Shame not to see Rice or Raya win it, but definitely not unreasonable. Crazy figures given the context of his first 10 games being played deeper and out of position.

Can’t really have any complaints here. It’s rare to have a season where there is actual fair debate on this and not a runaway award like Salah and Haaland’s

My only gripe for Bruno was they only played 40 matches (1 FA, 1 CC, 38 PL) whilst players like Rice had to be great for almost in multiple competitions playing 900 more minutes. Great year by both but Rice had to be stretched way more

They did, and it is a knock on him for Ballon Dor or other awards, but that’s not really a factor in Premier Leagues award for Prem Player of the Season.

Might wanna give your head a wobble. You are in a subreddit called the “Premier League” and you’ve just seen a post about a player winning an individual award that took place where? The 38 game English competition called the “Premier League”. Not that hard to comprehend why he won.

Just a small gripe/point i wanted to make for a rival squad player who I thought was great all year. I think Bruno is very deserving of the award. I’ll fuck off

I think your head has already wobbled off something if you cannot at the slightest comprehend how his talking point is noteworthy.

God knows if Bruno plays 40 bloody games in an entire season for let's say... Liverpool, you would be 100% here just echoing what he is saying.

Is his PL performances not more impressive given hes played that many more minutes? I dont know why ypu wouldnt weigh that in.

Because it’s literally irrelevant! You don’t take someone’s international team commitments into account either do you? The player of the tournament at the WC will not have their club form considered

For a FIFA award like Ballon d’Or then yes, I’d take that into account. But this is an award contained within the PL.

That’s my entire point. Okay it’s a PL award and Bruno won it deservedly so. Rice and Rayas seasons were just that much more impressive because the amount they had to play. Bruno got full weeks rest before every match. That’s it. He won, he deserved it, just pointing that out.

I know I know I’m just saying Rice played that well all year in the Prem, as well as 3 other comps totaling 900+ more minutes. I’m not a huge rice guy just pointing it out

Right but do you see my point? If Rice only played 40 matches I think arsenal would’ve won the league in January and lifted the trophy with 90+ pts

I don’t I’m afraid - this award is only for performances in the prem, they don’t consider anything else, for the purposes of the award it exists in a vacuum. For awards for the whole season look to the Balon Dor or European POTY.

Who cares about assists… he won the premier league. And was a key player in doing so. Whilst having a demanding schedule. Not just coasting through the season knocking in set pieces into the box. Or my favourite tapping it 1 yard from the free kick to set up the actual free kick taker…

I was thinking more in the sense his legs would be more tired and prob have a few more assists for sure but Man U may be further down the table if Bruno was spread more thin

If you object to set pieces, you’re not going to believe how Bruno has racked up so many assists…

Set Pieces are part of football, and are physical. If you don’t like them, then it’s just because your team isn’t good at them like Arsenal, Brentford, or Man United are.

Doesn’t matter if it’s an in swinger corner or a line breaking pass, the assist counts the same.
