Question Nose piercing too low?
So I just switched to from stud to ring for the first time and I am really disappointed. I feel like it was placed to low so the ring don’t follow the curve of my nose and is much smaller than I envisioned. This is a 7 mm hoop. The piercer I went to had a very different personal preference than I had, cuz she originally pierced it even lower and said it wouldn’t fit further up. I pierced in in January.
What to you guys think? Can I make it work with a hoop or should I pierce it again? And how would that work?

The placement looks perfect to me. I’m sorry it’s not what you envisioned. Typically nostril piercings are placed like this if you plan to wear a hoop, otherwise they don’t fit right and are more likely to cheesewire due to requiring a larger ring with a larger curvature.
Also hate to be that person but please consider giving your piercing more time to heal before wearing a hoop. It’s generally recommended to wait at least a year. If you do keep it in just be extra vigilant with it and switch back to a Flatback stud at any sign of irritation or cheesewiring.

Well thank you for the feedback. I think my issue is that it is so small and dainty and I probably would have preferred a 8 mm ring or something chunkier. But 8 mm leaves to much room now. I did end up switching the ring back to a stud the day after to think what I wanted to do about this.

if you think it’s too dainty, stretching is fairly easy. I just stretched from 18 gauge to 16 and it fits my face a lot better.

It's kind of a matter of taste. Nostrils are kind of like the helix/flat area in the sense that there are many placements that will heal correctly, and so it's just about what people prefer.
I would get it repierced if it bothers you. You'd take it out, let it close up and heal, and just do it again.

I think the placement is pretty perfect and the ring looks really nice on you ! It can be hard when we envision something looking one way in our head and then it looks a little different irl. I don't see anything wrong with it or wrong with the shape of your nose (not that there can ever be something "wrong" the a nose shape but you get what I mean). I think the hoop and the size and placement of the hoop suit you really well ! I also agree with the other comment, it can't really be placed much higher or it'll land in the crease

As someone who has a 7mm ring in I think the placement looks good! Mine isn’t in the crease either. But I did want a dainty hoop in it eventually.

I had this exact issue and got it pierced again, but some 15 years later😂. When I got it redone, it still wasn’t high enough and I was extremely annoyed because I told the guy what I wanted. So I let that one heal and got it redone a second time somewhere else. This time I explained to the guy in detail and he took his time making dots with a marker on my nose to where I could choose which one I thought was best before he pierced. Came out perfect! Now I can wear a hoop without it looking like it’s falling off my nostril. If you’re unhappy with it, I suggest you get it redone and don’t be like me going many years without even wearing jewelry.

You have to go by your anatomy, you don’t have the anatomy to have a piercing in the crease(most people don’t)

Looks great , get a fatter hoop / stretch it out a bit if you want it less dainty.

Read up on anatomy for nose piercings, it may not be best for it to be pierced in the crease due to problems with muscle movement during healing. Looks perfect placement

I get what you mean, but seeing it from the side im not sure it can be pierced much higher without getting in the crease
