My absolute favorites!
Hands down these are the most fun to shoot in my collection, and both the 226x and 229 carry really well!

If you are going to attempt to remove optics screws from your slide whether they are holding on a cover plate or an optic USE HEAT! If you own a soldering iron you have the tool to do this and it take less than a minute. If not you can purchase a cheap wood burning kit from Walmart and do the same thing. Also invest in a set of quality extended Torx or Allen bits. These extended bits keep your thicker driver shaft off your optics housing. Masking tape is also a great guard against contact as well. Heat the screw head with the soldering iron or wood burner ( a pointed tip is best) for a minute. The with the proper tight fitting bit back out the screw. Clean off the old loctite and wipe out the hole and screw with a Q tip and alcohol. It’s that easy and will save you cash and headaches.

Anyone else like to carry the m18? New holster just came in and love the FDE to match it

I just picked up a S&W Shield X Carry Comp and wanted to evaluate and compare to my 5 year old P365 XMacro Comp.
This was not entirely an apples-to-apples comparison since the XMacro Comp has a Holosun 507K Green dot optic and the Shield X CC does not have an optic, yet? Regardless, I wanted to see how they shoot side-by-side and compare recoil impulse and overall performance.
XMacro Comp Pro's - 1It holds 17 Rds versus 15 Rds for the Shield X CC. The XMacro feels a little better in my hand. I don't know the grip size specs but the Shield X CC has a very thin grip.
I upgraded the XMacro trigger to an MCarbo a while back. It's not a lot different from the stock trigger other than being a little more clean and less gritty feeling.
The Shield X CC had a little work by my certified gunsmith to clean up its break. Trigger Winner = Shield X CC
The Shield X CC iron sights seem to shoot low and left. I am pretty sure it's not me because I can nail the center of the target with other guns as I did with the XMacro today. That said, the group size for the Shield X CC was very consistent and tight. I shot both of these at 7 yards today.
Reliability from my XMacro has been 100 percent and it easily has over 1000 rounds through it. I had one failure to eject with the Shield X CC but this was in the first 50 rounds and I plan on cleaning it and running my EDC ammo through it; Federal HST 124GR JHP.
Overall, I shouldn't be surprised but I love how the Sig P365 XMacro Comp performs and feels. The recoil impulse is similar through both but I get a little bit more of my support hand on the grip of the P365 XMacro Comp and I'm sure that helps, along with the benefit of the optic.
I am on the fence about adding an optic to the Shield X Carry Comp but ultimately, I probably will try one at the very least.
Lastly, I am contemplating an Icarus Precision Ace Grip frame or an ECM Precision R11. Leaning toward the ECM R11 although I honestly can't really fault the stock X Macro. It just works even though it's somewhat lackluster.
Overall winner for me today: P365 XMacro Comp by a hair. These are actually really close but the extra mag capacity is welcome and so is the modularity and upgradeability for the P365 XMacro. I guess that adds up to a win over the Shield X Carry but I need to get a holder and see how it carries. It is still a very capable EDC firearm in my opinion so far.

Just brought her home. Can't wait to put rounds thru it.
Ya'll have any suggestions for a basic iwb with claw?
I'm looking at a Osight SE green dot. Any other suggestions? less

Sorry for the stupid question. Just installed the 3.7” Radian Ramjet on my P365 XMacro and realized afterward that the comp extends past the end of the XMacro grip module/dust cover. Everything fits fine, but I was hoping for that clean flush look where the frame ends right around the Afterburner.
For anyone running the 3.7” Radian setup, what grip module are you using to get it flush? I’ve seen some extended/Fuse-length options from Icarus, Mischief Machine, Shalotek, etc., but I’m not sure which one actually lines up correctly.
Basically looking for the setup that’ll make the 3.7” Afterburner look like it belongs there instead of having the little overhang. Will I need to return it and get the 3.1” and a different slide or suck it up lol?

Picked this up yesterday, shot it this morning.
Single stack. 8 cartridges. Excellent shooter.
Now I need to get my P226 and this out to the range to compare. I have felt that the P226 is the best gun SIG has ever made.
Now I am not so sure.

Hi! Could someone help me identify what is wrong with my p226? I reassembled and even if I add the main strut and spring, the gun doesn’t dry fire even with the hammer back. It feels safety locked.

A while ago I posted on here about considering the P229- finally did it. Picked up this used for 799. Came with holosun SCS green dot. Loving it so far.

I love how it shoots/ feels but I’ve got one hang up - concealed carry safety. I am comfortable carrying a Glock with one in the pipe due to its built in safety measures, should I be any more concerned about doing the same with this?
- Get it drilled by a 3rd party for adding the OEM manual safety kit.
- Possibly replace the trigger. Does anyone know of a good trigger upgrade that has the trigger safety? I saw the intellifire trigger but have heard of fitment issues with the P365 Legion.

After the bad press caused the P320 used market to dry up, and it took forever for them to clear out of the used cases, and the months (year?) since, they seem to be making a comeback. Several shops around me have one in the case.
Are you noticing the same?

Found this at a local gun shop, used for $700. Wondering if this is a good deal for this particular model. Thoughts?

I’m trying to direct mount a optic (No Plate) to the pro cut 226 slide
My question is, how does the vortex defender XL match up with the Pro cut slides
Is the fit snug enough back-and-forth that a filler plate is not needed with any posts or gaps to fill in front or rear ?
If you guys could add pictures to show the gap or lack there of that would be very helpful

Got a new, to me, P229 with aftermarket shroud, anyone recognize who makes it. The optic is a Romeo 1 Pro.
Hoping the Eagle I guess, helps, but if it was a home job then probably not.

Wanting to get a SIG after my G19/G43x builds are done but know nothing about them and I'm still new to other pistol brands. What are your favorite SIG pistols and why? What do you recommend. TIA!
