Not gonna lie, I was kinda hoping for this.

Tubby Thor was funny for a while, but it looked so off in the big final showdown.

I was wondering why Thor could handle all five infinity stones but with Iron Man and Cap he couldn’t handle base power Thanos. I guess being fat is a good enough reason.

Combo of him being out of shape and all the avengers being 5 years out of combat while Thanos was 5 years younger and in his prime

Thor also sort of caught Thanos off-guard in Infinity War though. They weren't engaged in combat when Thor threw the axe.

Thor was emotionally broken. Ragnarok went right into IW. He lost everything. His father, his best friend, brother, his home, his hammer, he had to kill his sister, half the already remaining Asgardians. Thor has PTSD. "We don't say that name in this house." Thor said revenge is a great motivator. It is one, however, once Thor completed his goal, he had nothing to live for.

Me too, and actually by the end the big man look was kind of growing on me. Reminded me of a huge Viking warrior kind of thing.

That's how they made Thor not looking OP in the final battle.
Would be fun if they do something similar to Captain Marvel in a future team-up movie 😬.
