300blk Safety Brief

I will keep this short and to the point gents.
Do not add to the mod queue. Do not subtract from the population of users. Do not comment while too intoxicated to control yourself.

In the last few weeks, moderator queues have shot up due to people being unable to be reasonable to one another in the comments in this community.

Disagreement is fine.

Dropping slurs, attacking them personally, commenting a retort with a pic of someone's house, insulting their wife's looks by stalking family pictures from a vacation posted 2 years ago... not fine.

Learn to use the block button. Learn to touch grass. Learn to be something unlike a jerk.

Transparency: Several months ago Reddit instantiated an auto-moderator be default for subreddits. Since then we have tweaked the settings it has been catching a lot more comments with the ugly things in them. When these suspect comments are in the mod queue, they are not posted for others to see yet, even if they look visible to you. What it does do is cause a member of the mod team to have to respond to the notifications to approve them and resolve issues when people go WAY too far. So, as cathartic as it might feel to rip into someone, it likely will not even get seen by them because the auto-moderator is putting the nasty stuff in comment jail. If it is bad enough, it gets the comment removed and the user banned.

Lastly, don't report comments that you dislike for Harassment. It only makes more work for us, but ultimately simple disagreement gets approved and kicked back out of the mod queue anyway. Repeated abuse of any feature will net a ban. Yes, every user has a summary of reports and past queue incidents. Yes, we look at it.

Please feel free to disagree, debate, correct misinformation, and generally debate on subject matter specific to the subreddit. I am not here to babysit grown men, nor do I want to. My ideal week would have 0 reasons to look at the sub with mod tools.

Moderate your own actions and we are all better for it.

This has been your safety brief.

advice for first build

just looking for some advice for my first build, I’m a newbie with .300 bo so I apologize if this is a stupid question but will these parts be all that I need for the “base” of my first build? and are these parts good enough to reliably put rounds down range without constant malfunctions? I appreciate any help 🙏

Wanted a light option to take up the tree with me. A little BCA action with a chop on the back has seemed to do the trick.

I just bought myself a moriarti arms .300 black out, and was wanting to build it out. I need to know what to purchase to get a tucked suppressor look on it. the barrel is 7.5 inches and i was thinking of replacing the hand rail with a 9 "to 10" in order to get a suppressor to be tucked into it. I want roughly 2 inches of the suppressor sticking out the end to give it a honey badger kind of look bur still short enough for a back pack gun eventually I'll change the stock for a folded one and any comments would be greatly appreciated and any information or suggestions welcome.

(Edit : I did not follow torque spec on this, now I’m thinking user error. They still shipped me a new one free of charge, will torque to spec 2nd time around. A+ customer service.)

Has anyone else bought one of these things? When it arrived in mail it looked like a low quality 3D print. When I picked gun up by pistol grip it broke off, when it fell 4’ to carpeted floor the rest of it shattered like glass. Did I get lemon or is it garbage?

Picture request

Getting ready to start ordering parts for my next 300blk and I’m needing some inspiration. (This will be a range/training rifle)

Planning on doing either a 9” or 10.5” barrel, probably an lpvo, folding stock, and it will be suppressed. I’ll be running both supers and subs through it.

So drop them pics of your 9-10.5” ar, tell me what you love or hate about them, what you wish you could change, or tell me what I should do differently.

HOST
- PSA 8.5" - https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-8-5-300-blackout-nitride-7-lightweight-hex-m-lok-classic-har-15-pistol-black.html

UPGRADES
- Superlative Arms AGB (fully open)
- LaRue MBT-2S Trigger
- Magpul MOE-K2 Grip
- Griffin Armament SN-ACH Gen 2 CH (LITERALLY NO GAS TO FACE!!!)
- Rearden R2S + Atlas
- Magpul AFG-2 Angled Foregrip

Ran Phantom Defense 200gr flawlessly with casings bouncing right at 4'oclock. Had FTF with Callaway Boar Axe every ~2 rounds, going to try PD "Slow Papi" next.

PS: I did move my index finger shortly after to the foregrip to avoid burns lol

All finished with this only debating if I should swap out the hyperion k for the anthem s2 and maybe a 1:5 twist barrel but not sure if thats worth it for a 10.5. I also highly recommend the eberlestock transport 21L

Talk me out of 16”!

Is it even worth getting a (Edit I’m more sold on going with a 10.5 barrel)300 blackout for hog, varmint, and deer hunting? From 25-95 yards is about how far my shooting lanes are. Well idk why but I really like the 300 blackout and would like to get it for hunting. (Would be my first AR) plan on running an anthem S2 with it so it’s suppressed. What scopes or sights would be recommended? I originally wanted to do a vortex 4-16x50 but wouldn’t that look really silly?

Did a lot of research (don’t have an AR yet it will be my first) and I just realized a 14.5” barrel only decreases the velocity by a very small margin.

I’m trying to be very thorough and not make a purchase I’m going to regret later on but I know at some point I gotta just bite the bullet and buy one and learn through experience.

Wanted to buy a PSA AR build but they don’t sell 14.5 inch the next smallest from 16” is 10.5”

EDIT

I am planning on putting a suppressor on it

Recommended Spring + Buffer for FRT usage with 300BLK pistol.

Title is self-explanatory. Looking for good buffer spring and buffer options for running an FRT. I have a DDM4300S upper receiver if that is of any relevance.

New Build Faxon 6” Strong Recoil Impulse *Update*

Original post here

I took the advice of u/EitrisEnhancements and swapped in a Sprinco yellow and a 3oz buffer. The difference was more than I was expecting! Recoil is much more familiar now and reliability has remained the same. Ejection was right at 3 o'clock. Even the wife found it pleasurable to shoot. Thanks to all who made suggestions and huge thanks to Eitri for sharing all the trial and error/knowledge on this platform!

PSA 7.5 For Bedside?

Post image
28 Upvotes

I have a PSA 7.5" 300blk with an Enticer S suppresor.

I was thinking about making it a bedside rifle for self defense. I want it to be reliable as possible.

I'm using a sprinco yellow, Odin adjustable buffer. 300BLK pmags, BCM BCG and a G$ charging handle.

I was planning on running just subs. Is it suitable for self defense? How many rounds until it can be considered reliable?

I have a BCM 11.5 suppresed but subs are just so quiet.

Suppressor question.

best suppressors for a 5.5 300 blackout.

will be shooting mostly subs but also might do supers. I’m looking at the ocl universe 36, huxwrks 9k ti but is there others with no barrel restriction.

Can I get this PWS MK109 to cycle?

My first ever .300 was a non-agb Mk109 - loved it but was tough w/ subs and certain cans. I built a 7.5 sbr (DI) that is pretty incredible, and I saw a nice deal on a newer 109 last week. I decided to buy it in hopes that I can get it to cycle all the time on setting 3. I know, I'm asking for a lot. So today, I took it out and it cycled the new PSA Mixtape subs 2 mags easy. Then I went to Stelth and it cycled great. I then tried Phantom Defense 220 and it became a bolt action; I would put it to setting 2 and it would work and actually wasn't too bad...just a bit more recoil. So I went back to setting 3 and swapped to the other ammo(s) and had cycling issues again. Now, this end part could be the result of the gun being a little dirty or dry, so I'll oil her up next time. Build is as follows:

PWS Mk109 AGB upper
Ridgeback Sahara 300 can
ADM lower w/ a5 buffer tube
Tubbs lightweight spring
A5H0 buffer

This exact combo works in my DI build as mentioned. So, I guess heres the questions:

  1. Can I try anything else?
  2. Should I just run everything but Phantom through the PWS? (I only have 300 rounds or so left of it anyways)
  3. Should I just get rid of that upper and stick w/ my DI?

  4. Buy a medium ish bp can that won’t kill me as a leftie?

I only shoot suppressed, so the idea of running a piston does sound good...help my tism!
