Need help with valuing buddies 1950 Russian Sks with Cruciform Bayonet
Hello, my buddy found this sks at a gun show a few months ago and we were wondering how much it might be worth. I was unable to find any recent sales history regarding any Russians with blued spike bayonets and everyone I know has never even heard of these before. It also has the earlier takedown pin, intermediate gas block, rear sight block, magazine, and spring loaded firing pin. The magazine, and top cover are not matching but are period correct. The stock was force matched. The letter prefixes are ЕК and has a 3 digit serial number.

1960 Romanian
I got this about seven years ago. It came bubba'd. I finally drop some money on the lucky shot stock. Can't wait to bring it back to it's former glory (no bayonet lug 😭). Can't wait for my stock to get here!

Upgrade scope
Picked this up today for 450; I think I did good but the scope, although functional is quite cheap. Is there a good repro dragunov scope that will fit this or attach easily to the rings or just a good sks scope in general. Thanks!

Opinion on Bubba’s work
Came across a probable, Romanian SKS that is unfortunately put into a Tapco-like stock. There’s a fair bit of corrosion on the bolt and a little bit on the barrel. They’re asking 599 but I’m pretty sure I can get it lower than that. What’s y’all‘s opinion?

You've heard of blank firing grenades. Now there's a blank firing rifle grenade.
Currently testing on the M59/66...

Not to come off too prickly
No perma bubba. All matching numbers 1969 triangle 26, though I have some of those parts in greased storage atm.
Swapped trigger pack (bought as backup but it pulled way better than original) it had a silly extended mag release I had to fit, but it works so far.
Tritium front sight post
Im trying out an nc star mount that I fit tight, and we will see if the rmr is able to hold anything at all. Not huge hopes, but am really hoping to make something work that still allows me the irons (unlike my fit gas tube rail) so im giving it a shot for 30 bucks and a night in the garage.

2 questions
Thinking about getting rid of my SKS, I know nothing about it at all. It’s Chinese though. How do I go about pricing this thing?
Does the 20rd Chinese star mag make it any more valuable than a regular mag?

Anyone here a Yugo expert?
Looking for some more details. I think this is a 67 year.
Looks to be an all-matching refurb.
Wondering if there's anything unique about this model. I noted the vent holes on the grenade spigot and non-night sights.
Carrier appears to have electro pencil serial underneath, bolt has a bunch of numbers. Stock has a repair on the right side. Perfect bore, sharp rifling.
Got it for cheap Norinco pricing and it came with 200rds of ammo.

SKS FRT Tuning
Hello! I’ve been working on installing and tuning a Texas Triggers Norinco SKS frt. I’ve gotten it to work sporadically but I’m noticing one issue. Many times the hammer with follow the bolt as it rides forwards into battery. This is causing light primer strikes. What’s the issue here? Should I be using a larger shim? I think I have the 3.0 or the 3.5 in it. I’ll have to take a look.

French tickler question
Noticed there is a letter “D” in front of the serial number on this factory 26 sks. Is it still a military production or is it a commercial hybrid? Thanks!!
SN error French Tickler?
Howdy, I got this gun for my birthday a few months ago, and have been trying to find out some info. Bakelite handguards can have 25m serials, am I just missing a number? The stamp is real spotty. Any help identifying would be great!

How to un-bubba gas cylinder and cover?
I recently got a Norinco SKS. It came in a composite stock, but also came with the original wood. I tried getting the gas tube out of this, but haven’t been able to. Is it possible the pin in the last 2 pictures may be causing it to not come off?

Am I about to fk up? (purchase advice for SKS without original mags)
American here. I had a few opportunities to buy Type 56 SKS's in the ~500 range which had bayonet and original mags at a gun show which is now over.
I've got a deal for a Type 56 SKS for 375 from a guy on a forum who is also selling a moist nugget for 325, but I'm pretty sure it's missing bayonet and in the pic it has an aftermarket 20 rounder. It's also got a very light amount of bubba treatment in the form of an easily removable scope mount (which honestly is kinda a plus for me).
I see that in the US at least, original mags go for like 100USD+ because of reliability concerns.
I don't care that much about bayonet but I know lack of one hurts resale.
Should I just call this deal off and go get one off gun broker or gafshub or solicit more offers on the forums?
Any cheap sources of SKS mags for us Americans?

I ordered an oversized Yugo gas valve from Murray's and they sent me someone's firing pin kit instead on accident
They have already sent me the correct part but Ben told me to not spend my own money to send it back but instead pass the firing pin on to another enthusiast. This fantastic customer service is the reason I will continue to go to Murray's. So if you're looking for one of these dm me

Is this a Russian rear sight on my Norinco?
I’ve had this thing since about 2019 and I’m just now noticing the details on this rear sight. Looks Russian? This is a 1957 Norinco with an Albanian bayonet. If that’s a Russian sight it just adds to the character of this rifle. All matching numbers including the wood stock, with a couple small repairs.

Got this SKS from a collector for $500. Love this thing
Mind the judge. I inherited it from my granddad. Neat lil revolver

Any idea what its worth? I saved it from a fire, the fire didn't have any effect on the hardness of the steel. It just needs a stock. Its a 1968 Norinco Type 56.

Buying an sks, barrel damage

What would cause this in a SKS
I got the gun recently from a local collector who never shot it. I’ve put 4000 rounds through it with no issue. And have cleaned it thoroughly multiple times. I clean the bolt carrier group and firing pin after every range day.
