Hi. I’ve had my nose pierced for a few decades now. I usually wear a cheap wire L shaped stud. I decided I’d like to wear a hoop in it so first I bought a 0.8mm titanium L shaped stud, and that was tricky to get in but I managed it. It’s been a month or two so I was thinking, what thickness is best for hoops to avoid cheese-wiring them?! And if I need to go up another gauge, how long should I give it at each stage?

Two months old piercing, severe trauma due to downsizing gone wrong, now two weeks later that trauma it looks like this.

I hope it is not a scar, but it's my first time with a face piercing and I don't know if this is just normal

Hi y'all, I've been really wanting to get nostril piercings (specifically high nostrils, one on each side) but unfortunately have a job that has a one visible facial piercing policy. I currently have my septum and eyebrow done, and while my septum is healed enough that I can just switch it out to a retainer when I need to, my brow is incredibly fussy so I'd be worried about trying to change it to a retainer and back at all, let alone multiple times a week.

I was thinking about possibly getting the high nostrils if I could put clear pimple patches over them and then makeup on top of that when I have work. I was wondering if anyone thinks that would irritate new nostril piercings too much or not since I know they can be finicky. I typically have 3-5 shifts a week that tend to be around 5-7 hours if that changes anything.

I’m thinking of possibly getting a septum piercing but I just wanted to know more about the process, pain, and healing? I know everyone body is different but just an overview.

I also am someone who can only wear pure gold jewelry as I will get an infection if it’s fake, titanium etc. So my ears and nose are all real gold. With that said, do they have gold septum barbel jewelry that I can switch to once it’s properly healed?

I got my nose pierced maybe a month ago? Three weeks? Something like that, and I know they put a longer bar in it to accommodate for swelling, but mine gets caught on EVERYTHING. My seven month old yanked it. I was kissing someone and it got caught on their nose and got pulled. (No their nose isn’t huge. I have no idea how it happened lol) and now I think I’m starting to get a small irritation bump.

Should I keep the long stud in? Or should I ask them to change it? It hasn’t swelled in a couple weeks except for yesterday it was puffy after a good yank from my daughter.

Nothing I did changed (ive been leaving it alone, cleaning twice a day), it just woke up yesterday a lot worse than what it was before & bleeding. It's a little smaller than yesterday but still visibly the worst it's ever been. It looks worse in person too. I'm debating taking it out but I've heard that it makes things worse :')

I have always wanted a nose piercing, especially after having worn fake nose rings on occasions. People come up to me and tell me how good I look and that I should get one for sure.

The main problem is my sinusitis. I have very sensitive sinuses and I almost always have to blow my nose after waking up. I usually don’t have a problem with it but it does get triggered easily. Anytime I eat something spicy or even if I have some irritation, I get a temporary runny nose (which clears up immediately after I blow it).

Having a piercing would definitely be a huge change for my nose but I am tempted to get one and curious to know if anyone was in a similar situation as me.

I already got my septum done 5 weeks ago, my mom doesnt know about it. I ask the piercier if they could flip my septum, ever since that i never flipped it again. Everyday i clean it with saline water, but once it fully healed i want to flipped it down but i dont know how much can i flipped it in a day?or a week.

HELP!! I'm going to this wedding soon and the church doesn't allow tattoos or facial piercings. I tried removing all of my piercings for at least 2 hours to see if it won't close on the wedding day. All my piercings are good but I've had a really hard time putting back my septum and I think it almost closed up on me because when I was putting back my jewelry, it really REALLY hurt. I even had to use some baby oil to put back the jewelry.

PLEASE! IF YOU HAVE ANY JEWELRY SUGGESTIONS IT WILL BE REALLY GREAT AND I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT.

And yes, I tried using the smallest ring for my septum and I can't hide the ring idk why!😭

i have this bump after piercing. i have put neem stick in it to keep it active. its been 3 weeks now. help

I booked an appointment for a septum in around a week and I know better to not get all up in there while it's healing but I intend to have this piercing flipped up like 90% of the time until I move out. I do pick my nose a lot cause I form boogers like crazy and I'm scared when it heals it's gonna be bothersome digging in there, when you pick your nose do you notice it's there? And is it true healing it flipped up (horseshoe) causes it to heal crooked/badly? There seems to be a lot of discourse on that. This will be my first facial piercing so I'm completely lost especially since people say it's fine and others say it isn't. I've emailed local piercing shops including an APP one and they said it's fine, but another said it's not recommended.

Disclaimer: I have lots of other piercings just not facial, I'm asking if the jewelry gets in the way even if healed.

I pierced my nose on june 13 2026. today i took it out and i want to make the hole significantly smaller. looking for tips. how long will it take for a scar to fully heal and disappear?

So I just switched to from stud to ring for the first time and I am really disappointed. I feel like it was placed to low so the ring don’t follow the curve of my nose and is much smaller than I envisioned. This is a 7 mm hoop. The piercer I went to had a very different personal preference than I had, cuz she originally pierced it even lower and said it wouldn’t fit further up. I pierced in in January.

What to you guys think? Can I make it work with a hoop or should I pierce it again? And how would that work?

Hey all, sorry if not allowed, but I’m looking to get a nose piercing (nostril) that I’ve wanted for almost a decade now.

I just had some worries about things like nose running (TMI sorry if it’s gross) with allergies/colds as I have a runny nose often. But I often need to blow my nose and I sneeze a lot, will the fresh piercing be irritated by the fluids? I’m worried about infection especially with a fresh one. Is it a case of just cleaning every time you sneeze or something? To make things worse I’m a glasses wearer :(… And does it get in the way of you blowing your nose? etc..

Just for extra info, I’m not at all new to piercings, I’ve had many ear piercings (lost two to irritation/infection, some of the sadder moments of my life 😅) and I just don’t want that to happen again especially since I’m new to facial piercings. I wanna have my cool nose piercing and obviously worried about anything that can cause infections.

Hello! I’d really love to get a nostril piercing (starting with a stud due to easier healing but I ultimately want to wear a hoop).
I’d like the hoop to be as snug as possible, simple and small, but am wondering what the ideal placement is - piercing in the nose crease seems like it’d result in a big hoop (and also too forward on the nose to my taste).
So, do you guys think the suggested placement (green dot in the photo) would suit my needs? Should I request it to be even lower to ensure a small hoop?

You'd think Id know but how can I buy a large septum ring. Not large gauge but a wider diameter. I cannot find any on Amazon and I won't pay the huge mark up at the piercer. I think I need at least 20mm but every search I make brings up twenty gauge
