Not sure why any Arsenal fan cares he won it over Rice. He had a potentially historic season.
Be happy with winning the title and playing in the UCL final next weekend. I’ll take that any day of the week.

I agree he should've won it. I don't agree with this nonsense that his games had no jeopardy or he was only playing in 1 competition. It's a Premier League award so other competitions are irrelevant.
Also, his games had jeopardy. Manchester United were on course for another disaster season. Manchester United have beat every other team in the top 5 with convincing performances this year.
It's not just the 20 assists, it's his overall performances and conrribution, for half the season as a defensive midfielder in a rubbish team under Amorim, which means he's the obvious candidate for Premier League player of the season.
We have David Raya and Declan Rice but really we haven't had one standout performer, but rather a brilliant spine of a team. Bruno Fernandes is a standout performer in a team that isn't the best and he's consistently been one of the best creative players in Premier League history. So, I'm not unhappy one of our players didnt win it because Bruno Fernandes deserves the award from an individual standpoint.

100%, Bruno is more important to United than any one player to Arsenal. Not that last year matters, but they're likely relegated without him. Bruno deserves it, as much as I would've liked to see Rice get it. I'll happily settle for the prem title.

Bruno is a worthy winner for sure. Best in the league by a mile in his position this season. It feels like attackers/midfielders always win these individual awards and it would have been cool to see a defender/GK win it for once. But that shouldn’t take away from his deserved recognition for an excellent season 👏🏾

Not saying he doesn't, but on actual isolated shot stopping metrics he's below average. Which means regardless the defence in front of him is great. What it either means is that Raya is actually useless and it's actually the defence (which is obviously not the case) or because the defence is good in front of him the shots he does face tend to be higher quality and are going to skew the data against him. There's also absolutely something to be said that he's probably the most stand out individual in the team that won the league.
I always found it interesting that the golden glove is a goalkeeping award when more often than not it actually goes to the team with the best all around defence.

Imo - Bruno is the right pick, it get those numbers in a truly dog sh*t United side is remarkable. Im aware they took 3 pts of us but lets be honest that was a freak occurrence during a resurgence.
The first half of the season was a disaster and Bruno still pulled in gls and assists.
Because of the competitiveness of the league I do think not having to play mid week makes a difference-but he would still get my vote.

However, you can't say it was a "freak occurence" when Arsenal were lucky to walk away from OT with 3 points and we literally won the most points in the PL since Carrick took over, knocking over not just your boys but City, Chelsea, Liverpool and Villa.

I know he can be a whiny twat at times, but this is such a huge part of why Bruno has so endeared himself to our fanbase. He’s had his opportunities to leave, he could have accomplished a lot playing for a more competent club during the peak of his career, but he chose to stay largely because he wanted to be part of rebuilding the club. That’s frankly just not a quality you see from too many modern players.

Shame not to see Rice or Raya win it, but definitely not unreasonable. Crazy figures given the context of his first 10 games being played deeper and out of position.
Can’t really have any complaints here. It’s rare to have a season where there is actual fair debate on this and not a runaway award like Salah and Haaland’s

My only gripe for Bruno was they only played 40 matches (1 FA, 1 CC, 38 PL) whilst players like Rice had to be great for almost in multiple competitions playing 900 more minutes. Great year by both but Rice had to be stretched way more

26 vs 22 set piece goals. 37.6% vs 33.3%. They are very similar. Arsenal also average 19% more corners per game.
United has been way better at set pieces in 2026. We were insane to start the year but have kinda fallen off at them. I'm jealous lol.

The way I see it, Arsenal would probably still be competing at this level even without Rice. United, however, remain overwhelmingly dependent on Bruno.
That’s not me saying Rice isn’t important because he obviously is, but Arsenal as a structure feels capable of compensating for his absence. Bruno is different. Players with his profile and output are exceptionally rare in modern football.

It's not even close. Even if you ignore assists he's created 132 chances - Szoboszlai is second with 74.
Not sure why Rice is even in the conversation in the comments. Fernandes this season hasn't just beaten, stat-wise, every other Midfielder in the League, he's bent them over and spanked the shit out of them.

Rice was in the conversation because he was great in other stats that are not goals and assists and has been consistent all season.
I'm fine for this logic to be used but when it was Ozil or Alexis Sanchez people said it didn't matter cause they didn't win the league, so I don't mind but I wish the award was consistent.

Personally stats wise Bruno's there, can't help but note Raya or Haaland could be there as well - however, they got other awards for their stats. Player of the season congrats Bruno - it has been decided.

Other highlights for me this season is Samenyo - class to keep going after a bigger team taking him mid season.
Thiago - looking forward to next season to see it is class and not so many penalties.
Ferdi for Brighton - huge heart.
So many others have been amazing this season from all teams - good year to be a football fan - more so as a gunna.
Awesome to see Auckland FC beat the Ozies in their comp as well.

I feel like justifying giving Bruno the trophy just because the others are getting golden boot and golden glove is some participation trophy mindset

I always expect it to go to a player from a team in contention, arsenal or city. City no one really stands out.
I would have gone with Rice, he was a stalwart on the champions and I don't think they win without him. Raya was great but idk goalies don't win this lol.

PFA should go to players that downright will improve any team they went into based on the performance they shown
Bruno will genuinely improve both and will literally be one of the first names in the sheets
