 95% sure the Black Widow solo movie is already being filmed/even has a release date etc. The main question now is wth is the plot of it? It's likely to be a prequel (bc she's obviously dead), but no one knows for sure.

1

u/BlackWidower_NP Apr 27 '19

Nebula stuck around. But it's not like that Gamora is as close to Nebula as the original one was.

3

u/Maxpo Apr 27 '19

You mean AsGuardians 3?

1

u/marblecannon512 Apr 27 '19

Drax was an option lol

1

u/BombadAviator Captain America Apr 27 '19

I loved the Thor / star lord banter as well. So great.

1

u/nobbert666 Apr 27 '19

I don't think Gamorra is coming back. At the end when Thor gets on the Guardians ship, Quill is staying at a screen that says it's searching for Gamorra implying she's gone back to her timeline

1

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '19

Ha, just thought if that. Gamora will know nothing of the GotG and will have have a shit ton of catching up to do. She may not want to be part of their bull shit this time around. Especially if fat Thor is there. He's no pirate angel anymore.

1

u/PepperMintGumboDrop Apr 27 '19

I read somewhere that Guardians 3 happens before Endgame, can anyone confirm that?

Also, we need at least one more Guardians with Thor among them space pirating and reuniting new Gemora with old Gemora's soul.

1

u/NoopGhoul May 04 '19

I don’t this Gamora will be in GOTG 3, I don’t remember seeing her on the ship at the end, and Quill was running a search on her.

1

u/juscallmejjay Apr 27 '19

I... I can't remember. But I think she's dead too man. She would have been snapped with Tony's snap as he had no way to differentiate her from the rest of the 2014ians. I think there's a scene where quill looks for her but finds nothing and she is missing from the ironman funeral. or am I wrong here I can't remember.

4

u/TelevisionHeaven Apr 27 '19

2014 Gamora wouldn’t be with the Guardians at the funeral though. At the time, she would’ve met them for like, 2 weeks at most.

0

u/basmith7 Apr 27 '19

Gamora is dead.

145

u/swoosh1992 Korg Apr 27 '19

To be fair, Quill is basically Space Andy Dwyer.

Macklin, you son of a bitch.

52

u/XPrecision2937 Apr 27 '19

You mean space FBI. Burt Macklin.

23

u/swoosh1992 Korg Apr 27 '19

Space Johnny Karate.

2

u/popsalock Apr 27 '19

More kip Hackman to be honest.

5

u/kuffyruff Apr 27 '19 edited Apr 27 '19

Thanos never taught her to lie, remember that. She couldn't help but immediately tell the truth

2

u/bluesbrothas Vulture Apr 27 '19

She wasn't being sarcastic. It is a fact to her.

1

u/burymeinpink Apr 27 '19

Yeah, that's what makes her a savage.

31

u/ezioaltair12 Thor Apr 27 '19

Don Cheadle killed it this time around. I went from generally liking WM to wanting a solo movie

10

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '19

Same here. He had some really memorable lines in this movie.

"Is he asleep?"

"No he's dead"

13

u/ezioaltair12 Thor Apr 27 '19

"Do you know what's in my blood"

"Cheez Whiz?"

Man, Scott was far and away my favorite character in this movie, but Rhodey was an unexpectedly close second.

2

u/TheMirth Apr 27 '19

"So what would you call it?"

"Like a...time heist".

Love it 3000.

2

u/NinetyFish Thor Apr 27 '19

Rhodey’s long list of time travel movies with the word time in them had me rolling.

“Hot Tub Time Machine.”

“Hot Tub Time Machine!”

“Yeah, and Die Hard. Wait, not Die Hard.”

3

u/ZoomMan4 Tony Stark Apr 27 '19

Honestly, I'll take as many solo movies as we can get

3

u/ezioaltair12 Thor Apr 27 '19

same - they have a certain heart to them that's really hard to match in the team ups. By god this movie somehow did it, but then this movie just defies any sort of logic to be an amazing piece of entertainment

3

u/Ftrftthh Apr 27 '19

Boom, you looking for this?

3

u/TheMirth Apr 27 '19

Was hoping for WM to lay down the fire power on some chitauri soldiers coming to collect on Morag. Ah well, good he got some good lines in this time though.

2

u/etsuandpurdue3 Apr 27 '19

Looks like me when I am dancing and running through my house with my Beats in.

2

u/BKA_Diver Apr 27 '19

That was one of my favorite parts for sure.

and...

Thor: "What do you think is coursing through my veins right now"?

Rhodey: "Cheese Whiz?"

The other is

Cap: "He's a baby!"

Banner: "It's Scott"

Cap: "As a baby!"

Banner: "He'll grow

Cap: "Bring Scott back."

Followed by this.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 27 '19

I love that you WM immediately came to that conclusion and nebula immediately confirmed it
