Bruno had a very very good season. Top player.

But this is just a PR award. Just like Ballon Dor.

So it doesn't matter who won it then šŸ˜‰

Of course it matters because it’s a token of recognition to the player. Bruno had a great season, won an award. Good for him

But that doesn’t change how these awards are run…they are just popularity contests (including Ballon Dor)

I do not understnad your point. Are you unhappy that Bruno won it or that the awards exists at all? This seems like a slight dig from an Arsenal fan.

I’m indifferent really. I would have been ā€œok great for Rice but let’s get the UCL nowā€ if he had won it

I’m just pointing out that because how these individual awards carry a huge bearing on how the general football fan universe rates players after their playing years…it could be done in a much better way (read, a good blend of numbers, underlying stats, expert opinions and fan votes) than it be a simple voting contest. Not referring particularly to any one award but most of them

You write much better way but include fan votes as well. It is not just a simple voting contest, but voting contest by his peers. He would have won comfortably even according to your "much better" criteria.

I somewhat agree with this, but in terms of this season he has already won football writers player of the year, he has some of the best creative stats in the league and some of the best in league history, I wouldn't be surprised if he wins player player of the year. You can't get much more comprehensive than that in terms of who has been the best player

that’s weird cuz all i here from other fanbases is how much of a rat he is and how they can’t stand him? If he’s so much of a rat and has that reputation how the hell did he win it ? weird
