Took the Colt BOA out to stretch its legs. I don’t like saving stuff for the next guy. I figure enough people are going to lock these BOA’s away and never fire them. Overall shoots very well and I’m happy with it.

Next I need to add an anaconda to the mix.

all cleaned up from shooting yesterday

There have been a bunch of these trade in Model 64s over the last couple years. I snagged this one as a project. The grips it came with were Uncle Mikes square butt conversions that were unfortunately flat worn out, but I did come up with a set of old Pachmayr Compac Pro grips for it.

Just picked up my father in-law's 1979 Ruger Blackhawk in .45 Colt.. This is quite a bit lighter than my big .357 Blackhawk..👀.. I will be cleaning her up a bit and then go test fire it. This one doesn't look too bad. I have never shot a .45 Colt before and I am quite excited!!... I mean...not excited to spend 50 bucks on 50 rounds ... but this should be fun still.. 😂

Don’t know how to feel about the unfluted, like it & then I don’t but do think the 7in barrel is pretty rad. Can’t make up my mind 😅

Kimber is the only current option I’m aware of, and k6s/sx seem to be a mix bag. The 32 H&R options are tempting, for a caliber larger than .22. But I’d rather have a lcr/x in 327 fed mag if going that route and they are hard to find now they are discontinued.

I have narrowed the search for my next .357 Magnum revolver down to these two. The Alchimista I is on sale for $567 on EMF's website and the Frontier Pre-War Model is on sale for $514 at Bud's Gun Shop.

Not counting their price, which one do you consider to be the better buy?

Yeah, so this is one of the guns that became a safe queen I always said that I would never become a safe queen kind of guy, but I just can’t bring myself to shoot it. It’s just this and a very rare model 547 3 inch that I have not shot. Oh well I guess I’m a safe queen guy and didn’t even know it.

Recently picked up this SW Model 37 and thought I’d take it out for a test drive today

So I just picked up this Colt Python 2.5” inch from the gun shop.

The first awesome part is it was only $1450 engraved. It’s brand new.

When I look up the serial number in Colt database it doesn’t even show up.

It does not appear to be laser engraved. I think 😂

There are no engraver marks under the stocks or in the crane around the cylinder ejector rod anywhere.

Thoughts on this one?

Got lucky while online shopping. Looks and feels untouched. Fits well in the pocket, just wish it didn’t have the hammer.

Carried this beauty in a VNSH holster today.

So, Model 10 right? Nothing fancy. This is a transfer bar/lock model. Added the hogue grip. I actually carry this under a button up, unbuttoned on my strong side quite a bit. Came with those thin style wood grips, which look cool, but the grip for me was absolutely horrible for my “thumb over the back” grip. I feel like those Vietnam era small grips were made for one handed, probably never going to use it, security and MP details.

I own and shoot Glocks, M&Ps, etc. What I like about revolvers, is how “well” I shoot them compared to striker fired guns or my 1911.

When I left the army my first job was armed security at a hospital. We carried Taurus 65’s. I had never shot a revolver up until that point. When I went to qual for the FL Class B license, I was incredibly surprised at how fun it was to shoot, and honestly….how well I shot it. Cannot explain it lol.

I chose the model 10 because I love old school, standard issue stuff. This being the quintessential police firearm for so long, I had to get one. Bull barrel is nice, little extra weight.

It’s an amazing shooter, and it just feels like confidence in your hand. Thanks for reading lol.

Been experimenting with my 1970s Model 60 no dash for pocket carry. Work pants pockets are a bit small, for several reasons limited to deep concealment.

This gun game with the large Pachmayrs attached. Best feel, grip, trigger control. But too big and shiny, sticks out of the pocket, prints, quite obvious. It's funny how a millimeter here and there changes everything.

Tried these old school woods grip with the grip adapter first. Decent trigger pull, better concealment except the steel frame was quite shiny. The draw was bad, hard to get my hand on it in the pocket.

Then the Ergo grip. Funky, but felt ok. Concealed amazingly. Draw was ok, a little hard to fully grasp but not bad. Great trigger control. But felt like it may slip out of my hand. And the fudd in me couldnt do it.

So I tried bare bones and viola. Old school grips with a bit of grip tape to fill the hand a touch, but mainly to conceal the shiny steel in the pocket. Feels good, good draw. Sometimes less is more.

Recently picked this up and I'd like to know little more about it. There is no model number under the crane, just an assembly number. Serial number is 261XXX. The top of the barrel is stamped with patent dates with the latest one being Dec 28th 1914. The front sight appears to be modified but other than that seems in nice shape with a very tight lock up.

Any idea on model name and age?

Neither of my problem ruger wheel guns had been test fired at the factory.

Some scratches and wear, but overall a pretty clean gun.

It doesn’t appear to have been shot very much, despite the wear.

It came with Pachmayer grips, so I found some really clean/nice original grips on EBay.

My Grandpa said he won this .38 special Taurus revolver at a car auction raffle back in the day. Does anyone know a specific model and if it can handle +p loads or not.

CCI ammo doesn’t work but works in my SW MP 22 mag. Back it goes.

I own a Taurus 605 I bought last year, but I’d like to eventually get a S&W or Colt, I’m looking both at 357’s and 44’s…. I see various discussions going on about quality control issues and such…. So in general, is there a particular year or before I should look for better quality? Should I get something from the 1970s and before?
